We recently purchased the Hearthstone Champlain Gas Stove through GMFS. The installation was scheduled fairly quickly and their 4-person Installation team came today. They took out the 25 year old non-functioning stove we used to have. They installed our new stove including a new pipe and thimble. The team was professional and courteous. During the entire process GMFS protected our floors with cloth covers and before leaving they showed us how to operate the stove.
I would certainly recommend GMFS to anyone in the market for a new fireplace or stove.
We love this new gas stove even though it takes some time to reinstall the control panel cover once it is taken off. However, that does not take away from the great service we received today.

We had a new fireplace installed by Green Mountain Fireplace in Ludlow, VT in early February of this year at our condo on Okemo Mountain. Although we were very pleased with the fireplace product, we were disappointed that our brand new LVT flooring was damaged during the installation process. We were further disappointed in the response of GMFS to our complaint. Despite the flooring being flat and perfect prior to the fireplace installation and no one else being in the condo except for their workers, they claim that the flooring was damaged prior to their arrival. Just an absolute lie, but convenient for them to avoid taking responsibility for the damage. My recommendation: if you have them do work for you be sure to have cameras installed to keep track of their work. Take pictures of everything just prior to the work and check immediately afterwards. Otherwise they will deny that any damage done was due to their work. Sadly we did not do this as this is not a primary residence and we are now paying for that mistake.

Great experience working with the team at GMFS in Ludlow! Very knowledgeable about their products and services—the Hearthstone wood stoves are excellent quality and pictures online don’t do them justice! Very happy we went with this instead of a Vermont Castings.Installation was quick and clean!Highly recommend GMFS!

We purchased an Ortal fireplace from GMFS and it was installed in 2023 in a house that was newly constructed. This was during Covid, so things that were once easy and quick were long and drawn out. Given this, GMFS provided excellent customer service during a very challenging time. This was also right in the middle of the Vermont floods, which nearly wiped out their store in Ludlow. They worked closely with our contractor and when the time was right installed the fireplace. Ortals are beautiful fireplaces but their installation can be a bit tricky. I believe it took around 5 service calls to install and get the fireplace working consistently. This is an Ortal issue, not GMFS. But each time we had a problem, they came out promptly, replaced ignitors, etc etc. No questions asked, just confidence that the fireplace would be as beautiful and functional as we had hoped.... One more service call recently to replace a gasket that had fallen into the fireplace, and still with excellent service from GMFS. I can not recommend them highly enough. But I might think twice before buying an Ortal Fireplace again :-). So if you are in the market for a product that they carry....do not hesitate for a second to purchase it through GMFS. They have your back.

GMFS owners and team are incredible! They helped my wife and I design the perfect real and gas fireplaces for our new home in Ludlow. Every time we have family, friends, or guests over our fireplaces are the first "signature piece" they see and compliment. The designing, planning, and installation were beyond professional. And that's because they are easy to work with, reliable, creative, and get to know their customers!

Best experience ever with a Vermont-based business! I had a wood stove installed by their prompt, professional and courteous staff earlier this year. Flawless installation and they cleaned up well afterwards. Recently, one of the stove baffles broke (caused by a local chimney cleaner) and GMFS coordinated with the manufacturer to replace it under warranty. My emails were quickly responded to (over a weekend, mind you!) and they provided follow-ups to keep me posted when the replacement baffles shipped. Now, if they could just expand their service offerings to include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc. so I could get consistent and reliable customer service in those areas. ;)

To say that the work by Green Mountain Fireplace transformed our home is an understatement. Arnie is a true craftsman in a way that is all too rare now. His designs and suggestions were right from the start (we even framed the design - it was too beautiful to lose) and he and his team take incredible pride in every aspect of their work. Peggy is a dream to work with and is not only responsive, but also anticipates any and all needs and requests. We absolutely recommend them for top-quality work!

We could not be happier with the end result of Arnie's work. His design ideas and workmanship exceeded our expectations. Our new fireplace is beautiful. Also important to note, Arnie always retuned our phone calls and text messages quickly. Additionally, he and his crew were very neat and respectful of our home. I would highly recommend this company.
