They allow pets to be left alone in the rooms, so expect barking and noise all night and morning. Front desk did nothing to resolve. It sounded like someone was strangling a dog for over an hour while I was trying to sleep.
Rooms: Rooms and common areas run down and dated.

The hotel room smelled bad. Housekeeping literally replaced the towels, they never cleaned the tub or replaced toilet paper. Front desk people were very nice and offered to change my room, but I only had 1 more night so it was pointless.

Beds were comfortable and clean, staff were helpful and professional. Breakfast is not included in the room price. We stayed a night on the 4th floor, and the first room we went into had some kind of smell. (Mildew? Smoke? Chlorine from overlooking the pool? Couldn't really tell.) The front desk staff were excellent and put us in a different room on the same floor, but the second room was also smelly.
Side note: Google Maps has no idea how to get you to the parking lot of this hotel. The only entrance is from W Rieck Rd.

REFUSE TO TAKE OWNERSHIP/ACCOUNTABILITY BY REFUNDING IN FULL OR PARTIALLY THE MONEY PAID FOR THE ROOM.
THE GENERAL MANAGER SHELLY IS YET TO SPEAK TO ME AFTER SEVERAL REQUESTS FROM MYSELF & IHG GUEST RELATIONS.
KATY THE ASSISTANT GM IS DISMISSIVE OF ME & MY CONCERN([in my opinion] implies she is used to hearing about bug complaints). SHE STATED "THIS IS EAST TEXAS AND THERE ARE BUGS HERE." QUINTIN(front desk) WHO CAME TO THE ROOM ---SAYS "I HAVE THESE AT MY HOUSE TOO". UMMMM....I DON'T AND ESPECIALLY NOT CRAWLING ON ME IN MY BED.
SHELLY/KATY(per their response to IHG Guest Relations) SAY BECAUSE I MOVED ROOMS THIS SATIFIES THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ME. THAT IS THE BARE MINIMUM THE HOTEL COULD DO IS MOVE ME. WHO IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO STAY IN A ROOM THAT HAS BUGS IN THE BED? NOBODY.
GM SHELLY DID NOT CALL ME ON MONDAY(9/09) TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE EXPERIENCE OR INCONVENIENCE. I HAD TO CALL THEM ON TUESDAY (9/10). SHELLY TOLD ME THEY DISCUSSED IT ON MONDAY MORNING BUT MADE NO CALL TO ME THAT DAY.
TODAY(9/17) I SPOKE TO IHG GUEST RELATIONS & STILL NO OTHER RESPONSE FROM HOTEL MANAGEMENT.

One the best Holiday Inns in the country. Have stayed with them from Rhode Island to Nebraska as I travel a lot for business.

Rooms: Service and rates
Walkability: Close walking distance to restaurants.
Food and drinks: Everything was provided by the hotel for our family reunion. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I stayed two days at this hotel. My room was ok. The black African woman at the front desk was polite, kind and has great customer service. She works a lot i think she deserves some kind of appreciation award because of her outstanding customer service. Housekeeping didn't come to the room so i called the front desk to see if housekeeping was working. I needed towels and thought maybe she could clean the bathroom. The front desk clerk said she would let housekeeping know i needed towels. Housekeeping came and brought towels and didn't clean the bathroom matter of fact i didn't see housekeeping come on the floor where i was staying so i suggest you bring your own towels and your cleaning stuff along with your vacuum cleaner. Housekeeping can do better with cleaning the rooms and hotel overall. I felt they could've knocked on the door and asked if you needed service like every hotel do.
