I live walking distance from ShakeHouse Boxing and have long wanted to try it out since moving to Bamberg almost three years ago. As a new, single mother, I rarely get time to get any cardio in, and as a dancer, I am excited to improve my grace and agility via boxing lessons. My work/childcare schedule do not allow me to attend group classes, so I bit the bullet and signed up for a private training with Ashley. One hour on a Saturday morning.It was fantastic.Before our training, Ashley inquired about my fitness goals and desires. She customized our workout to those items. We started with some gentle cardio on the rowing machines and proceeded to boxing technique for beginners on the square. We continued with some serious hip/thigh workouts using resistance bands and rounded it out with agility training on steps. The time flew by, and I left feeling lighter, stronger, faster and more vibrant than I had for a long time.Ashley as a trainer is low key in her approach, so the heat sneaks up on you. She is a good listener, attentive to your form, extremely positive and encouraging, and laid back. By laid back, I mean she calmly told me to do, say 2:00 more minutes of cardio, and as we were chatting, I found myself doubling it without a hitch. I generally don't respond to really pushy training sessions and like having the space to push myself. Ashley gave me that while making sure I both used proper technique and that I was progressing.Shakehouse Boxing has everything you need to get fit in a compact, clean, well-appointed space. Posters of boxing greats adorn the walls (which are brightly painted different colors), making for an inspiring environment. You of course cannot miss snaps of gym co-owner Sammy Milhouse himself, a champ in his own right whose infectiously rambunctious energy balances perfectly with Ashley's quiet and calm demeanor. This is a space for folks from 2 to 102 to get fit, and I"m so excited to work with Ashley again.

This boxing club is fun and exciting and great for singles or families to join ive been only a few weeks and lost 12 pounds already and im disabled so weather u are full health or have a disability you can stil get back to health

Community and fitness! What else can you ask for? The people, trainers and consumers, are relatable and fun to be around. The crowd is respectable and friendly, not to mention you work up a sweat. Best of all it's an eclectic group: young, seasoned, women and men attend. No discrimination. Plus, if you're looking to build discipline Sammie will definitely instill it within you. The workouts are challenging from beginner to intermediate to advanced. If you want to take that next step you can enter a sparring session to really elevate your game. ShakeHouse Boxing is a place dedicated to health, wellness and camaraderie.

I got to hand it to the Shakehouse crew this is my second week and I can truly say everyone is welcoming and motivational. The decision to start was easy but the choice to be consistent can be tough just out of my current fitness status. I thank everyone for being so motivational and helping me push even when the don't know it I would have been given up if I were on my own. I have already done things I never thought I could or would.

Motivational, hilarious, caring, butt kicking trainers! If you want to get a serious workout and need someone to push you to do your best this is the place to go. You can't beat the atmosphere and the energy anywhere else. Being in a group of motivated individuals creates a wonderful environment that you look forward to being in Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!

Shakehouse Boxing an Fitness is the place to go to have a total body transformation. The classes will challenge you, the trainers will push you, and you will hurt after every workout. This means you will work your whole body, there is constant encoragement, and you know the workouts are working. My absolutely favorite aspect of this gym is the atmosphere and trainers. That is what really makes this place special. You will meet new friends with the same goals and no judgement. If you have to slow down then slow down. If you have to be first then be first. The trainers understand difference in fitness level and skill so they are able to push you to do more and do better every workout.
