I rented a vehicle from them and returned it with zero damage. The Hertz employees moved the vehicle, washed it and “then noticed damage”. They have turned me in to their claims company who is now threatening legal action, a lawsuit and filing against my credit. Don’t trust these folks. Washington is known for apples but this location should be known for bad ones.

Hertz heading to Chapter 11 again? Based on my experience, I would not be surprised. Poor business decisions are continuing after the company has emerged from chapter 11. I am a Presidents Circle member and had close to 2 months of rental days in 2023 (or close to 3x the number of days needed to arrive at Pres Circle status – an email I just received from Hertz indicates that I am in the top 10% of their customers). I had a change of plans when I landed in Spokane in December, and as I always do as a professional courtesy, I tried to cancel my reservation via their app on my Android phone. App kept hanging when I got to the cancelation screen. After about 10-15 minutes, I just exited. Then I got a charge on my credit card for $49.60. I do not recall agreeing to this charge at time of rental. Confirmation email does not indicate this policy. In fact, the confirmation email in the small print at the bottom specifically indicates “The cancellation or no-show amounts and details will also be provided in your confirmation email.” – NOPE email says nothing about this. Small print also specifically states that that “For non-prepaid reservations, Hertz makes no guarantee that a rental car in the car class reserved will be available at the time of rent.” So, the net is that they take no responsibility if they do not have vehicle that is reserved, but feel like consumers are stupid enough to pay a fee if we do not pick up the vehicle. After seeing that charge in December, I found that National has a status match with Hertz – AWESOME. My experience on my last 4 rentals is that National has better cars available for the Executive Elite members, costs have been similar, and a MUCH better experience. I called the Hertz national number. First call was dropped after someone finally picked up. Second call lasted 38 minutes with someone that finally said they had authority to make business decisions on behalf of Hertz and that she did not care if Presidents Circle members left for another rental agency over a few dollars. I do not believe that this policy, without proper communication and agreement from customers would hold up in court. It would not surprise me to see a class action lawsuit pop up, however I would not be a supporter of one as the free market system normally addresses stupidity in due time. They provided an excellent vehicle for our group to use. One of the cleanest and nicest rental cars that I’ve driven in a long time. Would use this location again and appreciated the excellent service from staff.

We had incredible service from choosing to make a reservation to picking up the cars to turning them in. On top of that we had wonderful vehicles to be spoiled in as we traveled to Montana. Highly recommend this company for your rental needs.

The young girl at the desk in Spokane, handling both Thrifty and Hertz, was a pleasure to deal with it. Unfortunately, the rental agency is crooked. They upcharged me around $500 for returning the car in less than perfect condition inside. They just hit your credit card with NO explanation of why. Stay away from their cheap price because you will pay for it later with fees that they pull out of the air.

Negative 5 stars if I could !!Adam at Hertz rental in Spokane Wa airport.. no excuse for how RUDE and condescending he is.. wait for a different agent.He should not be representing this company!

Reservation was ready and pick-up was smooth. Staff were quick and registered an extra driver with no issues. Offered an upgrade, but we declined. Process was made very easy. Will update if needed after check-in.
