We waited until our daughter turned one to send her to daycare, and I was very nervous about it at first. Katie set up time with me to talk through concerns and really helped to put my mind at ease. Our daughter has now been at Goddard for about 4 months and we have had an amazing experience! We absolutely love the Goddard School!

The Goddard School of Chesapeake is absolutely incredible and worth every penny! Our kids had only known ONE daycare in Maryland, and when we got orders to move to Virginia, I was distraught on where we would put our kids. However, within minutes of researching and taking a virtual tour, I instantly KNEW this was the place I wanted my kids! There’s a reason the waitlist is so long! The teachers/staff are exceptional and so is their curriculum! I have two very different children personality wise who need specialized attention and Goddard has been absolutely wonderful with both! Not to mention, I’m a very involved (aka helicopter) mom and the school has always been so supportive and kind to me/us! I can’t recommend Goddard enough!
PS: EVEN MY KIDS LOVE IT HERE!!

Great establishment - our daughter is thriving here and loves to go to school. Teachers are attentive and engaged, building is secure and clean, communication from admin is superior.

I've been in childcare for over a decade & have worked at 5 different centers and this was by far the worst.
The owner is pretty awful. She treats her staff like they aren't even human. Teachers wait over an hour to use the bathroom sometimes, constantly asked to stay late without warning, etc.
Teachers are belittled and mocked for asking for help with the kids, which is truly appalling in such a difficult, high-stress field.
I witnessed a teacher having a medical emergency and the way she was treated by the owner and one of the directors was disgusting. Like she was inconveniencing them on purpose or something.
I'm a seasoned teacher and I only made it 2 months there before I walked out. Only job I've ever left without a two weeks notice, it was that bad. Broke my heart to leave the kids and parents like that but my mental health couldn't take it.
Oh yeah and the owner talks down on the parents during the staff meetings after they pay an INSANE amount of money to send their kid there. Like she won't even let a kid borrow a water bottle or an extra pair of pants, she calls the parents AT WORK and makes them bring what they need or tells them to pick their kid up, then she talks smack on them to her whole staff.
I would NEVER send my kid here.

Called to inquire daycare for my 12 month old. The lady who answered the phone told
me it would be a long wait list and I asked how long and she said “oh there’s about 5-7 kids ahead of you. She was not very welcoming or friendly, she didn’t ask me if I had any questions, or would you like to take a tour of the school, she wanted to rush me off the phone and be done with the phone call. My employer who is a doctor sends her daughter here so that’s why I called because this school is supposed to be a good school and want the best for my child. But I will not be calling back again. I will spend my money somewhere else.

My husband and I love the Goddard School in Chesapeake. Both of our kids love going there. There have a great relationship with the teachers, their friends, and the front office staff. You will not regret choosing to put your child here.

Our kids have experienced a few daycares in their time due to moving around over the last few years and Goddard Chesapeake is our second Goddard School. I can honestly say I have never been more impressed with a daycare than I have been with Goddard Chesapeake. From the moment you walk in it is apparent that it is different - in the best way possible. The best way I can describe it to someone who has not had the pleasure of experiencing it is it's "all hands on deck". There is no job too small or beneath anyone, if it needs to be done it will be done. Every person in that building knows our daughter because they have assisted her with something or given her a smile and/or hug at some point in time when she needed it most. What continues to astound me is how smoothly things are communicated to those who need to know. For instance, our daughter needs extra attention at times due to having a difficult time transitioning from the elementary school she attends each morning as part of her IEP. The teachers, director, and owner all share information in regards to what our daughter is positively responding to as well as what isn't working. We could not appreciate this more as we have full confidence that 100% effort is always being made to make our babe feel comfortable and safe. It is also incredibly apparent how much the staff cares for each other as well as their kiddos. You can see it on their faces, through the patience and kindness constantly on display, the pride they have when speaking about the kids, and the support they give each kid during times of need. I personally refer to the teachers, director, and owner as angels as that is exactly how I think of them. What I do not look forward to is the day when our little girl ages out and has to leave as it will be a day full of tears for all involved!

We absolutely adore the Goddard School and staff! We moved from the DMV area roughly a year ago and we were VERY concerned about finding the right preschool program for our children. We had a wonderful center back Maryland and we were convinced nothing would come close to what we had. Thank goodness for Katie, the teachers, and staff here at Goddard! The amount of care and learning opportunities they provide my children is exceptional! As a pediatric speech pathologist and self-proclaimed "helicopter mom", they have exceeded all expectations. I could never thank them enough for their patience with my children, the communication with parents, and their understanding of all the unique circumstances many families in this area have (i.e., active duty military, healthcare workers, etc.). If you are considering Goddard, put it at the very top of your list!

Called to get info on my daughter enrollment and get answers to her process as this is my first time. I asked the receptionist what is the process, she simply said “how old is your daughter” I answered 2 and she answered there is a “waiting list.” I asked to have our names down on the list and she said “it’s $50”. She didn’t mention nothing else about what is the process, how long is it, or anything welcoming.

The Goddard School provides a safe and engaging environment for my child. He feels safe with his teachers and talks about his friends in his class. He is very well socialized both with ch ok ldren and adults. I have great communication with his teachers who let us know how he is doing day to day. The school as a whole knows who my child is and are friendly, frequently telling us a story about something he has done throughout the day. Can't wait for my second child to attend.

Katie and her team are fantastic. They have been so supportive of my journey as a first time mum with my little guy. They are patient and very thorough with their work. They are courteous and professional.I love the curriculum it allows me to keep on track of my son's milestones and they gear their education towards that very well. But the best thing they've done for me is give me a lot of encouragement with my husband being on deployment and very understanding. I was not expecting that. They really do go above and beyond. Thank you team.

My son was in a daycare setting that promised a curriculum, but he just wasn’t learning. Knowing that he is going into kinder next year, we decided to make the switch to Goddard and it has been AMAZING. He has already learned so much, and I’m confident that he will be prepared for kinder when he starts next year. We only wish that we had made the switch sooner! The whole staff has been incredible.

The Goddard School of Chesapeake has been the most amazing learning environment for both my children. Our oldest graduated from there in 2021 and entered kindergarten above grade level. Our youngest attends currently and is showing strong verbal and reasoning skills. The staff is loving and knows everyone by their first name.

I have a 4 yr old and 10 month old and would not want to take my kids anywhere else. The teachers and staff are so helpful and insightful. They make me feel at peace knowing my kids are safe and having fun while I’m at work.
