This is the fifth or sixth time I have eaten here. First time I have ordered takeout and I was not that impressed. We had Chicken Vindaloo and there was only about 7-10 small pieces of chicken in the sauce and those were over cooked. We also ordered the Kabab sampler and about 8 small pieces of different meat. It all tasted good but for the price it was ridiculous small portions. The best thing we had was the Nan bread.

Guess the chef in charge on 7/4/2021 did not know what "Briyani" means. For an Indian restaurant, the vegetable briyani served in 7/4 was pathetic

Wow they really knocked it out of the park today I don't often leave hood Yelp reviews..... but I couldn't help myself I'm so happy with this place. The customer service was amazing I wanted to break out the box a bit and she suggested two things on the menu that were amazing. The food is to die for and very filling. Thank you so much!!!

First time at this Indian restaurant. The restaurant is located right next door to Food Lion at Pilot House & Jefferson Ave in Newport News. I placed a takeout order. I order the Biryani with Goat. A side of naan bread ( not included in price). You can choose from the lunch or dinner menu. This meal is the dinner option. The restaurant is spacious with beautiful decor. They are open 11:30am to 2:30 lunch hours, then reopened for dinner at 4:30pm. My food was sitting on the bar in the back. I had to ask for a menu. She quickly said to look up the menu online. My intention is to take pictures of the menu to post on here. She hesitantly gave me a restaurant menu. That's was a weird exchange. Food is good. The Biryani is much better at the Williamsburg location (Amirjai)

Briany Rice wasn’t nice quality. They serve thick kind of rice and very bad quality chicken also . Sounds like very old chicken meat. They should serve customers best quality food. Charge same like other stores but bad quality.

Food and drinks are great, I always bring my family here when they come to visit. The samosas and butter chicken are always my go to with the garlic naan.

The food was delicious nice clean place and the staff was very helpful. The only thing was the antibacterial soap canister was broken and that is not good. Especially with all the Covid's

Everything was pretty good, the curry wasn't as flavorful but the orange chicken was good. The only thing I don't agree with is we sat at one table about both us ordered naan bread and they brought them together. I would rather my rice and bread come seperate.

Fantastic food. Great service. We were waited on by what I presume to be an owner based on her enthusiasm for the job and her deep knowledge of the menu. I'm the type that if I get the sense that the server knows the place I will often let them guide me. I figure they know the menu better than I and if someone loves something it's going to probably be pretty good. I asked her what her favorite thing was and she came alive asking a couple questions and expertly guiding me to Mathiwala Mailai Chicken, which was $16. I chose the level 3/5 hotness and it was perfect having a bit of spice but not enough that it was tough to eat, the sauce was this incredible blend of creamy / spicy / savory. She also suggested we get Ghobi Manchurian as an appetizer which was $8.00. It was this lightly fried cauliflower in a red pepper sauce. I had no idea you could make cauliflower taste this good and NEVER would have considered it as an appetizer. My wife had the $18 Aam Aadrak Ka Jhinga chosen for her. It was these huge shrimp in a mango pepper sauce perfectly grilled. Both entrees were served with jasmine rice that was as good as any rice I've had. And Garlic Naan for $4... delicious (very garlicky though so go plain if you garlic is not your jam), bread that helps get all of the amazing sauces. I don't think we would have found the menu items we did without our servers guidance, and if that doesn't bother you I'd suggest asking... if it's who we had, she'll have strong and incredible guidance. It is all served family style and an appetizer and a single entree is likely enough for most people. You'll have left overs if you get 2 entrees. You won't be said about that though and my Mathiwala Mailia Chicken may have even been better the next day.
