One of the better Indian grocery stores in the valley. It is a little congested and a small place to walk around but you will be able to find most of the stuff you are looking for.

I have been here a handful of times since living in India and having Indian family members and wanting to cook authentic Indian food at times. The people at this store have never been friendly to me. I recently had someone pick something up for me since this store is quite a distance from me, and I was shocked when they gave me the receipt. $40 for 2 frozen blocks of paneer. I would have told them not to buy it had I any idea how hugely they were being ripped off! They did not know what it should cost and they were taken advantage of. Shameful.

Apna Baazar, the Indian grocery store in SLC, is an absolute gem for anyone in search of authentic Indian products and ingredients. The store's extensive selection is truly impressive, offering a wide range of items that cater to every culinary need and craving. Whether you're looking for rare spices to elevate your homemade curries, exotic snacks to satisfy your taste buds, or fresh produce to recreate the flavors of India in your kitchen, Apna Baazar has it all. It's like stepping into a little piece of India right here in Decatur, and I couldn't be happier with the variety and quality of products they offer. This store is a true haven for those who appreciate the rich and diverse world of Indian cuisine.

Worst experience ever! They sold a pack of urad dal with full of insects and when I called them the person was like some packets are bad by default. He also mentioned 30% of the dal packs were bad and they were still selling it. He was just shouting and was super rude and kept on saying that some packs are not good (which I understand is, it’s okay for Apna Bazar to sell their own items that have multiple tiny insects). Please, please do consider purchasing items (especially dals from Apna Bazar). And I think this person also needs to be educated about basic customer service skills. For sure never ever recommending this pathetic Indian store.

I would give 0 star as there is no option for negative. They sell expired items and that too very well aware of it. We got bunch of stuffs and the Dal had insects in it. Upon calling and explaining them, the person acknowledged that they have 30% stuffs which has issues and they know about it, he also mentioned there is no refund, which we didn’t even care about. The brand was Apna Bazaar and on hearing that, the person on the phone call (male person, first he named himself Joe, and when I said he is the owner and I wanted his name, he said Raj or Dev) started shouting as if it’s not his business.Worst experience ever!Certainly this will be brought to Consumer department as they are selling the items to consumers being very well aware of the expired dates and issues. We threw all the stuffs.Don’t go to this store and save yourself and your family.

I would give them 0 stars if I can. The owner has decided and even after customers had paid and have gotten their change back, he can stop them from leaving and doubling the price on the product in question. My parents had gone shopping for a product and after confirming the price of the product with the cashier they had her ring up the products and paid for it and even got their change back. After that the owner decided that the price was too low and stopped them from leaving the store. He said the price was double of what they had actually paid. He stopped them from picking up the product that they had already paid from the counter and told them that they either have to pay the new price or he will have to return the product. They got their money back and walked out. When we called the owner to confront him about it, he said that as long as they were still in the store, even though they had already paid for the product, it still belong to him and he has the right to stop them. These are unethical practices that should not be practiced in business. The owner is highly unethical and does not deserve our patronage.

We were welcomed by a friendly indian shopkeeper in this Indian grocery shop. They were serving complementary Indian masala Tea at the counter. We brought indian Porata, bottle guard and a few spices.

Every time I buy groceries here, I find excellent deals on practically all of the items, and they are also quite fresh(fresh meat and veggies every Tuesday and Friday). The personnel is really kind, and the store has customer-friendly rules.
