We got flat tire at entrance of skyline drive, googled auto shop and found Gary's shop. He was so responsive and helpful. I took pictures of the flat tire. Gary taught us how to remove the broken tire on the phone. Though we did not fix the tire in his shop but got to replace a new one at Costco, I still would like to recommend his service. He was so kind to help strangers like us and professional to advise us how to replace it with spare tire.

My car broke down on I64 coming from a medical appointment at UVA, and I am so glad I found this place in my frantic searching. I called Gary and told him what happened, and he gave me the number for his tow guy. I called that guy, and he came out within 20 mins and got me and the car to Gary's in a timely and professional manner.
Once there, and even on the initial phone call before, Gary surmised that the issue with the car was a bad alternator. He dropped what he was doing and called a couple places around town to find a replacement for my somewhat old 2003 Grand Am. He explained that it would not be able to be finished that day, and then offered to drive me to a hotel which I gladly accepted. On the way there, he gave me a time estimate for completion, which he hit the next day.
Fair pricing and outstanding customer service throughout the entire ordeal. He might just be the best mechanic I've ever been to. Just an amazing, stand-up guy.

We were traveling from Iowa and ran into car problems. Gary was beyond helpful. It is great to find friendly, helpful, competent people when traveling! Amazing service!

We stopped here on route home to PA with a loose plastic cover on the undercarriage of our car. They were kind and fixed our minor problem right away and got us back on the road in no time. Would highly recommend!

If you’re in the area, look no further for a mechanic. Gary at G Payne’s is a life saver! My husband and I were in the area on vacation and hit a deer. The damage made our car un-drivable. Gary was able to get our car in, overnighted a part we needed, and had our car fixed within 24 hours. He was so friendly and even came in on his day off to work on our car. I would recommend him to anyone!!

Stop looking for mechanics, you’ve found the one you need right here. My Promaster van broke down on the way to a wedding. Gary was able to squeeze me in at the end of his day and get be back on the road.Great dude, great mechanic, great price.Thank you Gary for being honest and going above and beyond to help me out!
