After seeing all the five star reviews, I feel like maybe some of these people were either bribed or blackmailed with their own possessions. This was a horrible experience for me. First, to call these men unprofessional would be an insult to unprofessionals everywhere. I got a phone call 20 minutes after their scheduled arrival time by a man who took mono-syllabic speech to new heights, saying that they would be there in another 30 minutes. When I hung up the phone, I barely understood what he had said, and put it together afterwards. What I CLEARLY understood after his arrival was the brazen and repeated demands for a TIP. Demands that continued right to the end while he stood there staring at me. A tip on top of the already exorbitant fees I was paying for two hours of two people's time. During those two hours (I paid for the minimum of three), every request I made for ANY adjustment in their hastened, violent activities, was met with eye roles, exasperated sighs and/or outright refusals. I felt like a legitimate businessman, trying to stand up to unionized longshoreman. I was paying them, but I still had no power. At the end it was like they were late for an appointment. They didn't ask where I wanted any of the heavy items and left them wherever was most convenient. And in one case actually moved some thing that I had placed where I wanted it and actually put something else heavy in that spot. It was surreal. Lastly, and I feel that this is a small complaint, but I feel that movers should know that not all of us are professional packers with bubble wrap to burn. So, when they pick up a box that clearly has a right side up and then proceed to indiscriminately flip it in literally every direction before throwing it onto a dolly and then throwing other boxes on top, it shows an utter lack of respect for people's belongings. All said and done I was one man moving into a one bedroom apartment and I paid $500 for two guys to throw my stuff around like garbage. Never again. I hear Task Rabbit has some great people you can hire.

No concerns at all from beginning of process till the end...friendly and informative when discussing the move with office staff...did just what they said they would. Moving day was so easy and we appreciate the care with our belongings and how things were placed in each room, leaving space to walk and items carefully stacked, leaned, and organized. This has allowed us to unpack without the hassle of moving things around in order to get around and we can see what we have. (We had also packed carefully ourselves, so keep that as an option and factor in how well you can help the movers keep things organized.) Costs were as quoted and promised on follow-up call...comparable rates with other companies who chose not to respond to our requests for specific quotes online and left our voicemail messages unanswered. THRIFTY MET AND EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS! THANK YOU!

I was impressed with Thrifty Moving & Storage from my first call. I had previously called a few other moving companies and they gave me quotes of average room size and pounds. I talked with Eric and told him that I would be packing/boxing myself and that I was needing furniture moved and boxes. He gave me a quote for 3 hrs with 2 movers for a local move. I was happy with it and booked with them and gave them a deposit. Prior to moving day, Jennifer called to confirm. Moving day came and all went well. On time, furniture packed with care and nothing broken or chipped. I did run over my 3 hr quote which I thought I would but in the end, cost wise it was reasonable. I highly recommend Thrifty Moving & Storage for your move.

These guys are great! I moved recently in the heavy rain and it couldn't have gone smoother. They were very professional and incredibly efficient. It was the best moving experience of my life, I would definitely use again!

We moved the day before Thanksgiving on November 23, 2022. The team which came out was extra careful, professional, courteous! The team was led by Victor and JP. We were VERY HAPPY with their service. Price was even less than what we expected! We would highly recommend them for your local move!

The worst. Do not use them. I don't know what to say because it was horrible. The movers were great but the staff and everyone behind the scenes was miserable. They lied to me and gave me false information.

My mother passed away and I needed quick service to move her studio apt contents in order to avoid more rent. They squeezed me in the next day. They did not waste time and took good care of the contents. Not a scratch on anything.

Outstanding movers!!! I've used them twice, service the first time was great and opted to use them a second time. The men are careful, above and beyond. Showed up on time, no mess and professional. If you are looking for movers who are friendly, take extra care with your furniture, on time and affordable... book these guys!!!

Great, straightforward service. They sent an estimator to take inventory of the house, which I prefer to others doing it over the phone or the new trend of Zoom walkthroughs. After that, the crew came when expected, had everything loaded in about 90 min. (for our house, anyway) and was just as efficient unloading and getting items where they should be at the new place. Plenty of packing and protection, which for an hour's drive (Concord - SJ) was appreciated. Miscellaneous tip: Their listed office address is Concord, but the crew drove from San Leandro, so don't expect a 15-minute drive like I did (not a negative, as it all worked out).

Our move with Thrifty was seamless (and how many times can you actually say that about moving?). Scheduling was easy and all details & costs were explained clearly. Our moving crew was great... on time, efficient, respectful, and very friendly. They came fully prepared with moving pads & wrap for our furniture and the best part, wardrobe boxes for our clothes. We really appreciated their help and them going above and beyond to help us figure out spacing and furniture size/door way issues. We will definitely recommend them in the future!

I needed to move from my apartment and put a fair amount of stuff in a storage unit in a different city. I contacted Thrifty movers and they were very responsive and priced reasonably. I was a bit nervous since I had to move by a specific date. They were so professional! I got a bid by email that was exactly as discussed. They confirmed the move date and called the day before. They showed up right on time, with an extra person, and got to work fast. The movers were polite and treated my stuff with care. It was pouring rain, so I thought it would be a mess, but they covered everything as they took it outside. They made fast work of the move, drove quickly to the new city and unloaded fast. The cost was only a few more dollars then the estimate, but very fair. I would definitely recommend them.

The movers were on time and amazing workers. They actually ran with the boxes and furniture which made the move as quick and easy as possible. Since we moved into storage, we will be using them again when our house becomes available.

Hired these guys at the recommendation of our real estate agent to load our pods for the move cross country. They were hands down the best movers I've every used. I only wish I had them on the other end to unload.

I moved from Concord to San Francisco and used Thrifty Moving services. From taking down my "inventory" to giving me an estimate. Definitely recommend using them for your next move. Want to give a special shout out to my movers Efren and Mario. I could not have asked for better movers. They nice, respectful and very professional.
