All produce was organized and fresh. Employees helped me find items I couldn't find. Cashiers and bagger were there to do there job and they did it well! Fast and smooth checkout they flew through the line it was unbelievable that it was just two employees. Better than most grocery stores in the area!

This is my second time at this location, the self checkout line both times have been towards the back of the store. How can you only have 2 of the many self checkout kiosks open. What makes matters worse is only 2 regular lines are open as well. There were many employees standing around chatting. I have a limited lunch break and it's very upsetting have to wait in 10 minute plus lines for 3 items. Not accepting Apple Pay is also a huge downside

This is a conventional Harris Teeter outlet that's conveniently located within easy walking and bus distance of everyone who lives in Old Town Alexandria and along the waterfront. Although you'll find all the sections you'd expect of a supermarket here, like, say, produce, dairy, seafood, meats, and snacks, don't expect to find the actual items and quantities you want (i.e. something as simple a gallon of house-brand spring water). Also, if you're shopping for produce, check the quality closely and pick carefully. Prices won't be the best, but if you live or are staying nearby, then it's a convenient option to have that's within a short walk.

Never enough carts or cashiers -- so long checkout lines. Common items frequently out of stock. Low-quality produce. Pharmacy web site never has accurate accounting of our prescriptions and the refill process is totally scattershot -- can take 5 days to get common meds, sometimes necessitating a trip to the store to ask in person and wait for the refill. And when you dare complain to an employee about any of this, the response is "I don't know" or "Just wait over there and don't argue." Wegman's, Giant, Aldi and other competitors not far away, so why shop here anymore?

Never enough cashiers and long lines. Understaffed. Clean at least, and mostly stocked.

This is one of the sorriest grocery stores Ive ever been too. For the last month or so this place has no hand baskets and around 10 total big shopping carts. You have to use your own bags or cart if you expect to do any real shopping here. When I asked about the basket situation they didn't have a response other than people just take them. As for the food produce is pretty bad, I see a lot of moldy produce and prices on the shelves are not always the same as when you go to the cashier. I only go here if I have a small amount of items to get or don't want to drive but its pointless to come here unless you just need 1-2 items with the basket/cart situation. Note to management: get some more baskets!

This is a good local store right downtown. You can definitely find what you need but of course the price matches the location so that stuff here is expensive. Other than that it's pretty good.

Rude. Traveling and needed medication, the manager shit the door in my face at 10:00 pm.

I'm an out-of-towner casing out the DMV area with full intent to move should the opportunity present itself. After a botched Airbnb near Ft. Totten, a friend hooked my up with a weekend skyline view at the Sheraton across the street. Wearing for layers, I went down to Harris Teeter for Sun Chips, Mentos, water and a bottle of wine. The lines were hideously long, but they moved right along. The prices seemed pretty steep, but maybe it's because I was visiting from Houston and geography had something to do with it (economic mumbo jumbo). Either which way, it was a pleasant experience. Shoutout to Rosa G. for her AMAZING speed at getting us going.

I just opened a package of yellow American cheese that I had sliced fresh at the deli counter of my local Harris Teeter in Old Town. It's a half a pound messy pile of unusable bits of cheese instead of slices.

I find the prices at this location to be really expensive. The employees at self check out are generally really helpful. Not a wide selection of organic fruits, and products are often picked over and the store is always crowded.

It is an amazing grocery store overall, due to the following reasons: 1. Good discount 2. Giant quantity per unit for meat and fruit 3. Friendly staff members 4. A lot of different variety that you could choose from. 5. No long lines in the cashiers. 6 open until quite late during the night and open very early in the morning. Overall, I highly recommend this location. As a matter of fact, some of the fresh-produce it is selling has a price tag that is lower than costco, and I think it is really a good deal, maybe the best deal you can find in the area. I bought a lot of stuffs from this location. There has been only one occasion that the quality of the food (fruit) had some issue. But the problem was nicely resolved and the manager offered an exchange for the problematic item. Overall, my experience with this location is quite positive, and I recommend everyone to take a try.

While this Harris teeter is normally stocked well with items, do NOT utilize their express pick up option. Literally every time I use it they mess something up. This time the personal shopper told me she couldn't find certain produce items like green onion, tomatoes and ginger. I parked my car and went in to grab some Truly because I forgot to order it and sure enough everything the personal shopper said she couldn't find, was RIGHT THERE! But the worst was the shopper clearly didn't even look to see if the strawberries were good bc I could look right at it and see numerous moldy strawberries. I keep saying it's just a one off situation but it's not and I will no longer use this Harris Teeter for express shopping. They need to train their "personal shoppers" a little bit better!

Great selection of items, love their produce. Found everything on my shopping list. Friendly checkout person. I'm up here temporarily, wish we had a Harris Teeter.

I've repeatedly observed store employees fail to enforce the mask requirement among customers. So I'm done spending money here.
