I bet this place really shines when Covid has not shut everything down. Saw what were possibly 2 other guests the whole time. No lounge open to grab a cocktail. No pubs or breweries open or restaurants to sit and enjoy the flavor of the town. Drove 11 hours to get here and it's a ghost town. I'm not going to punish Hotel Leo, they've bent over backwards to stay hidden but make us as comfortable as they can. Great service, easy check in, beautiful and simple rooms(very minimalist) and the bed is fantastic! I would love to see this place when things are back to normal!

I wife and I decided to have a little getaway for this crazy Covid times. We found Hotel Leo was The best hotel with locations to place that we want to visit in Bellingham. The front office/concierge staff (name is Jamie) was warm, friendly and extremely helpful with our booking finding us the best rate with a view of the harbor and Puget Sound! Even with minimal staff here Jamie still made us feel extremely welcome for our "COVID GETAWAY" leaving us a personal note and a token for us choosing to stay with Hotel Leo. There is a full gym (see pics) and a good size theater room which I was told occasionally shows movies on a bigger screen. The hotel is very nostalgic and has a few social rooms and have lots of activities for small and large groups. We will most definitely be coming back and staying here again. Thank you Jamie and thank you hotel Leo!!

Classy, Modern, and Clean! A great space, right in the heart of downtown. It's a sample of history with tasteful renovations and artwork honoring the past. It's clean, has a small movie theatre in the basement, beautiful aesthetics, and comfortable rooms!

Great stay! Close to bars, restaurants and shops. Clear room, comfy bed and very nice staff...I would stay again if I get back to Bellingham.

Stayed here during a business trip over the weekend. I didn't arrive until after midnight for checking in, but after calling them to let them know, they had me download a remote key app that worked great! The Basic Studio I had was everything I needed! The bed was amazing, the bathroom was sooo nice (glass standup shower) and it had a desk for me to work at, and a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee/tea brew, sink and dishes. If I return to Bellingham again, this will be my first choice!

There was a good gym. Best part of it. I stayed in February in the third floor corner suite, view of the bay... and it was cold. Bed was wayyy too soft, draft under the door... so the heat went right out. I put the pillows there to block it which helped some. No bath tub only a shower... Art was nice. Everything else was fine. In a historical building which I appreciated...good location a walk to coop and yoga. if I could give half stars, I would give 3.5

This is the only hotel to stay in while visiting Bellingham. I was completely taken by the overall experience the first time I stayed at Hotel Leo in 2019 and make it a point to stay here for all my trips. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful...the location is convenient for anything you need during your stay.

I was at three renovated hotel four an event and it's still going through some growing pains. It's an old structure with some designer upgrades, but the old still pokes through. It's a great location and looks nice; I understand it's a bit noisy for light sleepers, however.

Attended the 2020: Cocktail Odyssey at the Leo. The hotel was nice but the venue wasn't. The tasting closed an hour early, no live music as advertised, zero appetizers which was also supposed to be included. I purchased the VIP package for 2 and was extremely disappointed. Looked thrown together last minute. I've never attended a "Gala" that looked like a cheap hotel party.

Service here are nice. Buy what a dumb idea ask customers download a apps for open the god damn door. What if the customer are old people don't know how to download apps, what if they don't use smart phone. Why not just use key card save everybody's time.

Hooray! Downtown finally has a boutique hotel, and it's an Instagram Dream: gorgeous historic details, Portuguese-tile lobby, and stylish modern rooms. No more queasy nights on Bill MacDonald parkway for this girl! We booked a grand full kitchen suite and it was more than large enough for 2 people. We peeked into a studio and, while very small, it was cozy and looked like a perfect romantic getaway for a couple that like each other A LOT (winky emoji). The hotel itself is expansive, offering many gathering spots: grand library with pool table, dorm-style social room and a small movie room. There is no hotel restaurant or bar. But hey, you're downtown, you don't need one anyway!

I attended a friend's 90th Birthday party in the ballroom. It was quite elegant with good food and an assortment of beverages. The sound system seemed a bit either too loud or too low. But it was a great evening. I was dismayed to only find 2 restrooms, which were not quite adequate for the number of folks in attendance. Also the only entrance doors open were on the alley side so we had to walk from the street back to the side doors.

Thank you Hotel Leo for accommodating our combination Business and Leisure stay. Your location was perfect to attend a nationally recognized artist event, local fare and waterfront. Thank you for allowing my recording artist daughter to play your beautiful grand piano and shoot beautiful historical pictures around your hotel! Your staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We will continue to tag our modeling pictures taken at your hotel on Instagram and Facebook. Thank you again for allowing us to take the beautiful pictures and stay at your magnificent historical Hotel.

This hotel was a nice place to spend a weekend with my girlfriend, and an excellent location for exploring downtown! The room was cozy and a good size for two guests, and the robes and bed (and free coffee!) were very nice. The service was good, and little touches like the free shuffleboard and pool table made it a fun place to be in between outings. Some parts of the hotel were still being finished and could use more decorations.

Hotel Leo, as advertised, is "In the Heart of Downtown Bellingham." The location was awesome, in walking distance to tons of eats, drinks, shopping, and activities. The modern renovation of a historic building was really nicely done, although one of the elevators isn't quite finished (see photo). There were some great touches and excellent customer service, but it felt a bit overpriced for the overall experience (ex. no restaurant or spa services on site like other hotels in comparable price range). You're definitely paying for location, which again was excellent. We were happy with the "online special" price but likely wouldn't return to pay the regular price. Hotel Leo and Heliotrope offer a fun benefit program through their app "The B'ham Concierge," which earns you 5% off a future stay when you collect 100 points by visiting recommended local spots. We look forward to trying Heliotrope next time! PRO's: - Location - Clean, modern renovation - Super soft, fluffy towels & robes - Comfy bed - French press coffee w/electric kettle in room - Nice TV, bluetooth speaker in room, Firestick available at desk to stream video from personal device - Impressive gym (multiple rooms, an actual squat rack [not Smith Machine], punching bag, TRX, cable machines, free weights, kettle bells, battle ropes, bosu, resistance bands, etc.) - Nice social areas (shuffle board, pool, library, theater...) - Friendly customer service CON's: - Pricey - No restaurant on-site (pay extra fee for room delivery service from nearby restaurants) - Minimalist curtains let a lot of light in (early wake-up) - Hair dryer not in room (kept at concierge desk) - Difficult temperature regulation in room - Really thin walls (it sounded like our neighbor was inside our room) - $25 extra for parking on-site

Very comfortable king mattress, I slept like a baby. The aesthetic of the entire hotel was amazing. Great art on the walls of the room and in the lobby which created an amazing modern feel inside an older historic building. Friendly and helpful staff made everything easy. Walking distance from plenty of bars and food options open late into the night. Over all an awesome experience while staying in Bellingham! I would for sure stay here again :)

This hotel was awesome! I was not able to find a single thing wrong with the place. We were in the most modest room type and it was still spacious and felt like so much more than just a place to sleep. Everything was clean, thoughtfully designed and visually pleasing. The view in the morning over Bellingham was a wonderful thing to wake up to. We were also able to hop out the door to all of Bellingham’s downtown - could not have a better location! Highly recommend.
