We had a great tour. Svetlana was extremely kind, highly knowledgeable, and resourceful. She gave a wonderful tour of the facility. Walnut Place is a great 1 stop shop for everything your loved one might need. The facility is lovely with a nice open courtyard. The apartments on assisted living are great. The long term care beds and rehab floor will be of help in the future too. This place has everything that my MIL needs. We are looking forward to her moving in so she can be safe and well taken care of.

My mom had 2 stays at Walnut Place a year apart. Their PT staff is excellent! All the nurses and support personnel are so nice and very professional. They create a special bond with each resident. It’s a great place to make sure those you love will get great care.

If you’re looking for an assisted living place in Dallas, you must see Walnut Place! Wonderful facility, great staff and so many activities. All inclusive. Moved my mother in there and people living there took her right under their wing. Each floor has a neighborhood feeling. Don’t miss it if your in the position of having to find an assisted living place for a loved one.

I can't say enough good things about Walnut Place. My brother was in the skilled nursing section of Walnut Place for 2 months after a pretty extensive surgery and received the best care from the most caring staff you could hope for. Everyone there from the administrative staff, to nurses to cleaning went above and beyond to make his stay as comfortable as possible. They even got him to and from his DAILY radiation treatments and when he was ready, they made sure he had everything he needed for his transition back to home life. We truly appreciate all they did for us.

Walnut Place is wonderful. From the very beginning of the “moving process” every person we have met has been professional, friendly, engaged, accommodating, and all have a good attitude. It’s home away from home.

I have consistently been impressed by the compassionate and dedicated staff at Walnut Place. I was referred here by Julie at Senior Living Specialist after careful consideration of my requests, fears, and budget. If you want the short answer, this is right place to care for your loved one. If you want more details you’ll find them below.◦ Clean common areas◦ Private rooms cleaned daily on the memory care floor◦ Responsive◦ Nurse on duty◦ Cameras not only allowed but encouraged◦ Direct line of communication with staff via cell phone◦ Secured memory care floor◦ Residents engaged and clean◦ Food is freshly prepared and appetizing◦ Caregivers are hands on and attentive◦ Caregivers speak with gentle compassion◦ Caregivers trained to redirect when needed◦ No pressure no sales pitchStarting from day one one Svitlana welcomed me through the doors with love and empathy. At first I had come only to look at respite care but after meeting the staff and touring the floor I started to think this might be the right place for long term care.Upon entry I found a welcome sign with my name, a small detail that anyone could do but hadn’t. I was greeted by Svitlana’s warm smile and captivating accent. Although she’s heard years and years of similar stories you never would have known. She listened with such love and understanding. The tour was equally as impressive. The memory care floor was nice and smelled clean. This part alone was impressive. During the time of my visit the residents were dressed, clean, and ready to eat. They looked well cared for and engaged. The food actually smelled good. They were eating seared pork chops that day. This was a big plus for me as my Mom has always been a foodie. One pleasure that she can still enjoy. Svitlana knew them by name, touching their shoulder or giving them a smile. Again, genuine compassion. The caregivers on the floor were also very attentive. I was impressed by the room size and the en suite bathroom that was easily accessible for my mom. It was there I met Carlos, Director of assisted living and memory care. He too was just as engaging with the residents as Svitlana had been. I asked about having a camera in my mom’s room (some places don’t allow this and it’s a hard fast requirement for me) not only is it allowed but Carlos encouraged it! Saying something like “I love and trust my staff but I can’t be in all places at once. I want to know they’re being cared for even when I’m not here”. Instant relief on my part. I ended my tour with hugs from both of them. There was no pressure for me to sign up, no sales pitch. The next day I was sent a personalized video thanking me for my time. Just an extra step above and beyond anything I had experienced in my 6 month search to find the right place. I took a few days to think it over then invited Carlos and Svitlana drive out to my house to meet my Mom and do their assent. They brought her a small welcome gift with sugar free snacks (they had remembered she was a diabetic). After the visit they sent my mom a video walk thru of her her new home. I moved her in a week later.Since she has been there I have witnessed countless interactions of personalized care. She is checked on throughout the night and during the day if she is in her room. She is allowed freedom of choice. No one forces her to go to bed, stay in bed, or do anything she doesn’t want to do. Every interaction I’ve seen on camera has been positive. Due to the Dementia my mom is not always easy but THEY are always kind. I don’t know all the caregivers by name yet but I see their sweet faces greeting my mom with dignity and respect. Activities are offered daily. Both Carlos and Svitlana have checked in on me and given me updates on my mom when I’ve been unable to check on her myself. I was able to go on vacation with full faith and confidence that my mom would be cared for while I was away. If you’ve been looking, I know your struggle, I feel your pain. This is the place you’ve been looking for, this is your respite.

Walnut Place Senior Living was extraordinary from the first visit, and has continued to be extraordinary even as of today. It all started with the warm and heartfelt joy in receiving our exploratory visit back in May of this year. KaTrece Lee, Director of Admissions was so professional complemented by her genuinely kind and helpful persona. She was highly instrumental in making Walnut Place our choice. When we finally checked in, she even sent her Facilities Manager, Charles (?) to help us set the room and TV for us. Now that we have been here for almost four months, the nursing and care staff have proven to be extraordinarily caring, responsive and even patient with us. Thank You Walnut Place staff for all you do! (LRT & his aid.)

I would exercise caution if considering Walnut place. We noted a nursing shortage that made care very inconsistent. There appeared to be minimal hand-off between nurses which lead to staff being unfamiliar with patient management. Wound care was not optimal and I feel should have had more of a presence. I feel the wound care provider may have not had adequate patient time, which lead to complications.Communication with families is lacking on many fronts. Staff turnover seemed quite high.I feel PT and OT were also lacking in their comfort working with patients. They seemed on some occasions to minimally interact with patient and more observed patients doing exercise on their own. I would want more interaction and motivation for therapists.Perhaps with more nursing staff, more training, more therapy training, more staff retention, and higher involvement from providers this facility could be a better choice.

My mother-in-law has just been transferred to Walnut Place from another Texas facility. So far, interactions with the Walnut Place staff from practitioners to receptionists has been extremely positive. A recent incident occurred in which staff (Ms. Alex, Ms. Esmeralda, and Mr. Justin) went above and beyond their job description to help resolve the issue. It had been a while in this post-COVID world since I have encountered such professionalism and compassion.

My father has been a resident in the assisted living area for several years. The health aides are amazing and caring for my father. We have been very happy with the care he has received. I was amazed this week when my father fell at night and had to be transported to the hospital, thankfully across the street. The overnight aide called me at 3:00 a.m. Thankfully I live close and was at the hospital within 15 minutes. Five minutes later the Assisted Living Director, Carlos Mehlin, walked in. Wow! I couldn't believe he showed up just to make sure one of his "Peeps" was not alone in the hospital. You talk about going the extra mile... Thank you Carlos and the rest of the Assisted Living team for the care and concern you show my father!

WOW…. Walnut Place is AMAZING, Sevtlana and her team are the BEST, I brought my father here straight from Presbyterian of Dallas (Across the street, another fantastic reason) she and her team helped with the transition from Independent living to assisted care. This place is very clean, well lite and the floor plan is laid out very convenient for wheelchairs and scooters. They made me and my father feel comfortable from the get go, you will feel relived knowing that your loved one is safe and taken care of 10 out of 10, highly recommended…

When you have to make the decision to send a loved one to an assisted living facility, you try to put your loved ones interests first. Thankfully at Walnut they think of you as well as your loved one. Our loved one has been there for over 2 months, and it gives us such peace of mind how well they are taken care of, and its extra special when they check in on us too. Carlos and Svetlana have been exceptional with their care and availability not matter time or day of the week. They have the experience and understand all the issues you may come across, and have such compassion when they help you. You can tell how much they truly care. Our family highly recommends Walnut Place

Everyone I’ve encountered at Walnut Place has been helpful. When trusting your loved one to the care of others, it’s difficult to know who to trust. After some bad experiences at other facilities, the memory care unit at Walnut Place was suggested. They have been great. Attentive and engaging with the residents. Good communication. Would highly suggest you consider if you’re looking.

This past February I needed to move my mother from assisted living to memory care and I spent several weeks touring locations. Walnut Place seemed to be the best fit for her. The location, across the street from Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital and medical offices, is ideal. The pricing is very reasonable, the staff professional, the food nutritious, and the housekeeping and laundry services efficient. But, the Medical Director for Memory Care and Assisted Living, Carlos Medlin, is the real bonus. He is very accessible and responsive to residents, their families and also to his staff. Walnut Place Memory Care was a good decision and my mother is happy and thriving there.Cynthia J
