I have been coming here for a few weeks now, and this gym has everything that I need! First thing is that it's enormous. You can't tell from the outside, but the gym is quite large and it has pretty much every type of exercise equipment that you could imagine. They even have a huge swimming pool for members to use. I mainly stick to just a few machines, as well as. The treadmill for running. Some o the other machines that I use are for chest, upper arms like biceps, and abs of course. I especially like the fact that they open super early at 5:00am which is great because I like to get my workout done first thing in the day. The only thing that they don't have is a boxing ring! I plan on continuing my membership for as long as I remain In the area.

A lot of cardio machines have been down and stay down, stairs masters, treadmills. Etc. I don’t believe their is any intention of repairing them.Although their power training equipment are mostly all in tact and operating well. The Service is friendly and the workers are helpful with any assistance needed. The sauna could be cleaned a more frequently at least on a daily basis mid day or so. I don’t think it gets cleaned based on the constant odor smell every visit I’ve made. This gym has the potential to be a great LA fitness like other locations If the upkeep could be executed properly and in a timely manner.

I went to visit the Clark Street location today as I've done many times before. I was stopped at check in and advised that I would have to pay a $10 fee as I did not have multi state access. I explained that this happened once before and I thought that this had been corrected. There was two people at the desk the person with the bald head which I assume might be a supervisor joins the conversation. I asked him for his name as he did not have a name tag. He said why do you need my name. I advised that I would need it so that when I speak with the Corporate office I can reference whom I spoke with. I mentioned to him that any professional would not mind giving their name. He refused to give me his name but offered the number for Corporate as if he didn't care if I called. He told me, go for it and tell them I didn't give you my name. I told him that he was not professional and that this type of black on black crime has to stop. He continued to challenge me so I told him he was ignorant, he continued to be unprofessional so I made sure he heard me call him ignorant all the way to the elevator. I am not sure what is happening in Virginia specifically Crystal City as this is the 2nd situation where another black male has been downright ignorant on the job. I carry myself as a respectful black male and I expect to get an acceptable level of service. I feel that these person's feel as if they can give men of the same race whatever level of service they want. Well I will not support a company that allows their staff to be downright ignorant. I will be cancelling my membership tomorrow. I've been with Bailey's then LA Fitness for over 25 yearsI'm done. Really you don't give out your name. The sad part is that he is most likely the manager. My visit was at around 6:15pm on 10/11/23 management check the cameras. I called back after leaving and expressed to the no name person that he needs to grow up and be a professional and stop giving bad service as well as black on black crime. He asked me if that was a threat. How ignorant! This poor customer service is wrong no matter what the race.

Almost ALL cardio machines are broken upstairs. Trainers have attitude when you're already using the equipment they are trying to use. Weights and dumbbells are scattered around the gym. Weight lifting machines and benches don't work properly and can easily injure someone, yet they are still avaliable to use. Majority of the time no one puts away their weights. Over a year and the only improvement is the very tiny wipes that replaced the spray bottles and paper towels.

I come in every morning at 5am. A nice young man is always there on time, he greets me and is very kind, I believe his name is jay. He was helpful on my billing account questions. He assured that I was getting billed correctly. He was also willing to show me a few work out machines to reach my goals. This is my favorite gym. I wish they can fix more of their equipment. The customer service is wonderful, but the gym itself need a lot of work.

Is it run down? yes.are most of the cardio machines broken? of course.are the locker rooms out of date? absolutely.are the employees friendly? nope.but i still like this place. affordable, simple, spaced out equipment, never crowded in the morning and has a pool where you can almost always find a lane.

I’ve been coming here for a lot time and when I’m back in town this his the gym, however the new guy, the Jamaican one, is who I need to have conversation with the location manager about. He was rude, couldn’t understand, assumed and did what he was not even told.He acted like we were in the streets having a fight, or he had some grudge. This level of service is not what’s needed at gateway; access to airport, the district and the capital.

The Potomac Yard location has water bugs and broken machines. In addition, there are a lot of “Karen(s)”who harass you when you are trying to just exist.

The cleaning staff is amazing yet the equipment is often broken; several treadmills & Stairmaster haven't worked in a year or more. Other team members, socialize more than assisting with the upkeep of the gym & safety of the members.Sadly, this is a trend amongst LAF nationwide.

This gym has only one pair of 20-pound dumbbells, and it's constantly in use. I've put in several requests for another set. It's been two months and counting.

Nearly all of the cardio machines have been broken for months hell maybe even a year. Some of the machines are broken and have yet to be fixed. Plus employees are quick to get you to sign a contract but you have to go through hell to cancel. Plus they’ll make errors by double charging sometimes.

Worst LA Fitness I have ever been to. Over 60% of cardio machines in the upper level are “scheduled for maintenance” they’ve been like this for the past year. This location needs new management. No one re-racks their weights and it’s just a mess at this gym. I would not recommend anyone signing up at this location, the one down the street next to Giant doesn’t have as many amenities but I would 100% recommend it over this location. At least their equipment works and people have enough respect to put weights back.

I wanted to look at the club to decide whether to join. But in order to work out there, I have to join. The “Free Guest Pass” is a scam to force you to join. When I pressed, I heard that I’d have to provide my credit card, join, and then come back to the club to cancel when the right person happened to be there. Welcome to the Hotel California. You can check in any time you like, but you can never leave. Beware.

I’ll remove this when they fix it but over half of their cardio equipment has been broken for months and they always say it’s getting fixed soon but again, it’s been months. If you want to do cardio, just go to another location because you’re not going to get a treadmill on a week night.Edit: I can back, originally left this 2 months ago, everything is still broken and there are only 6 functional treadmills and it’s a 20 minute limit
