It's refreshing to find a shop like this! It had been years since I've seen new releases dedicated to art music. The man working was incredibly knowledgeable, a true aficionado. I'd highly recommend this shop to anybody, whether they're a newcomer developing an interest in classical music or an avid listener. The collection had well-known composers and works (e.g., WA Mozart, Tchaikovsky) and contemporary composers such as Esenvalds. Used and new CDs were available. Additionally, they had performances on DVD. Overall, it was a lovely store and I intend to return.

I have been to this store on several occasions. If you are a classical music enthusiast, novice, professional, or anywhere in between, they can help guide you. From the classics such as Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, etc to the more obscure, they can help you find what you are looking for. Also, for many CD's, they are willing to play them over the speakers in the store so you can get a preview before you buy. I would recommend anyone to this store. It may not be as cheap as online, but the ability to converse with a knowledgeable staff so you can really find what you want more than makes up for any potential increased cost.

Joel's is a, yes, old-fashioned CD store, for those who can remember. You can get things cheaper on the net, but you can't browse, or get good advice (EVERYTHING gets five stars on the internet!), or be pleasantly surprised by something new. The folks at Joel's are nice as can be, and they support local classical music. If all you want is cheap, you know where to shop. If you want service, go to Joel's.
