I was so excited about getting my hair done this Thursday but when I got there, there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for possible sickness. I understand being sick and needing to close but I was a little upset I never got an email or txt or anything saying my appointment would have to be canceled or rescheduled:/ just disappointed to say the least

10 out of 10. This location is a hidden gem. Chip and Eric’s work is impecable. This location will definitely satisfy your hair needs. It’s a great environment and very hospitable. Small location but worth a visit. I’m military and I recommend Eric’s weekly fades. That man knows how to work the clippers and skin fades. Eyebrow waxing too.

it was my first time in a salon and Eric took me in and treated me like a King, gave me a great cut and style and then gave me a shampoo. OMG best hands ever giving a shampoo. i think i fell asleep on him while he was massaging my head. he also trimmed up my eyebrows and made me look and feel like a million bucks. all my coworkers took notice it. He definitely earned a live long client.

Best hairdresser around! I get many compliments on my hair and I owe it to Chip. He knows his color too! He's always accommodating even when I'm late. And a great listener! The previous review is for another salon as there is no Tim at this salon and he didn't have a receptionist at the time the previous poster mentioned.

Chip is amazing! Not only did he recommend a haircut that fits my face structure, be also wanted it to match my personality. Don't get me wrong, I was kind of scared when it came to changing the style I usually go with, but it was well worth it. I'm positive I found my new hair stylist!

Can you tell from this photo that I made an appointment at the end of July for a hair appointment on Sept 25,2020??? I even confirmed the appointment two days before the scheduled appointment. I moved to Virginia during the pandemic. When salons started to open up, I called the closest salon to where I lived. My first hair appointment was on May 23rd at 9:00 am. When I made the appointment with the owner, he advised me to bring either cash or my checkbook. When I showed up a little before 9:00 am for my hair appointment, he said that I was late, that my appointment was for 8:45 am. Um, ok. I made my next appointment for the end of June. I called mid June to reschedule for Aug. 8th. With moving to a new state and recent car repairs in the $thousands, unfortunately I had to push out my hair appointment. I called on July 31, to cancel my appointment that was scheduled for Aug 8 and rescheduled for Sept 25. When I called on July 31, there was no appointment scheduled for me on Aug 8th. That's strange, as I remember speaking to the owner about the reschedule and I had canceled it online too. Today, Sept 25, I was so excited to go to my hair appointment, since it had been since May 23rd that I had my hair done. I received a call from the receptionist from D.Alan's Color Splash at 8:00 am. She said that Tim doesn't know who I am and is not accepting new clients. Much to my surprise, even with my "confirmed text message" from this company and had an appointment with him in May. My appointment wasn't valid for today. ??? D.Alan's Color Splash needs to get their reservation system working properly. Secondly, if the owner, Tim, wasn't taking on new clients, this should have been disclosed to me before my appointment on May 23, during my appointment on May 23, during the phone call we had in June when I had to cancel that appointment, during the phone conversation when I rescheduled in August, and during the phone conversation when I rebooked on July 31st for Sept 25th. There were ample opportunities to tell me over the phone that D.Alan's Color Splash we're not accepting new clients. I would have looked for other hair salons in Newport News that WERE accepting NEW clients within those 4 months. Terrible customer service. Terrible reservation system. I would not recommend this salon especially if you had your hopes up for actually executing an appointment. They have lost my business!

Best cut and color I've ever had, I refuse to go anywhere else from now on. Everyone is so friendly and the results were absolutely stunning! Christian mixed my color custom so it would stay in the color range I want as it fades and I won't have to get it touched up so often and he cut my hair with my wave pattern in mind so it literally styles itself now when I brush it. I've never had a stylist who was that thoughtful about my hair, especially not on my first visit! My only regret is not being able to tip more.

I don’t remember the last time I felt so pretty. I could barely believe my eyes when I saw my hair. I put total trust in Chip, Christian, and Derek and couldn’t be happier that I did. Fabulous shampoo, incredible cut, amazing blowout, and sensational makeup. Thank you, gentlemen, for making me feel so incredibly special. I barely have words and I can’t wait to show off my new look!

I can't recommend this place enough. I was in the chair with Christian for five hours today for a cut and full color and the results are AMAZING!! He made super great conversation and the time absolutely flew by, he's very meticulous and thorough and it really shows in the final product. He made me feel like I've been a client of his for years! I've never been to a high-end salon like this before and he's got me so spoiled rotten after just one session that I can never go anywhere else ever again. It was worth every second and every penny, I'm so so so glad I stumbled onto this shop!
