This review doesn't have anything to do with NPR or PBS but it's my impression of the people who make up Houston Public Media. We were fortunate to get a tour of their operation today. We were lucky enough to be escorted by Mary Ann Marucci, Senior Director, Advancement who did an excellent job of conveying the passion the people who make up HPM have for their content and being an asset to Houston and showing us where "the magic happens".Several people took time from their day to talk with us and answer our many questing including Jack Williams, Craig Cohen, Matt Harab and even Lisa Trapani Shumate. Making these connections made you feel good about Houston and HPM. They also make you appreciate what we have.I don't always agree with their political positions but I am sure glad they do what they do for us, you should too. They make Houston better.

Not to be confused with Houston Pubic Media.PBS is a great service, although it has to be said that every station should be like PBS and should be providing the public with a service, rather than just trying to make profit and sell commercial spots.Nevertheless thank goodness they exist, and long may they continue. We love some of their wildlife shows a little too much, even though they can be harrowing AF.In a supposed free country like America, PBS should be everything... instead of an afterthought.

Cannot say enough great things about Houston's own public radio and TV stations - they do a great job reporting what's important to Houstonians as well as providing a dose of national news and programming we can't find anywhere else. Quality organization right on the campus of University of Houston.

You guys do a great job, but you're traffic reports are terrible. Even as a native Houstonian, they are practically indecipherable. Complete sentences and inflection would help.
