Tonight, a friend came over with a smoked brisket from Embre and Stacy at Happy Bird. We made Ruebens. The brisket was juicy and smoky and as good as any I’ve ever had… I hope Reuben Tuesday will be a weekly event.
I’ve been stopping in for fresh chicken thighs on butcher days and using their house made rub. Just 5 ingredients but so good. I’m no Grill Master by any measure. I’ve overcooked more meals than I care to admit. Happy Bird chicken thighs grill up perfectly, every time… Happy Birds, happy belly?

Exactly the kind of store one wants to find when visiting Vermont. A family business with local products, excellent quality, and a friendly welcome. We enjoyed the ribs and rhubarb pie and regretted we weren’t staying long enough to try the rest of what’s on offer!

Everything we've tried has been great - the chicken wings, ribs, corned beef, smoked cheeses. Our favorite thing so far is the corned beef. The owners are always friendly and helpful with preparation tips.

When we're out of chicken, we get Happy Bird! Delicious smoked cheeses, ribs, sausages, and dry aged ribeye or NY strip. Wonderful store of local products of the Islands! Wonderful people as well that care about their birds, quality of their products, and their community.

Lovely little spot, owner is friendly and the selection of meats and premade fruit and savory pies (among many other items) is great! The pup is cute too.

Smoking smoked poultry, beef and berry fruit pies with lots of local foods. A must stop when you're on Isle la Motte.

We had a nice long talk with owner Emma. Happy Bird Poultry Farm, LLC started as two couples growing their own chicken, then one year they gave some of our homegrown free-range chicken as gifts sO they grew more and more! They added the smokehouse and farm market and now offer a diverse variety of local food and non-food items for sale. They aren't a restaurant or deli but do make some awesome pork ribs that are heat and go as well as some delicious pierogis. Oh yeah and cheese curds.
