The price is probably better than most BBQ places. I was a little disappointed in the brisket, but not enough to return for another

If you're ever in the area and get a hankering for some of the absolute best barbecue in Texas, I highly recommend you stop by Billy's and try out what he's cooking! Great food, all the sides and even dessert, if you still have room for it!! You won't be disappointed!

During my visit to Smithville, Texas. My man brought me here and I got the brisket stuffed potato! It was amazing!! The service, food, and atmosphere was above and beyond what I expected! I will definitely return!

Love their BBQ! I had the big baked potato with chopped beef, and all the fixins, $12.99 and my friend had Chopped beef sandwich. Reasonably priced. Great little diner!

Had brisket plate for supper (arrived about 30 minutes before closing and ribs were sold out, darnit!) Brisket was good, not a huge amount of smoke flavor but their sauce makes up for it. Brisket sliced right when you order it, so it was tender and juicy. Good meal!

Just had lunch here. Ordered the Small Family Pack. I didn't get pictures as we practically inhaled the delicious beef brisket. The sausage is juicy with nice snap when you bite in. Potatoe salad and coleslaw were excellent. We got lids for the sides as we were all stuffed.

Stopped here to support a small business, got met with attitude, and they couldn't be bothered to wash their hands or put on gloves before handling the food.

I first stopped in to Billy's nearly 20 years ago on just a on my way to Bryant. I never required the place because I was just traveling through.Today I made it a point to stop in on the way to the airport. Unbelievably it was the same as my first visit 20 years ago. It was incredible. Thank you Billy

Full Transparency here. I pulled into Buccee’s so I could get a brisket sandwich and was immediately reminded of the lunacy that is the glorified truck stop spectacle so many love and adore. I turned around and hit the first BBQ joint that I could find and it was Billy’s.Billy’s BBQ was a few notches above the standard BBQ spot experience. The Service - Average. They greeted me and said goodbye, but it wasn’t with a smile. I’m not snow bunny soft so I didn’t take offense. The Food - Above Average.Chopped Beef Sandwhich with pickles and light sauce. One meant plate with sausage, slaw, and pinto beans. The chopped beef sandwich was a bit on the salty side but had plenty of flavor. I requested light BBQ sauce which likely would’ve balanced out the salt.!!THE SAUSGE IS EPIC!! It’s a beef blend sausage they make in house with their own seasonings. Blended twice so the texture was amazing and it snapped first bite. Not chewy. Its flavor is out of this world. YOU MUST TRY IT.Slaw was home made and slightly above average with a hint of sweet and pepper.Beans tasted like ranch style beans out of the can. Jokes on them if so, because I love ranch style beans.Atmosphere is pretty cool, tons of locals. A group of men sitting around drinking tea and talking. Deer heads are abundant and hanging on the walls. Golden age of country playing on the radio. It was what you’d expect from this area of Texas.Overall 9.75 out of 10!Parking: Parking is on the side between the restaurant and the gym to the east.
