This is genuinely the best pet store I’ve ever visited. The variety of unique local products is unmatched, and the owner, Cindra, has established such a welcoming and community-oriented vibe in the shop. I’m not a very outgoing person, but I felt totally comfortable asking her for help finding the right chew for my picky dog. She was kind and knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on.
The recipients of my purchase were all very happy. Here’s what they each thought:
Senga (my 9yo beagle mix): Won’t bother with chews like bully sticks because she considers them too much effort. She’s currently on restricted activity due to a health issue, so I wanted to give her some extra enrichment. Cindra recommended a bag of small beef trachea rings, and I have never seen Senga so excited to chew on something! Perfect size and texture for her to chew on them easily, but they still last a while (and the price was very affordable for a good quantity).
Pitter (my partner’s 6yo brown cat): Generally not super toy motivated, but she went crazy for the catnip gift pack I got for her! The catnip oil-infused paper bag was a huge hit.
Timmy (my friend’s ~15yo orange cat): He has NEVER eaten a cat treat. Not liquids or paste, not soft treats, not hard treats, even people food like pepperoni he’ll only ever take a tiny lick and then he’s done. I gave him a catnip gift baggie and he ate a bunch of the treats in the sample pack!!! My friend is thrilled and we will definitely be coming back to get more of these treats.

Doggonit, how fun! If you don't go for the cheerful chirping of the birds, then go for the sweet, full selection of fabulous dog treats and artisan-level catnip. Small but mighty, you'll find choices. They make it easy to shop Local!

The catnip dispensary is adorable. As you can see my cat went crazy for it and for the catnip scented paper bag as well. Really cute shop with a friendly owner and adorable store dog!

Never have I been in a friendlier, more interesting pet food store than the Quirky Pet!! The owner is funny, kind and loves ALL dogs! We've been bringing our litters of puppies in there for years and they always get comfortable quickly! They love the wide variety of foods/treats they they stock.
It's a pretty fabulous store for all your pet needs and there are some wonderful Vermont products too!
Go visit when you're in town---you WON'T be disappointed!!

Very cool store with healthy foods and unique treats for dogs. The lady was super helpful and we got what we were hoping for (a frisbee and homemade birthday treat!)

My dogs loved the treats we got at the Quirky Pet! The owner was super nice and they had lots of chew options. They will even mail you items if you order from them online, so if you're visiting from out of state, you can still get treats and chews delivered to you. Win, win! We will def be back.

The Quitky Pet is the Best! My pups love their visits to Montpelier and specifically to the Quirky! The store dogs, now Joshe the Bergamasco, are amazingly tolerant of my dogs. My dogs can be a tad oblivious as they delight in all the wonderful smells, but the Bergs just roll their eyes at them and check to see if someone is available to offer a belly scratch. My younger dog has had some awkward experiences with larger dogs, so knowing he will be well received by Joshe warms my heart. The store keeper is knowledgeable and alway helpful when it comes to selecting the perfect toy or treat.

The Quirky Pet is an amazing store! Cindra, the owner, makes you feel like a welcomed guest the minute you walk in. The store itself is a vibrant worderland of everything you can imagine for your pet. The merchandise is high-quality, made in the USA, and reasonably priced. This is a must-see place that helps give Montpelier it's unique character and charm.

Had an amazing experience here after visiting from MA! Both the owner and her husband were extremely welcoming and kind. We really enjoyed chatting and our cats are obsessed with the cat nip we got from the dispensary! The Quirkies and their mockumentary are adorable :)

Love the quirky pet! I live in MI but my sister lives there is VT and she was the one who introduced me to the shop. My dog loves everything from the Quirky Pet; especially the bullies!I was very happy to find out that I could order from the shop online. They were very quick to receive the order and even called me when they thought that I may have made an error in my order. I will be ordering regularly and every time we visit VT we will definitely be visiting to the Quirky Pet again!

Even though it's unlikely I will make it to Montpelier, I have had wonderful customer service ordering online. I have spoken to the owner, and she is quite pleasant and helpful with great tips and suggestions. The training videos online are so helpful!
