I can’t say enough positive things about Piedmont. They are the most trustworthy and honest people I’ve worked with in a long time. If there was one negative it’s that they are so very busy. It takes patience to get in, but that is because they are so awesome.

We got a flat tire just before closing and these guys were able to fit us in right before closing time. We got the flat tire repaired and replaced for our trip. Ryan helped us get everything set up and was phenomenal to work with—his customer service was excellent! Highly recommend!

I took my car in with what turned out to be a bad front axle. Even though dealing with a frozen and a broken bolt (two different ones) added a lot of time, they did a great job. Being honest, they weren’t great about calling with updates but it’s possible I just called them before they had a chance so I’m leaving that out of my rating.

Great local shop with better prices than even Costco Tire. Highly recommend. Quick service and even were able to fix some damaged rims quickly and get our car back. Will be coming back

I have brought my car here several times after having issues with other mechanics. I have been blown away by the fact that Piedmont Tire & Auto is ALWAYS 100% honest! I recently had an safety inspection at a Shell gas station, hoping I could just get it done quick, get the new sticker and be on my way. Unfortunately, Shell found all kinds of ridiculous things wrong with my vehicle which I found very hard to believe, given that I had just had it thoroughly inspected by Piedmont 6 months ago and they had fixed what was wrong (after going to another place that was about to charge me 4x as much!). Anyway, Piedmont only found 1 thing wrong, a headlight bulb that needed replacing. They told me none of the other work actually needed to be done (and was shocked that most of it was even suggested)! THANK YOU again for saving the day and being kind to my pocketbook, but mostly for being a business that has great values and restores my faith in people!

Great, trustworthy, fast service. I came here after Toyota told me I needed $2k in repairs. They inspected my vehicle and found nothing wrong! I felt so much better and will be a returning customer from now on!
Also, shoutout to the young lady at the front desk on July 5. She was super busy with calls and customers and handled it with the upmost professionalism!

Once again everyone at Piedmont Tire and Auto Gainesville are providing awesome work. I took my Hyundai Elantra to another business while out of town to get a safety inspection that was almost expired. They told me that it failed. Didn't have a good feeling about it and took it to Piedmont. There was nothing wrong with my car and it passed. You can definitely trust the work being done at Piedmont!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! The owner John Filippino is a bully!! He likes to trick women into paying more than they’re supposed to or promised! His company messed up and damaged a jeep and John didn’t want to refund the lady after they messed up her jeep! A bully, a scam artist, and damage cars they’re supposed to fix!! Lousy and poor service!!

Is a very busy shop but they always take good care of their customers, and that leads to them being busy. Kevin at this location and John at the Haymarket location are both amazing.

In our community, there are no shortage of raving fans about Piedmont Tire & Auto. My family moved to the area about five years ago and have only used them to service our cars since then. Are they busy and sometimes hard to get an appointment? Yes. Is this a symptom of providing great service and great value? Yes. I have never needed it, but I’ve seen the owner get people in off hours or without an appointment for emergencies. This is the kind of caring service very few other shops this size provide. Once I got a flat tire on a vacation and the “out of town” shop plugged it. I emailed the owner of Piedmont if that was good solution for the rest of my vacation. He said that it would probably be fine short term but to bring it to him when we returned to town and he’d patch it for free. These were original tires that I didn’t even buy from him. It didn’t matter though, John just wanted to make sure that his customer was taken care of. There are so many other business reasons that these guys rock! You could write a book about the impact this company makes on the community. They are pillar of support for families and charities who need it.

It’s a shop that uses big business tactics and justifies overpricing by camouflaging as a “Mom and Pop.” Very sad. They will throw around communal terms of endearment to pull the wool over people’s eyes but they are only worried about short term business, not long term customer well being.
They will give bloated estimates for small problems and if you don’t get the fix they’ll charge $125 for the check.
They tried to charge my wife $600 for a blinker lever and when we decided not to have it done they charged $125 for the diagnostic.
The front man told us that he has to pay his mechanics, therefore must charge the $125 for the diagnostic, even though nothing was done. He also said he couldn’t charge too little or he’d have trailer trash coming in…..how friendly….. We knew the lever wasnt holding down, no diagnostic was needed. Then of course the $600 for the fix…..so you either walk out paying $600 for a spring, or $125 for nothing…..he said he’d give us a discount bc we had our 2-year-old daughter with us. Only charged $112 for nothing instead of $125….more belittling.
My wife and I have served this community for over twenty years combined. Through work as teachers, media members, and supporting our brave men and women in the military. It’s disgusting and patronizing to have people like this tell you how much they understand and respect what you do while having their hands in your pockets.
Save the money and go to a large chain. At least you can save a few bucks there.
Edited to add a photo of a message I received from the owner.
