I live in Newport News and at least once a month go to gardens for their ham and homemade chicken pot pies I also got a whole ham this christmas, had them cooking and cut it up - THE best ham!

We went for the first time yesterday. It reminded me of the old country stores I went to as a child. We purchased the restaurant week family meal and it was wonderful! We will be customers from now on. If you grew up on wholesome, Southern country food, then Darden's is a must. The young lady who waited on us was super helpful, too.

I love country stores and this one is a perfect example. Lost of good food for sale and the atmosphere is so country. The jam biscuits are awesome as are the baked goods.

Someone recommended I stop in here to check out the local country store. It is smaller than I expected, but the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I wasn't able to get any ham because of the holidays, but will go back next month. As with most country stores, they sell a bit of everything. From peanuts to ham, chicken salad and pimento cheese, to pre-packaged ham biscuits. I tried a bit of everything! Stop in if you are in the area.

Great place. We went for country ham, and found so much more. They have deli sliced country ham, pot pies, dessert pies, pimento cheese, and more. This is a great find.

Off the beaten path as you would expect from a "country store". Small, quaint place with good prices on what they have. Well worth the drive if you want some really good pot pies.
