Cute store wonderfully decorated for Christmas (they do many seasonal displays throughout the year)! Come to admire the decorations and browse all their great and always changing selections. If you're looking for something special, mention it to Thomas and he'll probably be able to find it or something even better! From vintage clothing to antiques and furniture to holiday decor, La Maison Rouge has it all!

Pretty small antique shop. Pretty crowded inside. Some of the items could not even be seen due to things stacked in front of the other. They had more clothes in store than the other antique shops in the downtown shopping and walking district.

Mean people run this store. A lady shut the door literally in my face as we were trying to walk in. We were really excited to visit but not any more.

The absolute rudest shopkeeper ever. We were looking in the window and she came out and shouted “Do you have a problem??” Then my husband kindly asked, We were just wondering if you were open.” She rudly shouted “NO!” So sad. Ruined our impression of the day.

I’m a local, my parents have full time jobs and it’s not often we get to go to the stand for some shopping. when we tried to walk into the store and realized it was closed i said “ugh they’re always closed” just as a remark about how we always try and they’re always closed. all of a sudden the owner of the store SCREAMS from the inside of the shop, at me and my mother “ i am open7 days a week from blah blah to 4 pm!” with a horrible look on her face of just pure anger.i used to come to the store all the time and it was one of my favorites even despite the up charges. not anymore, that was incredibly frightening and rude and made my mother really upset which is the worst part. it ruined our evening.just a pure lack of customer service. i understand her point but not her anger.

After 3 days of trying to shop here and it being closed each time we finally saw an open sign and started looking at the clothes outside. The owner came out and exclaimed she was closed so we asked her what her hours were and she responded angrily with “I can open my shop whenever I want to!!!!!” Never have my husband and I experienced such unnecessary rudeness from a shop owner. After reading the other reviews this seems to be a trend. We will not be giving this place any business after what we experienced and certainly would not recommend it to anyone.

I always visit st. John antiques when I visit the island but this time I was with my 10 y/o cousin. She was telling me that she has never been to an antique store and really wants to check one out. We happened to be walking past this particular store. She and I walk in and there is this employee staring at us. I smile really big and say "hey! My girl here has never been to an antique store before and would like to check the place out" the lady says "oh" quite rudely then walks past us almost pusjing me out of the way and slams the door behind me. I was so angry with how rude that first impression was that she and I turned around. Because there was no way I was about the give money to a business that treats its customers so rudely. Maybe a nice response such as "thats so nice to take her shopping, if you have any questions let me know, but would you mind closing over the door behind you there." As an example.. would have gotten you a better rating and would have made you a sale.

Went by today with my daughter @ 3:54pm to do a little shopping and as soon as we approached the entryway to view the sidewalk items for sale the owner/worker came and shut the door metal door to the store in our faces. I asked what her business hours were since I didn't see them posted. The woman, very rudely replied, I close when I wanna close!" I stated, "OK, can you tell me your hours so we can come back?". The woman turned her back and walked away. I decided to take a photo of her business to post a review, she saw me do this and she came out upset stating I was being rude.I stated that as a local and also a business owner I wasn't going to let her actions go unaccounted for and that she was infact being the rude one. I'm not sure what is going on with this establishment or owner but that I most certainly would not be coming back and I will be certain to advise others against it as well. There is no need to be hostile to customers, scratch that, people in general, without a good reason. She had none.

The owner (I assume) was extremely rude and yelled at us for asking when she's opening. I never will come back to this place.

My group and I stopped outside of the shop for a few SECONDS to check our map and the lady came outside with a nasty attitude. She said she that she will open when she wants to and screaming at us for stopping by her shop. Because of her attitude and our (short) experience at La Maison Rouge, I do NOT recommend visiting or even standing outside of her store

The minute we walked in the owner snapped at us to close the door, and was rude the entire time. The store smelled like mildew, and things were crazy overpriced. Would not recommend.
