Nice family fun! Enjoyed the train ride with the historical commentary. Everything was well organized and went smoothly. Great adventure for young kids.

The train was a lot of fun and the food for dinner was phenomenal. However, the service was very poor. First, we were told by numerous overhead announcements that the train would board at 8pm. The ride was scheduled for 8:15pm to 10:15pm. We didn't board until 8:40pm. The train left 45 minutes late. The train arrived back at the station one hour late. The staff on the train complained over and over about how short staffed they are and that they pay isn't worth their working conditions, etc. If that is true, I feel badly for them, but that is not the experience that my family and I paid for that evening.

We really enjoyed the museum, train ride, turntable and all the information we learned about the area's train history. The food in the deli was homemade and the BBQ sandwich & potato salad really tasty! All the staff and facilities are top notch. Definitely don't miss a trip here.

My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time here! We had dinner on the train and it was such a needed relaxing evening on our road trip. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the train cars in their inventory. I'm definitely recommending them to my friends as a Chattanooga must! Would love to do the longer train excursions some day.

We really enjoyed the train ride and the information shared by our conductor. It was peaceful and relaxing. Would have enjoyed being able to get on some of the display trains to see what's inside. They were only available to view from the outside.

We loved the diner train experience (post COVID-19). First timers, Bob made the experience a fun one with his humor and knowledge. The dinner was worth it. We never had to ask for refills. They said if you needed or wanted anything, including more, just ask.The selection could be a little better on food offerings but probably a restriction or some sort of limitation we are not aware of. For what they do offer it is good.We will be back soon to enjoy another round of this fine dining experience.

We love train rides. The museum is filled with great history and memorabilia. The missionary ridge trip, serves its purpose, by explaining the history of the route, experiencing the engine turntable and the restoration department. The best trip that we've taken is the Etowah all day excursion. This trip is filled with surprises throughout the mountains, and adorable tour of the cities that meet at the borders of Tennessee and Georgia, and a relaxing get away.

The local Mission Ride Loop (the 6 mile, roundtrip ride) was nothing to write home about. Not scenic but yes, informative, so I think it achieved what it set out to do. However, dropping that much money per ticket, you'd expect a little more. You basically just take a 15-20 minute ride to watch them turn the train around and listen to more information, then 15-20 minutes back. It is cool, but it's like they take you somewhere to explain things they could've explained anywhere, really. While it might be more useful to actually see what they're talking about, chances are you won't understand what they're talking about anyway, given the terminology and how quickly the person was explaining things. For me, they charge too much since it's basically information above anything. The longer routes could be cooler, but they should consider lowering the price of the 6 mile trip. I wanted the 4 hour long one, but they don't offer it currently.

Fun for the whole family! We took the one hour round trip train as it was the only thing available for the day we wanted to ride. You need to book early if you want to do any of the other excursions. (We wanted to do the dinner train!) Still have to wear a useless mask as they are governed by the TSA. The staff were super friendly and we had a wonderful time. Wish we would have had the Grandkids with us! They would've loved it! Highly recommend!

What is it about a Steam Locomotive that turns every red blooded man into a 7 year old boy! The TVR is an amazing experience! I am so blown away by the brilliant Mechanical Engineering and function of these trains. The thought that every part was designed, built and installed in the current computer chip world where we have absolutely no idea how things function. Great short trip up to the turntable and back. I cannot wait for the Hiwassee Loop track to reopen. Amazing photo opportunities! I will be back for sure.

It was a decent experience overall. It was short ride. A couple of things to note were the bathrooms were closed on the train. There were bathrooms at the stop but nothing onboard. It was a basic ride otherwise. Wonderful for children if they just want to ride a train. Relaxing, yes. There could have be more done during the ride I thought though. Perhaps a gift bag, a water, anything to at least show the riders a little more hospitality. Everything felt very disconnected from the conductor giving info over the speaker. There wasn't a strong presence of workers on the train except for one person checking the riders. I felt there could have been more of an effort made to enhance the ride. The station is very nice though and the gift shop was fun. The concessions were open and typical of these venues. I would recommend but really wish there would be a few things done to help this ride excel to another level.

I loved the dinner train experience. Everyone was extremely kind and knew interesting facts about the train and area. The food was great! I just wish there were alcoholic beverage options. I would have definitely paid extra for that!

My sisters, mom, and I had such a nice time on the dinner train! The server, Jim, was kind and attentive. The food was delicious and generous portion sizes. Great variety of entrees and desserts. The only reason I gave four out of five stars is that I wish the decor had been fancier. But overall, a wonderful experience that we agree would do again!

This was my first time riding a train since I was a small kid. I thought it would be nice and different to have dinner aboard a moving train. I must say that I enjoyed the ride and the food and the staff. My friend and I were greeted at the door upon arrival and escorted to the rail car. Shortly after departure the food pre-selected was served. We were allowed to make changes and even request extra if we wanted. I was full from eating the roast beef, smashed potatoes and green beans. My friend had the baked chicken dinner. We started with soup and rolls and finished with dessert and coffee. We enjoyed our meals and relaxed as the train made its way through town and back. The train moves slow, so you can move around after dinner. I can check this off if my list.

I was visiting the area during a rainy weekend and after my hike was looking for a fun, inside activity. I seen a brochure for this experience and decided to check it out. I was so impressed! I wound up learning a lot about the history of railroads and going to see the backstop where they restore the train cars was really cool. The conductors were very knowledgeable and engaging. A great activity for families or solo travellers. Highly recommend.
