Great experience with Irongate Antiques. A small job - recane chair. Very reasonable quote, faster than expected turnaround, and professional results. Very nice people. Highly recommend.

Did an outstanding job restoring and recovering my parents' 1960s chaise lounge! Rebuit, restuffed, and with reinforced stitching (and yeah we went with a retro fabric). Great work!

Bob recently refinished a late 19th-century oak dresser as well as the matching harp and mirror. He also re-caned two small walnut side chairs. I am so pleased with the results! Throughout the process, I was impressed with Bob's knowledge, attention to detail, thoughtfulness, responsiveness, and craftsmanship. He even sent me information on the Indiana factory where the furniture was made--a very nice touch. I would not hesitate for a second to return to Bob with more antiques that need his loving touch.

Iron Gate Antiques is amazing! Bob and Cecil can fix anything and restore furniture to its rightful beauty. Over the past 10-15 years, they have restored and refinished countless pieces for our family from my grandmother's high chair which was made in 1905 to my great,-great grandmother's Pennsylvania Dutch rolling pin which they also copied exactly so that I could use the replica while preserving the original. We are so happy with their work and so grateful to be able to bring family and other favorite pieces back to life!

5 stars. Outstanding recaning & repair/reinforcement of my wife’s 18th c French chairs. Plus just a wonderful soul to chat with. Let there be more Bob McCanns in this world!

Quality antique refinishing work. Not outrageously expensive.

Bob did a fantastic job repurposing an antique oak upright piano into two pieces - a wall hanging liquor cabinet and a desk. He also made a desk out of an antique parlor organ. I highly recommend his work.

Bob and Cecil are amazing....in restoration and Upolstery, there is nothing Bob can't do and everything is done with meticulous detail....I have been a loyal client since I moved to this area almost 8 years ago...most recently, he did a large reupholstering job for me....and one piece was more beautiful than the next...the work was done to perfection and the most exacting client would be awed by the attention to detail...I highly recommend their work Bette from Bluemont

Some family heirlooms are priceless. That is true for the Lane Cedar Chest restored so beautifully at Iron Gate Antiques. My wife Fran's mother received it as a hope chest when she was married in the late 1940s. That hope chest was in Fran's home for every one of her growing up days. Her mother and father are no longer with us, but the hope chest is. In the intervening years, it was painted white. Twice. Movers accidently broke off one of the pulls. It was looking quite bedraggled. Bob McCann and his son restored it to its original beauty. We are so grateful to them for restoring this family treasure.

Has beautiful antiques. Recanes old chairs/rockers, the only person in Loudon Co that does it. And he does a beautiful job.

Customer service is outstanding! Wow, I was so impressed with Bob and Cecil. Those two are so personable and knowledgeable. I instantly trusted them with our family antique. I dropped off a freestanding piece of rust and had returned a piece of art. For a nominal fee our restored coffee grinder was deliver to our door at the height of rush hour and Christmas shopping season. At first I couldn't speak. The working coffee grinder was colorful and true to the pictures from an on-line research picture. The logo was painted. The most impressive part was the attention to detail. Even the screws were painted. The screws looked like decoration instead of merely being functional. Bob communicated with me often, providing with comfort that this project would be finished by Christmas as promised. So fantastic, so amazing and at a reasonable price.
