One of my fave spots to come charge my Tesla, service is top-notch and its just easier to dine in instead. The food is amazing, you may be waiting a bit on a busy night but totally worth it for some good food. I ordered the plain burger & fries. The espresso cocktail is HORRIBLE though, it’s the worst I’ve ever had unfortunately but I am just hoping it was a one-time thing.

Do not valet your car here. The valet will steal everything in your car. I keep $40 in cash hidden which was stolen, along with my phone charger and my sunglasses. When I called down to ask about it, they basically shuffle me between a bunch of people and no one did anything. This place is the worst.

Austin is one of our favorite cities, and once we stayed at the SoCo, we were ruined for all the other hotels! The staff is wonderful, from the long haired doorman/valet/pro sprinter (literally runsss around the block for the cars!) to the ever so helpful front desk staff answering our too many questions about good coffee or great margaritas, this charming place is it.Shout out to housekeeping as well; the beds were sooo perfectly made and the space so clean I could walk barefoot! I never do that, so I actually did not, but I could have!!!!Modern with lots of concrete and leather, muted with pops of color, fast elevators, comfy beds with wonderful pillows, and oh…the shower! The warmth, the pressure, the relaxation! This does lead to overtime showers, so I had to wipe the giant (biggest framed full-length monster you ever saw!) mirror with a washcloth, but that’s what I get for staying under the rain-shower head for so long. Weirdly, the mirrors stayed totally clear instead of re-fogging…At any rate (see what I did there?), this hotel is worth the bill; unsurpassed sleep situation, sleek decor, lots of spread out your stuff space, morning coffee was good, liked my breakfast, Maie Day across the courtyard had great brunch and cocktails, it’s right in the middle of the best of Congress, and they treat you like a special guest-Five stars, don’t know how they do it.

I stayed at this hotel a few days back. Staff at hotel were nice. BUT the hotel was horrible, there was no lighting as the ceiling was stone, so for women to apply make up etc nightmare !!!! The room was full of nothing but stone so no cosy warm feeling. While sitting in the bedroom or lying down on the bed, the person in the shower is on full display. Hotels are also booked by non married couples.I won't be staying at this hotel again.

Don't use the stairwell after business hours. The Exit light was green but I got locked in the stairwell after parking. Thought it was the street exit...

Be careful of hidden fees. Staff was cool. Rooms were nice. But since my employer covered my room charge I just put my credit card down for incidentals. I got a $70 charge on my credit card for “amenity” fee. They say this is for the things like the free coffee they offer in the morning and I should have been told this at check in. LOL! This is totally ridiculous. It’s not free coffee if they secretly charge you $70. OMG

If you have to charge your Tesla, don’t come here if you don’t have to charge your Tesla. You have to pay for parking on top of paying to charge. Just a heads up!

This hotel is like expensive lipstick on a pig. The lobby and common areas make you believe the guest rooms will be fabulous, but don't be fooled. Most of the good reviews are for people who never even stayed in the rooms. The rooms are tiny, the floors are cheap, buckled laminate, and are dirty. There is very little lighting in the rooms, and they are suspended from their wires on a pole system that was intended to be "Austin Chic" but really is like a dorm room experiment. There is no fan in the bathroom, so the room fills up with steam when you shower, and the windows don't open so it's like living in a jungle. The noise from the events penetrated our second-floor room. And, for all this, we paid almost twice the going rate as part of a room block for a wedding. I guess it was the very common "wedding tax" you hear about all the time. The location is good for shopping and nightlife, so if you are into shopping and glamping, go for it. If you prefer comfort, go somewhere else.

Centrally located, modern independent hotel. Close enough to downtown, but far enough from downtown that you don’t know it’s there. Be sure to check out the cool Japanese restaurant in the building: Otoko.Nearby activities: Hot locationFood & drinks: Try Otoko

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The location is so fun with so many places to walk to for dining and shopping. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend and stay here whenever I'm in Austin.

The front desk team was very accommodating while I was waiting for my room to be ready. They stored my luggage, did a pre-check in and ended up upgrading me. The location on South Congress was awesome! I would return!

The hotel is beautiful, and while I had stayed there before and was very satisified, this trip proved that the standards have fallen. Valet took 20-30 mins to get my car, was ill informed about the type of room I was booking for my party and had to divert two people to a different hotel due to lack of space, as I was not allowed a rollaway. This could've easily been solved if I was told upfront.

Unfortunately this was not even close to a 4 star experience. The way the shower/ bathroom is set up the shower is cold- felt like a campground experience. Restaurants were closed with no warning upon booking for a private event.

This review is specifically for the bar. We did not stay here. We drove to south congress to get some Home Slice pizza before they closed at 11pm, but decided to get a quick drink at the South Congress Hotel Bar. Nice little bar with modern/light wood decor. I'm guessing the smiley face is their thing, being posted at the bar and as an accompaniment to your drink. The bar tenders were super friendly and made the drinks with extra love. The sitting area is more casual than intimate, mostly small tables , sofas, and bar seating. It felt more of a cafe setting than a bar. I'd stop by again for a drink.
