I was having a bit of a medical emergency & needed a place to rest and recover. The gentleman at the front desk was beyond helpful and compassionate. The room was absolutely delightful! It felt as though I had just walked into a home, rather than a plain, uninviting motel room! The bed was very, very comfortable, and the décor was very well done and quite beautiful!

Attended a nearby event at VCCA (Virg Ctr for the Creative Arts). Perfect location. Spotless grounds, pretty outdoor seating areas to relax, & one for smokers. Park outside your door, no steps. Rooms are compact but comfortable and amazingly well -appointed. Coffee, bottled water, snacks and sundries. So thoughtful and considerate for the weary. Rooms were QUIET & DARK, giving us much needed sleep. Owners could not have been more kind and gracious. Highly recommend if you just need a clean, quiet place to sleep.

I was in the area to officiate a wedding and stayed at Amherst Inn. It's lovely place. My room was clean and comfortable. The service was exceptional and the people were so friendly. I will absolutely stay again and highly recommend to others. Denise C

Wonderful stay at the Amherst Inn- we were greeted warmly, the room was very clean, and great amenities- very detailed, down to ear plugs in the provided amenities. Great selection of snacks and central location with details for surrounding restaurants and sites! Equally warm departure- overall a great stay!

We attended an event at Sweet Briar College. Room was very nice! Very clean, comfortable, well maintained. Everything in the room looked and felt new. Check in and checkout was quick and easy. There were two nice patio areas outside outside to enjoy the evening.

Super cute little Motel, with excellent and well appointed rooms. I felt like I was checking into a cozy little cabin retreat instead of just staying for one night on a business trip. My room was very comfortable, and very quiet. My only regret was that I didn’t have longer to stay so that I could relax in the recliner and read some of the books that were placed in my room. The desk functioned adequately for the work I did while I was there, and everything was SUPER clean. Will definitely return.

Lovely little hotel. It was so comfortable and cute. The rooms were spotless and clean. The shower had amazing water pressure and the staff were lovely.
The hotel provides complementary water , coffee, snacks and toiletries.
We enjoyed our stay and it’s perfect
For just a place to sleep in comfort.

Extremely clean and well appointed rooms. They provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. The complementary snacks are a very nice touch. We definitely would recommend staying here when in Amherst. Thank you for a great visit.

Loved it. The owners really take pride in their little inn. Rooms are furnished super nice. Cozy. It snowed while we were there. They took the time while we were sleeping to shovel a walking path from the door to my car. Nice touch!

Room was great. All furniture is new. Desk and chair are at proper heights to work at.
The bed was very comfortable.
The heater / air condition was very quiet as it a top end Mitsubishi unit. Good snack provide and the room was cleaned every day.

This is in perfect condition with all sorts of amenities. It is small but cozy. The shower is the among the smallest, but they had to work with what they had.
It is an immense upgrade form when I stayed there 20 years ago.
Absolutely a perfect pick for a comfortable stay for a modest time period.
Their stock photos are exactly like he room, with new linens, drapes, frig, microwave and shelving..
