I love WAFD. It shocks me every time I walk in and they call me by name I’ve banked with Tapco credit Union for Over 30 years. They asked me for ID when I was making a deposit.!
More importantly they’ve got great rates, high interest yields, have always been very professional and responsive to my needs. Lately I’ve had to make a series of overseas wires Which takes a lot of personal time from their representative. I feel like I’m a burden, but they have never treated me that way. I also love their online banking app. Very easy to use. Washington Federal thank you for what you do. I’m very glad you’re my bank.

I applied for an account online. There's nothing special about me, or my documentation, or anything, but within a couple hours they emailed me saying I needed to go into a branch for my needs, as if there was something special. So I called the number in the email and they had no idea why. They suggested I apply again, so I did, and it was the same thing. So I went down to the branch.
They opened the account, and then when it came time to do the initial deposit I handed them the same card I used to pay the initial deposit online twice, from which they drew the money, and it even showed up in the card account that way, and they told me they couldn't take it. Instead they wanted me to either use the ATM to withdraw $40 in cash from their own bank to put into the account inside the same bank, or do a money transfer, both of which would result in paying the bank the card account multiple fees.
The manager looked in the system and couldn't find any reason why my online application was rejected and I was told to go down there to open an account. I took this as a seriously bad omen.
The people were nice in there, but that was a giant waste of my time and gas to go drive down there for that, and just to be cornered by one bank into giving money to a different bank.
It would have been great to avoid the other banks and have the logical local bank to work with but my gosh...after 3 attempts...no way. That's a bad, bad omen. Something's not right about this bank.

I came to them really only applying for a land loan but they pushed and pushed a land loan + construction loan on me. Just to deny me. I already had 70% of the funds for the land I wanted, a stable income and good credit. Basically, it was a waste of time and tanked my credit score. They were informational, nice and responsive but ultimately they had their own agenda. I'm gonna try BECU instead considering WaFd have added new fees to their loans too following the rejection of my application.

I opened a bank account here only for the Seattle Seawolves debit card.. Nice bank, friendly staff and great help.. I have moved from Wells Fargo to WaFd and already see a big change..

Do not do business banking here. Over 30 minutes to get change for a business in downtown Seattle. They do not use automatic counting machines. Staff are slow and unavailable. Please go to Bank of America or any real bank with competent employees

I had a great experience here, especially opening an account with Daniel. He was extremely helpful with all of my banking needs and such a friendly person to work with. He was by far the best person I have worked with at a bank and I would highly recommend working with him.

I went to numerous banks in the area just to get a couple rolls of quarters. Some were courteous and some not so courteous. Not one bank I visited would entertain me. Said I needed an account to get quarters. Came here to WaFd bank and right away was greeted with courtesy and respect. I asked the gentleman if I can get quarters. He replied, “sure no problem sir. How many did need.” To my surprise after driving around to different banks to get quarters, I finally found one that would. I just wanted to wash my clothes before heading back to Guam. Thank you.
