September 2025 by Rick
I live in Orange Virginia and have informed delivery so I see what mail is coming that day. Around August 29th 2025 I received a photo for delivery that day was the letter from the Virginia DMV with my registration and license plate stickers. It is now the 20th of September and I still have not received the letter. I've done the online missing mail form, I've talked with the Orange Virginia post office and the mail carrier and they have no idea what happened because it hasn't arrived in Orange Virginia. I need this letter ASAP because my registration is running out. I even stopped at Charlottesville DMV office and let them know but they want to charge me again to issue another registration and stickers for my car. Richmond post office, you need to find my letter and overnight to the Orange Virginia post office ASAP please.

This is the worst post office I’ve ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. I’ve had certified mail with important documents left in my mailbox when it should not have been delivered without the REQUIRED SIGNATURE, mail workers too lazy to deliver the packages, and then when I go ask for it in the office they tell me it’s out for delivery but still never shows. Currently have had the same package stuck in Richmond for several days (was supposed to be ORIGINALLY delivered 6/30/2025). Received notification it was finally supposed to be delivered between 7:45 and 11:45am today 7/5/2025, still never showed. This place needs to be shut down all together. Absolutely worthless and workers couldn’t care less about their jobs or helping people receive their mail. Sometimes it will say my package was delivered but really wasn’t. Then it gets lost and I have to file a claim. I’d say about 7/10 packages have been delivered with some sort of issue in the past year. Must not be difficult requirements to get a job there…

This is specific to the passport office. After making an appointment, waiting outside the closed office for about 90 minutes and watching everyone else with an appointment leave, getting screamed at for asking about the “rules” and for trying to help others who arrived after him, my new citizen husband literally had to get down on his knees and beg the woman to do her job and stamp and send his papers in. If you can go to any of the other passport offices in other USPS in the area, do it! I go to this PO all the time and the staff working the regular desk are always at least decent if not downright pleasant and lovely. The fact that this woman still has this job to wield her petty grievances and play stupid mind games with customers gives job protection a bad rep.

I came to pick up mail that was on hold and instead of giving me my mail he checked on a man that was behind me package first
I was here first so why do he get to check on his stuff before mine. He was more concerned about checking on the white man package making me wait longer I guess black people have to continue to come behind the white people even though I was here first. That is not right nor fair. It took forever for him to bring me my mail. This behavior should be unacceptable. It took him 10 minutes to bring me 2 pieces of mail because he was still checking on that white man package.

The passport lady is rude to the customers and doesn’t take the appropriate time to help nor give proper guidance. People including children waiting hours in the cold just for her to turn them around when she could’ve checked everyone’s paperwork from the beginning to avoid big lines and people just wasting their time. Then when you actually get to talk to her she will try to yell at you for any little thing and rush you through everything because she’s “too busy”. I understand they are understaff and they definitely need to hire more people.

I’ve never had a worse experience with government employees. These are some of the most wretched people I’ve ever had the displeasure of needing something from. My tax dollars are going to pay these people who basically called me stupid to my face, because I didn’t know how their system worked. They gave me no information on what I needed, then made me feel like I was and idiot for asking questions. You’re here to help people. Get off your high horse.

The staff here are always polite and helpful, which I appreciate. However, there is always a line whenever I visit. It seems like they need more workers to handle the demand. They also need to be transparent about passports and how to apply/make an appointment online because every time I’ve been here someone has been turned away for a passport and told they can’t make appointments. Improving this would make the experience much better.

I’m pretty positive that packages are being stolen at this distribution center. They’ll say that a package was “delivered” but in actuality, there was never a true attempt. Please begin an investigation

We believe this USPS Richmond is stealing veterans medications. We have yet another Medication Delivery go missing. Why isn't anyone doing anything about this?

Went right when they opened at 9. First woman in line was turned away for a money order because the only employee forgot to bring “the key” and said she couldn’t leave to pick it up - so no money orders. I asked to do fingerprints and she said “no walk ins today”. I asked how to schedule an appointment, she said I couldn’t do that either. About to drive up to NOVA to get to a decent Post Office. Good lord this city sometimes.
