I was unhappy with this hotel didn’t have Marriott standards dirty room stain carpet. Bed was hard. The place needs renovated badly they do put on a good front. I would not return. And just to be fair the parking was great. They also have good manners. They are very polite. However I do not recommend

The manager at front desk was very caring and understanding we need more people like him . I believe his name is Mr.Hall.I expected better with the name Marriott attached to it. A run down motel is what it's like when step into the room . Appearance outside is more kept than the actual rooms. The sockets none of them work the bed doesn't have protection covers on them the sheets are dingy. The Ice machine on both floors I went does not work . The microwave which is located in an outside hallway area does not work. This is not a Marriott just a front. I've been to some Marriott locations and those are A1 on the inside not just outside.

I really enjoyed the location. The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable. There was a small refrigerator, but the phone service was non-existent when I wanted to call for the check out time. - I had looked for a hotel book and on the door before calling.

Hotel was clean and the staff was pleasant. The location is fabulous with several restaurants within walking distance. No microwaves in the room made it very hard to enjoy leftovers or heat a baby bottle. The furniture was banged up and very old. No walk in shower. We asked for housekeeping to come several times but that never happened. We had to remind them to bring us towels and toilet paper. So disappointed.

Marriott Bonvoy "Elite". What's in a name? One would believe the word "Elite" would give you some sense that your staying at an upscale accommodations. Unfortunately, even the Manager agrees the place is "rough around the edges" and is overdue for a renovation. It's unfortunate their maintenance crew and/or housekeeping staff over looked some of the the details like a missing towel hooks in the bathroom. Sure, you can hang your towel over a chair, or maybe a door knob. Then again why worry about any of these details while your staying at a "Elite" Hotel ? After that, you just can't help not noticing how "rough around the edges" your room really is.

Nice clean hotel but my bathroom ceiling looked like there was a bad leak recently. The bartender is so awesome and we enjoyed her conversations. The food at the restaurant was really good. Bar and restaurant are open but closes at 10pm on weekends. Due to Covid-19, they do not have a hot breakfast. They have a breakfast box with fruit, milk and cereal for $10 a box. I don't recommend the box lolYou must wear a mask to be in the lobby and common hang areas. The decor is very nice and plenty of room to hang out and socialize.

First thing first customer service was horrible. Sadly, but one person can ruin it for the whole company. Customer service have to be 100.They put us in the wrong room the first night.They changed us to another room and the room had a leak in it.I told the young lady about the problem in the room and she assured me that the issue would be resolved.Came back to the room, and nothing was done. The issue was still there.The Saturday night staff customer service was not to great.I must say I am very disappointed in a supposedly 4 star hotel.This Marriott will never get my business.First impression is everything, and we were not impressed at all.Just imagined coming in a room that was not serviced by house keeping with 5 grumpy kids at 11:30pm.I forgot to mention they never mentioned to us that it wouldn’t be room service due to Covid. Totally understand that, however the house keeper Asked if we wanted service. I told her yes.Well, we come to a room and nothing has been done.I rate it 2 star.

Stayed here during COVID so things are expectedly different than a normal stay. However I have to say, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, they have a nice private parking garage in city center. The location is nice lots of restaurants and a nice view around. The hotel itself is nice the room was clean. What more to ask?

Nice location and the room was really nice. The only issue I had was one of towels had been used (but there were others) and the tub had hair in it and hand prints on the grab bar at the shower area. No problem.......i brought cleaning supplies and spruced the place up. I would definitely stay here again but I'd remember t bring my gear......(cleaning supplies) just in case. I didnt report this to management because it was not that bad and I was prepared ?just in case.

I was disappointed at of service we received. Almost as if everyone one mad to be here. Very slow and non informative. We came back to our room and housekeeping haven’t been here. I called the front desk, no answer, went down to the front desk and someone was there so I asked if the phone rang and the response was yes but I was doing something else. Ok, so next I asked about housekeeping, the response I should have requested it because we don’t have housekeeping like before due to COVID. That’s fine but how was I to know this. Nothing posted nor was I told at check in. So I requested for the following morning and asked for more towels, which irritated him. Housekeeping did come the next day but left us no soap, shampoo, or lotion. Maybe I was supposed to request it, I don’t know. Either way I’ve been a Marriott member for years and this was not even equal to a motel 6 experience. Very dissatisfied!!! I’ll be coming here a lot but I’ll probably look for a better property. We also use this as our preferred from our company I found out so being I’m in charge of that now , im sure that business will move as well.Extremely dissatisfied!

I was in town for a wedding and stayed at this lovely hotel. The room is nicely appointed, very clean and very comfortable. Check in was simple and very quick. I gave them my name and had my keys in about 2 minutes time. The staff was outstanding. Very professional and very kind. During this time of the cove it outbreak, the hotel was especially well equipped with hand sanitizing stations and exceptionally clean and sanitized room and had plenty of masks in case you forgot yours. Lastly, I was able to enjoy a late night drink down in the lobby area at a well stocked bar with my friends. I look forward to returning here again.

I stay often at the Newport News Marriott at City Center. The location is nice and the customer service provided by Chelsea makes it all the better. If you need a recommendation for a good place to eat or venue to visit in the area ask Chelsea. She is always excited to assist. I highly recommend this Marriott property. As always, thank you Chelsea for the hospitality.

Clean, good for the business travelers. No extras, such as food or snacks. They take themselves very seriously. Staff will answer questions polite. They charge for 'amenities' daily even though there are none. I was told the daily amenities charge is for damage to the room.

Great location. Clean room. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Delicious food and strong drinks!
