I had the pleasure of coming across the most customer service oriented employee named Diane Traverse. I have been in customer service for over 45 years and I know a natural. Most companies have employees that don’t seem to care about the company or the customer. Thank you Talbots for having a caring and knowledgeable employee. I will be back!

I have been a Talbots customer for over 50 years. I like the manager at the Murray store. She is always friendly and helpful. The sales assistant who “helped” me today was not. I entered the store on crutches and toured the store selecting items to try on. No one offered me a dressing room or help with the clothes I was trying to carry while managing the crutches. I was shocked.After getting a room and while I tried on items the sales associate did check on me which I appreciated. After trying the clothes I asked to place an online order as the store did not have my sizes.The associate was working online to fill the order and I was looking at the catalog for descriptions and sizes. Sizes in the computer were numeric 14w, 16w etc. and in the catalog they were X , 1X etc. I would request the X size and she would tell me it wasn’t available? It was but in a numeric size. She needed to translate the sizes so I was sure I was getting the correct size. She was rude and impatient. We finally got that squared away but she repeatedly argued with me. No one raised their voices but it was unpleasant pushback.As she was wrapping up the sale she did not ask me what shipping method I needed and selected standard without asking. Because I am leaving on a trip I needed expedited. When I told her this she gave me a number and told me to correct it myself by calling Talbots. I expected a bit more help with a $700 sale. I would expect more help with a $10 sale.I went out to my car and called Talbots. The sales associate on the phone was very helpful but had to cancel the old order and create a new one . She told me the store associate could have assisted me with this but clearly she couldn’t be bothered. I was pretty shocked. I was the only one at her desk and on the floor so it wasn’t like 6 people or anyone was waiting for her attention.I am so disappointed. I agree with the other reviews about customer service and the training that is needed at this store. The manager needs to fix this.When stores get the “Talbots “ service right it’s a pleasure to shop. As an FYI I have also worked at Talbots in the distant past and know the organization values good service. This store can and should do better .

Took my 82 year old mother here to shop for clothes. The sales ladies were rude and didn’t help at all. We picked out some clothes and we had to hunt down someone to open a dressing room. The sales lady gave us attitude acted like we were bothering her. No sales assistance or suggestions. We made our purchase but in the future we’ll take our business elsewhere.

My mother loves Talbots it’s the only place she shops. There isn’t a store near her home so she shops there while traveling. In the last 10 years I’ve gone shopping with her to 8 different Talbot locations in different states and the sales staff have always been so kind and friendly. This was not the case at the location in Murray, it was one of the worst shopping experiences ever. Sales staff were so ignorant and rude. Simple requests like asking for a different size were met with obvious annoyance and passive aggression. So disappointing and will never shop at this location again

Love this store! Clothing of great quality. Discount sales abound year around. The associates are very attentive but not smothering. They are attentive and helpful when you're trying items on. The associates are prompt to bring you different sizes, colors or other item suggestions when you're in the dressing room. Store offers sizes from petite to plus size. Incredibly convenient parking. Same wonderful manager for 25 which says a lot about how well the company treats their associates.

Sales associates are nice if you are buying something but not if returning. Talbot's will only take returns on new unworn clothing and will not take a return on a defective zipper on a skirt? I tried returning a skirt ( wore it three times) with a defective zipper and was told "NO", with no explanation at all. The sales lady told me to take it to a tailor and get it fixed. I'll be headed across the street to Nordstrom from now on, that same problem at Nordstrom would not be a problem at all, I would have been treated better and have a new skirt!
