Nearly the best prototype for a genuine Vermont eatery. For breakfast, only Drewski's On the River, is its equal or slight better. The Creek House is more genuinely a diner in that it has a service counter with spinning stools and a glass show case for pastry and other delights for eat-in or take out. Aside from the delightful variety of patrons, ranging from real local Vermonters , to well-to-do's from the Woodstock area, skiers and late rising young romantics, the place sports what we have found to be the best indicator of a good Vermont eatery --- the lot, parking area and indeterminate walk to the diner doorway is a jumble of ruts, mud and possibly treacherous ice. All of these barrier are, however, made insignificant by the breakfast in the offing upon arrival and in fond retrospect upon departure. Service is prompt and gracious, even when the place is crowded. The breakfasts are available in wide variety, without a selection that would disappoint. Perhaps best of all, your syrup is Vermont maple for which you need not ask or pay a dollar extra.

We were hungry and come upon this diner. It was a nice little find. We had burgers that were nice and juicy and some of the best onion straws I've ever had.

Great " Family " Diner. Large choice of options and serving sizes are more than adequate. Friendly service and a great atmosphere. Plan to visit again.

My concern is the portions for over nine dallor for the number 4 you get two eggs tst homefries bacon well for starters my bacon was burned I was lucky if I had 6 home fries my homage tst was burnt and they only had two waitresses and it seemed like it took for ever for my boyfriend to get a refill on coffee I 've eaten here before and not even close to being this bad

Love how everyone is treated like family at the diner.

As someone who loves omelets but seldom gets one made the way I want it without sending it back, the chef did it right the first time. It was amazing. Thanks so much!

My friend and I made a spur of the moment decision to stop for a late breakfast at "The Creek House Diner' and thankfully were not too late to place a breakfast order, or as our nice and effecient waitress said with a smile, "you made it iin the nick of time!" ..our breakfast, which included pancakes, sausage, omelette homefries, and biscuits and gravy, did not disappoint - it was, in fact, one of the most exceptional, delicious 5* breakfast experiences to date! If our travels take us anywhere near "The Creek" again, we'll try lunch!

This diner was just what we needed after losing Eaton’s. It is a clean, stylish small diner with counter seating as well as about 12 booths/tables. The food and coffee were really good and the staff was so welcoming. We ordered breakfast and everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The prices were a bit high (our bill came up to $44.96 for two breakfasts and two coffees) but the breakfast options are limited in the area so there is little competition. They also have a case with cake and pie if you’re just looking to satiate a sweet tooth!

Very cute diner. Food was pretty good. The home fries were a little salty so I ate them with my eggs. The French toast was very good and came with maple syrup. The coffee, not very good. I would skip it and get something good from a coffee shop instead. Prices seemed a little high, but then again, there isn't much around this area. So for the convenience of pretty good food in a relatively rural area I do recommend!

I found this place searching for restaurants enroute. What a fantastic find. Service was great! The food was very good, especially the desserts. And as the review indicated, the prices were also good. Great value for your money. Oh, and clean. So very clean.

Despite being busier than a bee in springtime, the 2 waitresses (and kitchen staff) serving this ~50 seat restaurant managed to maintain a solid flow of service the entire time I was here. People were pouring in and out the door like water, yet this impeccably oilef machine never skipped a beat. Combine that with quality food and great value and you have what may be the best restaurant in the upper valley.

Never been here before. Stopped out of desperation from hunger while driving on the unfamiliar back roads. To my surprise this place was awesome. Service was fast and friendly and the food was very fresh and tasty. And I know what I’m talking about. I own an award winning restaurant in update N.Y.

Went to dinner with wife. Have been there before and it was OK. This time better. It`s not fancy , just simple , tasty, food. Waitress was nice, food came quick and they had cold beer. I ordered Chicken Parm dinner and was glad I did. Was better than one I had at a more upscale Italian Restaurant recently I would repeat and look forward to it

Love the character and old time diner look and feel to it even though it was just recently renovated, being able to park my KW big truck is a huge plus as well as my little girl getting to sit at the counter and spin on the stool. Now with all that said, the food and the people are what really made it special, we will be back (often).. Thank you!

We went for the first time since the fire and had dinner. We waited 30+ minutes for food. I ordered one of the specials; country fried chicken. It was overcooked, hard on the outside, and the breading just tasted like grease. My husband's steak bomb was just ok (the portion was huge though). The fries are great. Having said all this, our waitress was wonderful and very understanding. She took my food away asked asked what else I wanted. I got a grilled cheese (in the spirit of time since we already waited so long and my husband was nearly done eating). That was really good. They felt bad and it reflected on the bill.

I hadn't been to the Creek House Diner in probably 20 years, but we were looking for a new breakfast place, so decided to try it. Very small, with a cozy counter for about 8 and maybe 15 tables in all. Not overly decorated, which was nice for a change, unlike some other local places that are over the top in "Vermont country" decor. We were greeted with an array of tempting looking pies in a refrigerated case facing the door...yum. Definitely promising! The waitress greeted us warmly, and set about with menus and our drink orders. She was the only server and jumped between tables counter, and a steady stream of locals getting a coffee or one of the home made doughnuts. An omelette and a breakfast burrito was the order of the day. My companion's breakfast burrito was nicely toasted and chock full of meat, cheese, salsa, and more. My Mexican omelette was equally well stocked with veggies, salsa, jalapenos, and more. I don't eat cheese, so that was left off. The homefries were definitely NOT from a bag, and were crispy and delicious, as was my crispy bacon. The prices were slightly higher than what we generally pay, but the quality of the food and service was definitely worth it. 20 years is way too long an absence. We will definitely be back!

We were on a road trip and hungry and stopped at the first place we saw and were VERY glad it was The Creek House Diner! Delicious fresh fruit cup, eggs cooked to perfection and home made hash. My husband had eggs Benedict, which was a special, and he also enjoyed his breakfast. Friendly service and the coffee was wonderful too.

Friendly staff, very yummy food. They have Boars Head breakfast meats... delicious. The marble rye toast is great with real butter. Very comfortable and clean.

The Creek House Dinner has some really good food, and if you need any proof of that just take a look at 2 on a Sunday, well after a lunch rush should be over, and see what it takes to get a seat. Despite being so slammed, the service was fantastic. If you are going to be in the area, I highly recommend you check it out.

Excellent. Try the corned beef. The best I've had. Careful, though, it's not that canned dogfood stuff.

What a pleasant surprise. Had whole belly clams for 14.95, and a piece of sweet potato cheesecake! Tonya was very nice and made sure she mentioned dessert. Place was very clean. Made for a very nice lunch! Will be back for sure.
