“I love going to the Bookstore. I usually do not know what I am looking for, so I love the ambiance of the bookstore. To wander the shelves and read the backs of the books, hear people talking about books and the excitement of choosing my next read. I love how Barnes and Noble has employee picks marked and how the employees are so helpful and always willing to share their opinions ?❤️”

“The staff are so friendly and helpful. Generally really fair prices as well. The place is massive and atmosphere is magical. It's used and new bookstore heaven!! Only two things I wish for are a coffee shop inside and slightly newer selection in the fantasy genre (but I think they are working on that. It's better every time I go).”

“They were great at greeting me and directing me where to go when I arrived, and had to wait several minutes before a checker came to the til. It really wasn't a big deal, just an opportunity for better zoning and communication.”

“I went to the bookstore after having zero luck in finding detailed maps of a certain area/geologic feature. I had tried online groups, RM, REI, NatGeo and others but nothing aided in my search.I knew I would find what I was looking for in terms of physical maps but was surprised at the help I received in my quest upon entering the bookstore. The gentleman walked me through every question I had showing great enthusiasm! He even pulled up some online resources and gave me some tips/tricks.I don’t have the words to express my gratitude for his time and service but will say Thank You for a job well done!”

“This is my most favorite place to go! This place is so close to my heart, it's where I go for all of my recovery supplies and it has so much to offer. Every single person in the world should know about this store and shop here. They have EVERYTHING you need. All things to do with AA and other 12 step programs, books on codependency, divorce, co-parenting, eating disorders, and everything else under the sun you might be struggling with, and all sorts of cards that are so beautiful and unique, and coins to celebrate milestones, and beautiful decorations for your home unrest lift your spirits... I could go on and on. I love this store and I hope it never ever closes. ?”

“While the clerk had an unforgettable mustache, he had a burden that dragged my spirit into whatever hell he was dwelling in.Frankly, I did almost leave shortly after arriving due to the swift dragging into the depths of another's despondency.Instead, a quick prayer won my freedom and I found a few things that others would need. Some in just an hour or so, unbeknownst to me!”

“Well I think the music could play a little louder because I don't like to hear everybody's conversations in there it's like a library it's nice and clean the pictures and scriptures and lots of fun books and food.. I would like to see a whole the whole thing of scriptures with the tap sticking out and journal available with lines. I I I I I did a research in that store. And I didn't I didn't find the combination that I was looking for so I had to buy more books maybe that's what they're I had women commenting on my guests on my stuff I was buying that's pretty normal for a cashier... I didn't look at everything I just think that the music can be a little louder because you have if you have to pass gas or burp or if you have a conversation that you know everybody to hear I will turn up the music just a little bit louder. I'm sure some older folks would disagree.. I like desert bk .their make up like a purse I guess that .. pens and papers in their.aprons”

“Great bookshop! It had all the books I was looking for. It’s cozy but much bigger than I expected, with a kids section and small trinkets and games throughout. I’ll definitely come back.”

“This store has always had a very friendly staff. It's not as large as some of the ones in Utah, but it has everything for a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here. At least, I've never had to go without, other than during Covid, which gets a pass from me.”

“We visit Gardner village at least once a month to see their displays and have stopped by the Storybook Nook many times while there. The environment is very open and kid friendly. They have a play section for children that is fun, especially if you need a minute to look for gift ideas. :) My only complaint is that they have a lot of toys and I wish they would carry more books. We love supporting local book sellers and the owner always gives great recommendations about books, there just isn't as big of an inventory as some of their local competitors. This store is also better for kids 8 and younger as they mostly have picture books.”

“I was greeted with the door being open for me and a welcome.I also appreciated that they were able to direct me to the specific place in the store for the product that I was most likely to buy. Good store.”

“I went to find art books on specific painters. Though you wouldn’t think it, the store had many art related books particularly of regional and local artists. The attendant kept coming up with various art related books that were so different than other places because of the highly regional slanting of this book store. Very helpful particularly because I gave them what initially seemed like a difficult task.”

“The most peaceful shopping experience around besides the variety of gifts for family, friends, neighbors and self and almost all at a discount. Friendly and helpful staff top off the pleasant experience.”

“This book store has been around for 60+years I believe the owner said. It has so much merch that the goods spill out onto the sidewalk. It was a jaw dropping experience for one such as me who loves loves bookstores especially privately owned ones. Everywhere I looked something even more tantalizing than the last thing I saw jumped out at me. I could spend years in there and probably not see all the stock. What a fun place to spend a Saturday afternoon!! Bring some$$ though you'll be sad if you don't.”

“I’m probably a little biased because I used to work for Ken at the original store on 2nd East for a year (the store has now almost completely moved to the Leonardo museum). Before I worked at Ken Sanders I used to frequent the store from the time I was 2 weeks old (my parents are also dear friends of Ken’s) they have a great selection of mostly used books and had a free book wall at the old location! All of my coworkers were extremely kind, helpful and fun people to work with, especially Gia and Ashley. The staff always do their best to help customers with anything they need. Ken is also a very kindhearted man and treated me very well, he has a bit of an eccentric reputation but if you really get to know him he’s a very kind and knowledgeable person. The only downsides I ever felt at Ken’s was Ken sometimes bought more books than we could handle stocking, making the place a little messy, we also only had new books in a database, all of the used books were just shelved, so if something was put in the wrong place, it could be very hard to find it again, and there was no A/C in the original store, just swamp coolers which made summer hard, but A/C is not a problem anymore at the new location at the Leonardo, I worked a few shifts there just before I left Ken’s last June and the place is well taken care of, clean, and kept cool. I’m so glad they are moving to a place where they’ll get more business!! All in all, a great little independent bookstore that has a special place in my heart and always will! I’ll miss the charm of the original shop but look forward to continue buying books at the new store!! I highly recommend going there!!”
