This place has fast turnaround and generally the best prices near stratton. But I felt compelled to leave a review because of how nice the staff are - super helpful with binding adjustments and rentals. Highly recommend for all stratton ski needs!

We stopped with some friends. We were not shopping but they were. The staff was super helpful with providing plenty of expertise when it came to selecting ski boots, and skis. They went through a home process of trying on different items to ensure a proper fit. This seems to be a place where many skiers stop to pick up their needs.

If you want boots that perform at their highest level and are comfortable. Like really comfortable. Don’t waste your time any where else. Go here. Boots are your most important piece of gear-100%. These guys do it right the first time. And shout out to the tuners downstairs — the only place I trust. So worth it.

My daughter Abbey came into your shopabout a week and 1/2 ago to get help with recently purchased new ski boots. I ( her dad ) drove her down the access road and to your shop because my car was the only one available. One of Abbey’s boots was a bit uncomfortable in the heel.Abbey got Very Lucky! Nick was available to help her!Nick spent more than an hour with Abbey making 5 or 6 small, incremental adjustments to see if her heel felt better.I think that after the 2nd or 3rd adjustment,most normal boot specialists would have thrown up their hands and walked. Nick did the opposite. Nick just kept asking for more and more feedback, after which he trekked upstairs to make yet another adjustment.The bottom line is Abbey and her husband Hunter are currently out in Montana at Big Sky, and they are having a blast.And Abbey LOVES her new ski boots!!!Thanks Nick! for your patience, and skill and professionalism!! Many specialty shops--mountain biking, fishing, paddling, skiing--are at best a bit surly or at worst incompetent/uninterested in your performance in the sport. This place is the opposite: supportive, experienced professionals who want to help you enjoy skiing as much as you can, no matter what level you're at. You'll see lots of signed thank-you's on the walls from Olympians and pro racers, but it's also the perfect place to get your first pair of boots.I'm not exaggerating when I say that these guys are the reason I can ski and I can't thank them enough. I have a relatively hard foot to fit, and struggled for years to find a boot that wouldn't shut down my foot. Three other boot fitters, tons of time stretching, grinding, and supporting--nothing worked. I genuinely thought I'd never be able to ski comfortably and would just have to give up on progressing or enjoying the sport.Thankfully, Nick spent the time with me and got me in the right boot and the right orthotic. He was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of my questions/show me how it was done/help me make decisions about my equipment. Chance gave me a great tune, helped my fianceé get her boot fit perfect, and was also very kind and helpful. I've brought two friends here, will bring many more, and will continue to get all my ski/boot work done here for as long as I can ski.

My girlfriend recently purchased an Atomic Helmet and Visor combo for $300 from this store. During the very first use it happened to be snowing on the mountain and when walking to the lift, she had the helmet on with the visor up. Snow immediately got stuck to the inside of the lens by falling through the gap in the visor and helmet and froze. She could not see the entire way down, nor could wipe it out. It was an awful experience and the helmet did not work as advertised. Upon contacting this store to discuss a return, the staff was extremely rude and said "no, no, I've just decided that I'm not going to take this helmet back." They won't accept a return for a piece of malfunctioning equipment - this just isn't right. It's actually infuriating. The store should know it's products better. This helmet isn't suitable for snowing conditions, which is ridiculous for a ski helmet. They left it up to us to contact Atomic. We didn't even use the helmet for more than 20 minutes. Absurd. I'd give zero stars if I could.

These guys are seriously the best. Came in today and purchased a new set of boots that were heat molded to perfectly fit my foot, they also adjusted the bindings on my skis for free and on the same day I got the boots. They all really know their stuff, prices are fair, and service is excellent. My only regret is not getting my boots here years ago. Anyone looking for boots should buy them here.

Came in with a pair of boots that were not fitted correctly at all for my feet and Nick and George spent lots of time with me adjusting the boot. They were a great help and very informative about the process. Looking forward to hitting the slopes with my newly adjusted boots and testing them out. I would 1000% recommend this shop to anyone in the area.Edit: After a few days of skiing on the boots I can say my toes are saved!!!

We showed up in a bind - the boots my wife had recently purchased elsewhere were extremely uncomfortable and we were in need of a boot fitting. Nick was sympathetic of our situation and remedied the situation quickly - A real pro. Huge thanks to the Startingate team!

I went here to salvage my ski boots which were improperly fit somewhere else, enough to require foot PT to recover. Gary spent *hours* with me, patiently adjusting and tuning the boot fit until it was perfect. For the first time in years, my feet felt great while skiing. I am in awe, baffled at how such amazing service was only $75.

Our grown son bought boots in Colorado that were not fitted properly. We called and made an appointment and Gary spent well over 2 hours redoing them and then tweaking until they were just right. He charged no extra but went far and beyond what was reasonable.Many thanks!
