Beautiful scenery, meditative quiet, and green every where you look.

Dilapidated infrastructure but centrally located in Essex Junction. The train system in the US frustrates me.

US Taxpayers have given billion$ to Amtrak and the exterior appearance of this station is still a total unappealing dump. Broken windows, trash scattered around, no relevant train signage (the historic sign doesn’t count for current travels) and again: one must take big steps up to get on board - after the Amtrak device folks yell at customers where to go to board (confused customers since there is no signage). Only two ⭐️stars⭐️ because there was a small, heated waiting room and a nice older gent there manning it proving some info - but these seemed to be lock-and-promise types of covers over a spot that needs a total refresh for an improved and better traveler’s experience.

I have never wrote a train before it was an exciting experience for me the staff was a professional the trip was beautiful and the timing was really expedient. I got stuck in St Albans Vermont and did not want to wait for a bus, and like an angel I saw Amtrak and I paid $12. The conductor helped me reach the office and I arranged to pay for the train ride. In 30 minutes I was home back in my beloved Burlington. now when I do travel the other parts of Vermont I will be taking Amtrak thank you for being my guardian angel. Sincerely David call Burlington senior citizen

You can do overnight parking but there were no instructions ahead of time. You just need to get a permit from the assistant who shows up at the station about 45 minutes before the train departs. Parking is on the opposite side of the tracks.

So, I messed up and arrived about 10 min late and missed the train. The Station Master, Al, was a godsend! Rather than having to take the Greyhound to NYC, he used his contacts and got me the last seat on the Adirondack out of Port Kent, NY. He totally made my day!

Nice staff, low-rent waiting area with o.k. restroom facilities. Convenience food store nearby for last minute snacks.

I live at 5 corners, the track is in my back yard, so I hear it basically every hour, including throughout the night. 9,10, 11, even 2am, it gets ridiculous. We also have Burlington Electric trains that pass through, they're the long ones that you don't think will ever end. At night, I don't care what train it is though, it's loud and they wake me up. Tiny apt, cheap rent, nearly impossible to find anywhere in vt, but sometimes I wonder how much longer I can deal with the trains at ALL hours of the day and night. What on earth is so urgent that it must arrive by train at 2 in the morning? Any other essex townfolk wonder the same thing?

While the 'covered waiting area' might be sufficient for Miami in March, this train station finds itself not in Florida, but rather in the brazenly less tropical climate such as might be found in Maine or Vermont, which is not surprising since this station is in fact located in Vermont, a fact which must surely not have been lost on the funders, developers and builders who decided to fund, develop and build it in such an inappropriate latitude. Being that I am currently awaiting the train and have been since at least whatever time it was that my watch froze, I can probably surmise that few to no actual Amtrak users were involved in any aspect of the creation of this station, as they would have at least insisted on the installation of an actual door to this waiting area and may have even fought for the inclusion of some sort of coffee-delivery system which I know for a fact does exist as I have personally witnessed such advanced technology in the remains of the Soviet Union, a trip which I am at present recalling fondly in the hopes that the balmy zero-degree weather I experienced at that time might warm me up in these last minutes either of my life or my wait, whichever I experience first.

Quaint little train station. The conductors are super friendly and helpful. I wish there were more shops around while waiting for the train but oh well.

This is a review for the train/bus station itself, not for Amtrak or CCTA. The station in is current state needs some fixing. When it rains, the "covered" seating gets wet and for the amount of space, many more benched could be placed. There isn't a good water drainage system for the area where the buses arrive. Part of the train station itself seems abandoned. Other than that, I enjoy having a small bus centre here and I know the town of Essex is working on expanding it.
