Made a 1pm reservation for a truck rental through Budget's website. I arrive at 1:15 because I was packing and am greeted with a friendly: "we're closed". After explaining I have a reservation for 1, they say "Oh yeah that happens to a lot of people. We're closed and the system is shut down. We can't do anything." No remorse, no refund. And then they kicked me out into the 90 degree summer heat.

Liars! Specifically asked if we returned the truck early if we would get a refund for the extra days that we paid for. They said yes. Of course, when we called corporate they said that it only counts for Local rentals. They called arlington and they lied and said they never said that. Typical. Very rude customer service

DO NOT BOOK HERE. I wish I could give this zero stars. They allowed me to book my truck even though they didn’t have it, and it took about five minutes to finally hear the word “sorry”. They have my card information and I’m not sure if the truck was even cancelled. No communication, barely speaks, and the young man at the front desk is extremely rude. He laughed at us and seemed to take joy in the fact we were now marooned. I’m not even sure if this is a real company. Terrible, terrible place. NEVER RENT FROM HERE

I'd give 0 stars if I could. We reserved a truck, but apparently this location's definition of reserved is different. When I called to confirm my reservation that is 5 days away I was told "It's not looking good, call back when the date approaches." The date approached. This is insane that somebody with this poor of business sense is able to function in the real world.

After confirming my reservation on Wednesday, cancelled it on Friday just 3 hours before I was due to pick up the van. I got only an email that you had to dig into to find out, so I called them. Wouldn't it be good to call a customer if you're COMPLETEY CANCELLING their reservation the day of pickup? Doesn't this seem like an urgent issue on the DAY of the move?Budget in Arlington said it was due to inventory...why are you allowing people to reserve vehicles that are not available? They offered to make a reservation for the next day, but couldn't guarantee the van would be there on Saturday either. Absolutely ridiculous and abysmal customer service. I would give zero or negative stars if I could.

Where to start... Budget, now associated with Avis, cancelled my reservation the night before my 8 am move the next day. I called a dozen times and was given wrong information on every call, while talking to reservation and customer services representatives. I finally received a call from an equipment manager at 10:30 am the next morning ( moving day) only to tell me that there were no trucks available in my size within 50 miles or any size that day. After asking multiple times for a link or phone number, they directed me to the budget website to make a complaint and said, "I don't know what you want me to do, I'm just customer service." PLEASE, do not bother using this company. Noone I spoke with cared about my situation.

Would give zero stars. Rented a truck a month in advance and got told the night before that they couldn’t honor the reservation. Customer service refused to give us a refund. Told us to call a 1-800 number to get help. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!

This woman Natasha fraudulently charged my account for $1801 and two $150 charges; she's nasty, irresponsible and a criminal. She goes around just lying about charges stealing peoples money because her and her business is broke. This location is desperate for cash and will do anything.. it's just a matter of time they will close and get arrested for embezzlement.

Let me start out with saying that nothing was wrong with the truck and I was not charged any hidden fees. That being said get insurance as you really don’t want to pay extra if you get that truck damaged.Okay with that out of the way… this is probably the slowest car rental service out there. And not to the fault of the employees they were trying very hard to get us in and out of there. I am shocked that they have the worlds slowest and oldest computers. This is a corporation afterall! You’re telling me that they can’t afford updated computers?!! I feel bad for the employees. All of us customers expect 21st century service and we are met with Flintstone technology. Do better.

Again another disappointed experience with this location. I reserved a car last night, I received the confirmation and once I got there they didn't have one available. His answer was to go to the airport... really?

They did not have the truck I had reserved and then sent me 40 mins out of the way only to receive a truck that had been in an accident and had a warning light on. I have used Penske and U-Haul with good experiences. I will NEVER use budget again. The people who tried to help me were nice but not much you can do with junk product.

I had a pre-paid, confirmed reservation. When I showed up at my pick-up time, Budget declined to honor its contract, claiming they had no available cars. Then they declined to get a car from another location and declined to cover the cost of a cab to another Budget location. So I called Budget's 800 number and was placed on hold for 25 minutes. According to Budget Corporate, it is my obligation to apply for a refund of my prepayment and I can also apply for reimbursement of cab fare to another rental location. So I ubered to DCA. The Budget/Avis employees at DCA indicated the Arlington location (1) ALWAYS has fewer cars on hand than needed so they won't get stuck with extra cars if a customer cancels a reservation and (2) prioritizes pricier reservations over less expensive ones (regardless of prepayment) when they are low on cars. This sounds like an unfair and deceptive trade practice, not to mention insanely poor customer service. Buh-bye, Budget.

Terrible experience. Had a box truck reserved for a move, was going to be a little late picking up the truck so I called to let them know I was still coming. The person who answered the phone told me this was fine, the truck would be here whenever. When I arrived I was told they decided to rent my larger truck out and it wouldn't be back until tomorrow morning, best they could do is a cargo van. I had no choice but to accept since the move had to be done that weekend. The van I was given had trash all over it (half drank water bottles, food wrappers, etc.) which blew my mind considering the staff went into the truck to check the fuel and mileage levels, they just decided to ignore it. The van was heavily damaged and the rear cargo door didn't even fully latch. More importantly, the van was significantly smaller so many items had to be left behind. Last time I will ever rent through budget, I will pay $1K more to rent somewhere else.

Very simply - Do not rent with this company.When reserving our budget truck we did so knowing a specific price we were very comfortable with for our move. We understand it could be an estimate and it could change slightly before signing our final agreement for the truck. However, when we arrived at the location we found the price we originally were comfortable with was now double the amount. We tried to discuss options with management for how we can make this right; however, they did not care to try and help us whatsoever, and would not provide keys until we agreed. Given we were in a time crunch for our move, we felt we had no other options and extremely mislead as consumers.We tried to additionally contact budget customer service regarding this specific issue to try and make things right as none of this was communicated to us during our reservation process, but we were told by the customer service rep (who was also unhelpful) essentially the location can handle it as they choose.We understand this location is a business simply trying to make money, but treating customers like how we were treated is not how to do it. Needless to say, we will not be using Budgets services again, and I would not recommend working with this location whatsoever. Do not trust the price they show on their reservation, do not expect the truck to be there ready for you, and go with your gut and choose Uhaul instead.
