“Very beautiful building in downtown Norfolk. Very old too - built in 1907 per website. Definitely historic! A bunch of businesses are housed inside - and as of 11/29/2018, here are a few (not listing all,): CHARTREUSE BISTRO CLOUD SCIENCE PRAXIS CREATIVE SMOOTH (Skin & Waxing Boutique) The hours for the main Monticello Arcade building are: M-F 7:30 AM - 6 PM Sat 9 AM - 6 PM Sun closed Check it out, the full listing of businesses inside are on their website. It's very nicely and classically structured so the main hall makes for great pictures! Another bonus - its across the street from MacArthur Mall (on the City Hall side,) and across the street from Selden Market (Plume Street side.)”
“Food Lion and Plaza Azteca are the number one places I visit at this shopping center. There's a 24 hour fitness center on the far corner, a sub store, a little bar and even a chiropractors practice!”
“Great, well stocked, grocery store. Getting in and out of the Plaza can be a little bit of a challenge, but with the new road improvements and wider bridge that should be resolved.”
“It's in the hood. Lock your doors and move fast. The Dollar General is small but the staff is very helpful. The hair supply store has expired products. Ther post office is clean.”
“I frequent Pitbull Smoke Shop and more and Plaza Del Sol. I love Plaza! Loyal guest. Pitbull is cool as well. I'm an indecisive person, can't help it, I try not to be, but at the end of the day, I'm me, and I'm spending money. SOME of the sales associates are very patient and helpful.”
“They have a very large summer selection for women. From flips, sandals, heels and slip-ons. Store is bright, very clean and organized. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Plus, got $20 off for my next purchase. Yay me!”
“Dr. Kenneth Jennings, DDS, lives here and hr is simply the best dentist I've ever been to in my life. Him and all his staff are super friendly and he's the only dentist in the 757 I know of that takes Medicaid.
Don't know what's going on with that closed down grocery store, I guess it reopened as something else, but who cares, Dr. J is amazing. All I came here to say.”
“Picked up some ribs on sale at Food Lion. You can't go wrong with their Swift ribs and Sweet Baby Ray's sauce. Grabbed a $2.99 watermelon and stuck it in the fridge. It is juicy with good texture, but there is no sweet flavor at all. Like it was hydronically grown. Big letdown on the watermelon. On the plus side, we do have a new Panera Bread close by in Southern Shopping Center.”
“Kervan seriously has some of the best food in town. We try to make it out here as often as possible. The restaurant is clean and they are always so helpful and friendly. It's cute inside with a small section for groceries so if you are looking for something specialized they probably have it. Great food and good prices. The vegetarian platter is probably my go to, but we love everything. If you are looking for a healthy alternative you should stop in and have a try. You won't be disappointed.”
“I love to shop Save a lot for affordable nice meats. It's the place to go if you like a bang for your buck. They have a variety of fresh fruits and veggies for a good price as well. My only issue was at the register you can enter your phone for rewards I guess. I asked two employees about the program, but they didn't speak English. Overall a great shopping experience.”
“Prefer to shop here than a regular Walmart, way less people. Tyne employees seem just as miserable as any other Walmart though which says a lot about the corporation”

“It's not as full of stores as it used to be. The "1990s Mall" and COVID-19 have nearly killed all of the malls. But the Greenbrier Mall still has a great cheesesteak place, a Yankee Candle, a Torrid, Spencer's, plus several ⁸ stores. The outside ring around the Mall has a Cinema Cafe and restaurants. It's not very far from Rt 64 and 264.”
“There are only a couple of stores remaining in the mall, good eateries, etc... small crowds and an excellent place to find some GREAT bargains now, large food court, jewelry stores, shoe and department stores, PLENTY of parking, clean, clean restrooms”
“This mall is beautifully maintained and fun to walk around. The neon of the movie theater on the top floor is so cool looking. It's not crowded and is a little like a step back in time. But, it is lacking in businesses; lots of empty store fronts. The 757 art supply store is a highlight! Very cool. Also I got a free sample from the Japanese food place in the food court.”

“Other than the dreariness of the shopping center there are some very nice staff members behind the counter in the following stores. Food Lion, Family Dollar, Got it, and uhaul. Yes, there is a Uhaul, and the employees there are fabulous. I come to this shopping center almost every day. The people in Churchland are nice, too. One of them paid for my grandsons candy.”
