Spacious, clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Excellent restaurant, right in the hotel building. Many attractions within short walking distance from the hotel.

Both elevators were out. One had been down for several months and according to employees, the elevators go out very often. We were on the 4th floor and made a specific request for no stairs. My sister has a bad knee and had no option but to take the stairs. Very dissatisfied.
Walkability: Excellent location.

The service was not great. This hotel has a funny parking situation: they share parking with a commercial garage a block away. Parking is free for hotel guest, but you have to validate you ticket every day at the front desk.
When we checked in, the front desk did not tell us anything about this parking arrangement, and we ended up paying $28/day at the garage kiosk. It was not until the last day of our stay that we found out parking was free. When we spoke to the front desk, they refused to do anything about the parking fee we've paid, even though the parking fee showed up on my credit card under this hotel's name.

Be aware you need to validate parking at the reception desk. Otherwise you will pay $28 for overnight parking which should have been free for hotel guests. When I checked in, the receptionist never asked whether I have a car and never mentioned the need to validate. When I drove my car to leave the parking lot, I had to pay $28 which was outrageous. The merchant appearing on my credit card for this charge is the Capitol Plaza Hotel. This was very disappointing customer service and somewhat deceiving business practice.

Horrible service! We were told there would be no elevators available the next day for check out - and we were on the 4th floor! I informed them this was against Americans with Disabilities Act - and they grudgingly held off on the elevator servicing until after check out. Not a pleasant experience and very overpriced. I would not recommend.

Good god this place is expensive for what you get. The restaurant is absolutely the worst part. Very slow and terrible service.

Ok the room was cute. Out dated but cute. Needs some upgrades new beds things like that. The staff are amazing people. Very friendly. The location is in a great stop if you want to be able to walk everywhere. There is a movie theater across the street the capitol building is right there. Bars are within walking distance. Shopping is all around. If you have read this far you are asking "why did I give one star"?. Well here is why if you are traveling with an ADA person DO NOT GO HERE! CALL FIRST, make sure their NEW elevators are in working order. Their, what I am guessing is the OG elevator was not made for today's wheelchairs!
Nearby activities: Tons to do!!

The elevator is broken with no plans in sight to fix it. Walking up to the 4th floor was not pleasant. The room was comfortable. The service was very pleasant. The location is great.

Very nice, clean, comfortable room. Great location in downtown Montpelier just a block from the capitol building. Plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. Park once and walk everywhere! The staff was fantastic - so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The elevator and restaurant were still closed when we stayed, but understandable considering the catastrophic flooding this town endured in the summer of 2023. We loved our experience here and would definitely stay again.
