I walked in on my birthday, Sunday August 10th and Mikayla came up and greeted me. I asked her the price and showed her the picture of what I wanted. She took my phone and showed one of the other ladies there and that lady said she didn’t want to do it because she didn’t want to mess up my hair. (I was wanting to go from really long to super short hair.) Mikayla told me she could do it but didn’t have any openings. She said she would take my number down and call me if there were any openings. I live in a different town about 45 minutes away but I made the trip to Abilene to see where I could get a cut. So I go walking in the mall to see if there are any other places there that could cut hair. Not too much time has passed and I get a call from Mikayla saying there was a cancellation and I speed walk back to ulta. She said I didn’t need to show her the picture again. She knows what I wanted. She took her time and did an AMAZING job! Even better than I was expecting. I love it! The only thing I was confused about was I paid $57 for full service and didn’t get a hair wash. I’m still very happy with my hair and the job she did! She was extremely nice and we chatted and even made some jokes. Thank you Mikayla! I know who I will schedule with when I need a cut again!

This review is for the salon. I have given myself a few days to see if I would be less upset, and if anything I’m more upset. I’ve cried many tears. I don’t want to call the stylist out my name, but I will tell the story.
So I made appointment, came in and I told the stylist I wanted a few layers and at the very end of the layers to do a small razor cut, just at the tips only! So what this does for my hair is it helps it to kind of flip up on its own or easier without much effort. I will add that I have one hand, so ease of styling is essential for me. She immediately made a face and said oh no that’s not good for your hair. I don’t wanna do that. She said I can do the same thing with shears Is that OK?? I said well, I don’t guess I have much of a choice. By her reaction, I felt so stupid that I even asked for this haircut. She then proceeds to tell me how bad that is for my hair and I might get split ends. I have been getting this cut for many, many years and it’s always been perfect for me. I knew that anytime somebody tries to use shears on me in the manner in which she was speaking would terribly thin out my hair and that’s exactly what happened.
I told her that my hair had grown out quite a bit and that I wanted it just passed my shoulders when dry. She said, “so you went long layers?” To which I said yes! She said that she understood this, and I showed her with my fingers where I wanted it. She then proceeds to cut my hair. After a few minutes, I had to ask her, do I not get a wash with the service? She replied that yes I get the full service. She continued to cut my hair for another couple of minutes and then she took me for the wash. In 40 years of getting my haircut, I’ve never once had someone cut my hair dry and then go wash it and then finish cutting it. I don’t think she had any intention of ever taking me to go get it washed.
As she was cutting it, she was taking the shears and thinning it out with the shears. I wanted to cry then, But we’re in too deep at this point, so what do I do? She’s already cut off way too much and completely thinned out my hair! So I’m hoping maybe it will be ok. She blow dry it, It’s of course, not flipping out like it should, even with her styling it. I leave Ulta pay $57 and that leaves me at today.
It’s been three days and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever had. She knew that she didn’t do a good job and told me that I could come back within a week and she would fix it if I wasn’t happy. But, she’s already cut it all off and then it completely thinned it out. How are you going to fix this? There is absolutely no way to fix it! I am stuck with this. I intentionally grew my hair out to get this hairstyle that I wanted, It took me over an year and now it’s all gone.
I’ve been going to Ulta for the past few years and been paying their crazy high prices for a haircut because I usually get basically what I ask for.
I knew when the young lady seemed offended at what I asked where I should’ve got up and left right then. She made me feel like I was stupid because that’s the haircut I was asking for. So my advice is that anytime somebody makes you feel stupid. getting the haircut that you want get up right then.
I’m enclosing pictures of what I asked for, vs what I received. My profile picture is how my hair looks from the front when done correctly. But it’s a little shorter in my profile picture. I wanted it longer than that, but still the same style.

I walked into the back looking completely lost, and Marie saw me right away and asked if I needed help. I was pretty out of it, fatigued from the heat and not eating, and I could barely mumble what I was looking for. I’m not sure if she fully understood at first, but she kindly brought me over to her station and took the time to listen.
I told her I needed something to help hide my chin acne for a wedding, and Marie instantly knew what would work for me. She looked at my skin and just knew the perfect match. She was so gentle, using delicate products that worked well with my sensitive skin.
Marie was lovely to talk to and genuinely helpful. She used Lancôme on me, and I was honestly blown away by how good it looked. The coverage was amazing without feeling heavy, and she never once pressured me to buy anything. She even wrote everything down for me on a piece of paper so I could come back when I was ready.
I used the samples she gave me that Sunday, and the makeup didn’t budge the entire evening. I was so happy with how it turned out. Thank you, Marie, for being so kind and helpful. You really went above and beyond, and I hope all your dreams come true; you truly deserve it!

We had an ear piercing service done for our 1 year old daughter by Mikayla. The experience was way better than we had expected. She was super patient with our daughter and our little girl seemed very comfortable with Mikayla as well, which overall contributed to the ease of the whole process. Would definitely recommend having your little one’s ears pierced here and most especially by Mikayla!
