I absolutely loved the Pizza. The marinara sauce was so tasty. The two owners were very nice. I recommend this place for any one trying to find a good slice of homemade pizza.

Clean, comfortable sweet spot in the high desert of Marathon, Texas with delicious, fresh hand-made pizza. An unassuming cafe so don't drive by because you will miss meeting the owners who are very gracious people. Thank you Susan and Wesley

I was starving when we pulled in and I was so thankful the pizza was good. We bought some beers across the street and sat outside to devour these slices. We had a nice view of the expansive spaces and even a train came by as we started eating. Everything in West Texas is a little different obviously but we really enjoyed this place.

Easily the best pizza in Texas, maybe the best pizza we've ever had. My husband and I split the 16" and had leftovers which never happens. We stayed in marathon but would definitely go out of our way to come back.

Building was definitely eccentric but don't let that fool ya...the pizza is really good!! We enjoyed hanging out while she made our pizza and brought it back to the gage to munch on.

Place made with hearth and imagination. You will just sit and looking around and enjoy that creativity around you. They have good cafe, pizza and the staff is really friendly.

After reading other reviews, we decided to stop in on our way to Alpine for the weekend. Definitely worth it. They were really nice and the pizza was so, so good. Made to order and big enough to take half of it home with you.

Tasty and friendly as you would expect in West Texas. Try it.

What a great treat. Tasty, freshly made pizza! We had the Hawaiian and it was delicious. Nice crust with tasty pineapple and ham. We added green peppers. Very filling meal for two. Highly recommend if you are looking for something to eat in Marathon.

Well, after reading the last review about the gloves, I would say the owner/staff pay attention to reviews. Gloves were definitely being worn. We got into town on 4/23 and they were closed. The sign said they would open mid-afternoon on 4/24.........so we looked forward to it.After reviewing other eating options in town, it looked like the restaurant and bar at the Gage Hotel were the only other options. Menu options looked good but something price wise out of NYC and this is rural TX.So we opted to visit here on early Tuesday afternoon (we had heard about running out of dough). Although the pizza prices were a bit steep, we realized it was a rural town with few options and I did not want to cook. The owner (?) staff was very friendly and nice! We decided on 2 - 12' and chose a very cool, eclectic enameled top table to dine on. All of the furnishings are rustic, vintage, and very cool. They also have limited outside seating. I would have died to take that table home with me!Pizza was hand made in a very open, visual, CLEAN environment! Nice to see! Also, many opportunities in the place to donate to many good causes, local schools, animals causes and mission efforts. Clearly run by someone with a heart!Pizza came and both we chose (meat lovers and vegetarian) were delicious! Extra shaker cheese available on the side as well as Red Hot Pepper Flakes (with a cute knit or crochet cover). We ate until we were full and had left over for breakfast this AM. It was EVER better this AM!If we are even back in Marathon and Big Bend Pizza is open we will visit! Highly recommend if you want an honest deal, good pizza and don't want a big restaurant menu.Thank you to the owner/operator. The power went out while we were there and she took it like a champ! Thank you for a great experience!

We ordered a 16” supreme pizza and it was delicious. Coffee was good. The owners are nice and very interesting to visit with. The building has a good vibe. We will be stopping by again!

Good pizza and large enough for three people to eat.

This place makes great pizza and is a good stop after leaving Big Bend. All handmade and the owners are very friendly. Located in an old service station, it's eclectic and fun atmosphere makes it a great stop.

Handmade pizza!!! The little place is amazing I stopped by with my family on a road trip, she takes her time to make everything herself! So good worth the trip!!!!

Outstanding Pizza at a reasonable price.
Soda from a plastic bottle. No Ice. I like fountain soda with ice with my pizza. Owner’s wife was not as friendly as expected. Ugly floor. Ambience was quirky. Asked for bacon topping but they only had Canadian bacon.

...considering the remoteness of the town, and being deep in rural Texas and not in NYC with a long established tradition, the pizza is actually quite goodIt is also one of the few places you can eat in the evening, if you are on a conservative budget (the Gauge hotel has a very fancy and $$$$ restaurant) or many mouths to feedOffers 12 and 16” of thin and crispy pizzaWell cookedNice tomato sauceAcceptable quality mozzarella cheeseOffers takeaway or dine in. The eating space is basic and would benefit of a fresh coat of paint... it is indeed on the rustic side, with mismatch furniture, but again you need to calibrate expectations to rural Texas... not San Antonio or Dallas trendy eateries I wish the (nice and friendly) lady that runs the place (and husband I guess) would wear gloves when preparing food (considering she is also the cashier). That would make a 5 ratingHowever pizza was good, fairly priced and thorough enjoyed... especially after hiking all day

We stopped here on our way back from Big Bend. We were craving Mexican food, but this was the only place open... Pizza is always a good alternative. The pizza was really good. It was a little hot, but I did not notice until we were driving down the road and the roof of my mouth hurt. Turns out I burned it. A small price to pay for such a good pie. This is an easy place to find in marathon, especially when coming down 385 from the park.

Fantastic pizza. Crispy crust with a delicious sauce. Tasty on any day but best when consumed after a long day of hiking in Big Bend!

We had hoped to go to the Buffalo Bar in Marathon because we'd read great things about it. But they were closed while we were passing through town so we stopped at Big Bend Pizza. The pizza was absolutely delicious. The sauce especially. I was wishing I had some more when we got back home the next day. I'm only giving it four stars because they really could do some things to improve the disjointed ambience. Tasty pizza!

So. You're way out in the middle of the desert, looking for a decent place to eat. This is it. The pizza is very good with a thin, crispy crust. The bathroom is immaculate. The dining area is smallish but there is plenty of room between the tables, so it doesn't feel small and crowded. It's a simple operation. You choose and pay at the register and then the lady directs you to a well stocked fridge to get your drink. Then she starts making your pizza from scratch. Takes about 10-15 minutes at most.

My wife and I were traveling with our friends to visit Big Bend. We stopped at this place and let me tell you, this was by far THE BEST PIZZA we’ve had. It is worth the long drive. Fantastic place. Very clean, the owners are very friendly as well. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

We got a supreme pizza and it was super delicious. We arrived before opening time but the owner opened up early for us, rolled out fresh dough, added toppings and baked it - so fresh and tasty! In fact, it was better than the great pizza I ate while in Italy last month - although it was delicious too, the one here in tiny Marathon was even better!

Best Pizza ever! I grew up in San Antonio and moved to Alpine 12 yrs ago. I love Pizza! This is the best pizza I have tasted in a long time! Crust is the best part.
