Cheap parts and charge alot for labor and will not do anything about it when you come back and tell the owner that something is not right. He sends you off to another mechanic like if it's there issue instead of him looking into it.

I do not recommend anyone to get automotive service by Skinner Texaco because they charged me for some work they performed on my vehicle that I didn't even authorize. When I talked to one of the guys on the phone I was told that it was going to cost $90 to fix my car but when I went to pay the bill It was $170! I only had $140. They took it and said that I can take the car and just come back and pay the rest the next day. I had no intention of ever returning there to give them the rest of that money. They're lucky they got the $140. My dad went there a few days ago to get some work done on his car and they added the $30 balance that I owed to his bill without telling him. Of course my dad was very upset about it. I felt bad for my dad knowing that he has Alzheimer's and just gave him the money back. I said all of this to say that Skinner Texaco on Ferguson@Oates in Dallas, TX are bad for business. I will give them one star only because they did get my car to start.

What an a******* Both the customer in front of me and myself were shortchanged after buying something here. The guy blatantly told me he did give me my change when in fact he did not. Thief!

Wish i would've read these reviews before I came to these guys. Took my car in to be fixed had been having issues with a noise under the hood, thought it was the belts. Had the same problem before took it and got the belt change elsewhere that solved that issue. Well I took it to this guy and ask for the belts to be changed and for it to be inspected at the same time. The head guy says that he could do it, but he had to get the part ordered. Now, I never saw him leave to get said part, nor did I see a parts delivery truck pull up. Well, sit there maybe an hour or so before he says my car was done. That was days ago. The second day out the sound under the engine was back. Called today and the owner says that when he changed the belts he saw that the pulley was wobbly. Say what? When I drilled him about why he didn't tell me this before he changed the belts, he had no answer except that I asked for the belts to be changed. He never mentioned when I was leaving that the pulley was bad, not until after I brung my car back. I paid over 300.00 for him to change the belt! My brother took my car back up there, and he preceded to direct him to a shop up the street because they didnt "do that kind of work". All in all I am going to get a second opinion by going to a real mechanic and have him check out my vehicle thoroughly. If in fact there is nothing wrong with my pulley in my car and he didn't do anything but put belt grease on my belt and send me on my way I'm going to the nearest judge and file a civil suit against him to recoup my money. This guy's a stone-cold crook and should be shut down. PLEASE DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH HIM OR VISIT HIS SHOP! HE IS A CON AND A SWINDLER!!! STEER CLEAR OF SKINNER AUTOMOTIVE!!!

I brought my Prius in to have a headlamp changed but provided the wrong bulb. They left the headlight assembly connectors loose in the engine compartment and lost one of the parts. Fortunately I was able to replace the bulb myself without having to return. They did not offer to replace the missing part and I have no clue what it's called or what it even does (likely part of the ventilation but whether it's an intake or exhaust I have no idea). The technicians were very polite otherwise.

The only one word I could think of to describe this business is CROOK! A woman's car broke down right in front of his shop. I stopped to see if I could help because she had her 3 children with her, it was about 98 degrees out, and she was crying hysterically. Come to find out, the woman's tire completely fell off while she was driving. I tried to use my jack but couldn't because her truck was to low to the ground. I went to this shop and paid the owner money to allow his worker to bring their jack to get it off the ground. Once I went back to the woman's car there was two more men there to help that had a jack that would fit under. My wife went back to the shop and told the guy nevermind but he wouldn't give her the money back. He said that he would give us a credit. So I went to another shop to purchase lug nuts and asked him to put them on for her. He said he would and that he would plug my tire for the credit. Upon returning, he said that I didn't need a plug and the woman only needed 1 lug nut. If you're aware of the prices, a plug costs no more than $10, and putting on that 1 lug nut shouldn't have been $20 and I didn't even need the plug. I asked for a receipt for the credit and he yelled saying I owed him $28 more for the service. What service? So then he proceeded to yell and threatened to call the police. I thought that was a great idea because being a woman and having this man scream at me for no reason was baffling. I waited for the police. When the police arrived and got both sides of the story, the Officer advised me to write a review or take him to civil court because "it just wasn't right." There was nothing he could legally do. But the owner said I was trying to get over on him and that I would pay. I guess he forgot I had a receipt for the initial purchase. As I was pulling out, he was standing at the door with his middle finger up at me. I said bless your heart, and he ran out screaming "what did you say what did you say, Officer she made a threat." The Officer chuckled knowing that I didn't and drove off. I hope he never does anyone like he did me.

Really good customer service and mechanic work. The mechanic Clayton and Wayne goes out of their way to make sure you know what's wrong with your car. They will explain it so you will understand it and fixes the problem.

Family owned service station. Great place to get your vehicle serviced. I've had several repairs done at Skinner's and have always been happy.
