Return Policy: ★★☆☆☆
During a recent experience at the Home Depot on E Sprague, I encountered some challenges with their return policy that potential customers might find worth noting. Tasked by my employer to return leftover materials, I ran into a roadblock when we couldn't locate the original purchase receipt.
Unfortunately, Home Depot's policy is quite strict regarding returns without a receipt: they refuse to process returns over $50. This policy can be inconvenient, especially in situations where proof of purchase is lost or unavailable. For smaller items or lower-cost materials, this might not pose a significant issue, but for larger projects that involve substantial investment in supplies, this could become problematic.
Customer Service: ★★★☆☆
The staff at the store were polite and did their best to assist within the constraints of store policies. They explained the limitations clearly and suggested keeping a better track of receipts in the future for smoother transactions. While their professionalism is appreciated, the inflexibility of the policy could be a deterrent for professionals and contractors who handle bulk materials and may, from time to time, need to make returns.
Overall Thoughts:
If you frequently shop for home improvement supplies and think there might be a chance you'll need to return items, it's crucial to be aware of Home Depot's strict receipt policy. The store offers a great selection and the staff are helpful, but their less-than-accommodating return policy for items over $50 without a receipt can be a significant inconvenience. I recommend keeping all receipts organized or exploring alternative stores with more lenient return policies for large projects.

Installed very expensive defective blinds and have not corrected the defective head rail after many months of waiting. I will report this to the BBB.

Just like Kmart before they went bankrupt - no employees in the lighting department to help me with needing new lighting in my living room

I used to prefer this store over Lowes across the street or any of the Ace Hardware stores, but I walked in there today to buy some lighting and about half the staff were wearing masks and half weren't. Of those who were, about 40% weren't wearing them properly. The customers wearing masks were about 50/50. Those that were not wearing masks glared at you as if challenging you to say something. This is really too bad because just mere yards away is Costco and they insist everyone wear a mask properly. It's also too bad because I really liked this Home Depot. Oh well, they are not the only hardware store in the area and I can always order online.

I needed paint for the house, but only had paint chips. Brad in the paint department was so helpful. He was able to perfectly match the paint I needed. He also made several great recommendations on type of paint to use. Thanks Brad for the great customer service @

The attitudes of most employees and management is horrendous. Arrogance would be too kind of a word for the management at this store. You are much better off to go to Lowe's.
