Stayed at Adele's B&B the week of August 11th. There were 5 in our group and all were impressed with the history of this place. Dan and Christine were considerate hosts. We arrived in a triple digit heat index and cold drinks, veggie tray and snacks were provided on our arrival. They had the A/C running and rooms were comfortable and cool. Breakfast was hot and hardy. Omelet with fruit bowl and sausage. A few in our group are vegetarian and were easily accommodated. Dan shuttled our bicycles to the basement and in the morning they were out front ready to ride. If in season ask Christine for a tour of her garden. Wow!

Adele’s B&B is located in the quiet town of Smithton, PA. I stopped here on my first night of cycling the GAP trail and so glad I did. The Inn is decorated with historical memorabilia from the town and the inn keeper will keep you entertained with wonderful stories. The breakfast was outstanding. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The town only has one restaurant and a small grocery store and that’s all you really need. The restaurant was crowded with locals and visitors alike and the food was excellent. If you want to experience an authentic small town in PA, I highly recommend Smithton and Adele’s B and B.

Absolutely amazing place and people. While backpacking across america, I arrived after a day of walking in the rain, soaking wet, and absolutely exhausted. I asked if there was any vacancy, and a room was made ready for me, I was given some snacks to eat and set up for the night by the most kind people I've meet along my journey. Highly recommend this place to anyone, and if I'm ever in the area again, I will make it a point to stop in and stay for a bit. Oh, and the breakfast 🤤🤤🤤 days later, and I'm still thinking about it 😃.

We stayed in the Apt at Adele's B &B. It was a wonderful experience. We were on a bike trip down the GAP Trail. Adele and Dan are so helpful. Adele had a veggie tray prepared for us on arrival. They parked our bikes in the bsmt and charged them. There were ice cream snacks in our fridge to purchase. 2.00 each. What a deal. The old bar and historic photos were so fun to look at. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. If you love flowers, she has an amazing flower garden out back.

Amazing BnB hosted by Christine and Dan. They welcomed me with snacks, regaled me with stories of the house and wow, just look at that bar!
Forget your high speed internet and on suite bathrooms. This one is a gem on the GAP!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Adele’s B&B this past weekend with my boyfriend during our GAP trail trip. Our lovely hosts, Dan and Christine, made our stay one of the best experiences I have ever had.
We arrived a little early on the day of our reservation, but they were still ready with a plate of veggies and dip and waters for us which was exactly what we needed. It also gave me the opportunity to talk to Dan and Christine about their roles in the community and Christine’s love of gardening. Her flowerbeds rivaled, in beauty and abundance, the incredible decor of their establishment. It was so interesting to see all of their vintage pictures, posters and items that really told the history of the B&B. During breakfast we also got a more in depth telling of the history of the house while eating what was easily one of the best breakfasts for a long day of riding. I also have a food allergy and they were so kind and helpful in accommodating that. I highly recommend staying here if ever on the GAP trail or really for any occasion. Truly a diamond in the rough.

This was a wonderful B&B, and we loved our stay.
The building has such character and a lot of history.
The hosts made us feel very comfortable and regaled us with entertaining stories.
Breakfast was the best on the entire GAP. The room was very comfortable.
We are glad we stopped at Adele's, it was a highlight of our trip.

You are going to love your stay here. Christine and Dan are running a family operation and make you feel at home. The property has a rich history and you feel as if you are now apart of the legacy. The rooms are cozy, the price is right, and the breakfast couldn’t be better.

Sooo close to the GAP! May as well be on the trail. Super short hop over small friendly bridge to included breakfast, friendly knowledge hosts, in a bldg originally designed as a guest house, not repurposed, continuously maintained since 1890. Fantastic gardens, cozy quiet rooms, relaxing porch, secure indoor bicycle parking

July 2024 GAP ride from Cumberland to Pittsburgh and back with my friend Andy. Stayed there on the way out, and enjoyed it so much we made a point of staying on the return trip. I don't think you can find a more comfortable, friendly place on the trail. Christine and Dan could not be nicer, and bring an appetite for a killer breakfast. Thanks for being wonderful hosts.

This is THE stop in smithton. Adele’s is all about accommodating guests. Amazing food and cozy beds. If you are traveling with 4+ guests, book the apartment. All other rooms have a share a single bathroom. 1 block away from a great restaurant/watering hole and very close to bike trail. Dan noticed that my bike tire was loose and fixed it for me. A must stay place.

Dan and Christine are exceedingly generous hosts who provide comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and good cheer. They accommodated us last minute when we lost biking time to some unexpected mechanical issues. Arriving to a plate of veggies and dip, a spacious shower, and cozy bed was exactly what we needed. We will absolutely be staying here the next time we bike through!

What a wonderful place to stay a night! My sister, mother and I arrived at 9pm after biking the whole day and Dan was extremely welcoming. He made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning and Christine was very nice and told us the history behind the BB. Overall, we highly recommend staying here, not only for the connivence of being so close to the GAP trail, but also for the hospitality and kindness of Dan and Christine.

Very scenic place. We came off the bike trail and totally enjoyed that this is not an ordinary B&B. This is one I would like to show my wife someday…even if she won’t ride a bike!
