I had a very important package that required a signature being shipped FedEx. The driver didn't even knock or ring the doorbell, as I watched the security footage after because I was stumped how I could have missed them. First of all, they don't give you a time window they might arrive, my package was "scheduled" to show up yesterday and never did. I get that it's a busy time of year for them, but come on... Then the customer service was hands-down the worst I've ever encountered, and I regularly deal with Comcast and Verizon. So trust me when I say that's not to be taken lightly. They refused to work with me; I offered to meet the driver, go to the local FedEx location, meet them at McDonald's or whatever was most convenient. I have a challenging road to ascend in the winter, and regularly do this with UPS, so I was dumbfounded at them flat-out rejecting me. Also, good luck talking to a manager. They refused that as well. So if I'm given an ETA of "sometime, some day", they aren't going to ring the doorbell, and I can't meet them, my options are pretty much wait outside in the snow all day and pray I'm not taking a bathroom break when/if they arrive, or... just keep repeating this same process, I'd presume. I always would hear these horror stories about the post office, but at least they never did what amounts to, in essence, holding my package hostage. I was given the option to file a complaint, but didn't out of fear that the only package I would ever receive would be a piping hot dump on my doorstep. To make a long story short, stick with UPS. They care about their customers. FedEx, clearly, does not. Cheers.
