Castle has the best customer service. We have been shopping at this location for more than a decade and never had an employee go out of his way like he has. Very patient with customers and motivated to help. We’re definitely looking for him every time we shop here.

I have three boys and we try Dick’s every year for back to school items like Nike shoes and the “name brand” clothes they like - even in the off season (not back to school) they are consistently out of sizes and merchandise. For myself, the women’s clothing is never stocked either. While you can occasionally find a good deal, the chances are it will not be available in the size/color you want. Part of retail is being able to keep up with and anticipate the customer demand of items, and unfortunately this location is always severely underperforming.South Hill mall location has far better success rates with finding correct sizing and color options.

absolute worst customer service/experience at this location. avoid at all costs. came to return a bike purchased online - the EXTREMELY unhelpful cashier, Andy, is whom i had the displeasure of working with, was so very unhelpful. i did not have the receipt, but i DID have the card used to purchase the bike. for whatever reason the purchase was not pulling up with the card. they tried to offer a return with no receipt and we would get store credit of $150 less than what i paid for the bike. we even got the manager, Frank, involved who also not once mentioned calling to get the receipt emailed to me. i called customer service number to file a complaint against Andy (and the manager Frank), the wonderful lady on the phone said she could resend the receipt. why didn’t Andy tell us that? or the manager Frank? knowing it was an online purchase and the transaction not populating using just the card, as an employee, this is something they should have suggested to assist the customer. if the cashier did not, the manager sure as heck should have. aren’t managers supposed to know these things? but they did not. instead Andy laughed like something was funny. went back inside with the receipt that the customer service lady on the phone provided me and was able to complete the refund.very satisfied with their customer service on the phone - but dissatisfied with the service from the cashier and manager in store. very un-knowledgeable and unprofessional staff in store.

Kinda disappointed with selection of merchandise for Pro Women's teams at this store. Very little OL Reign gear and no Storm gear at all. This is during their seasons also. With so many women in leadership positions in the company, I would have thought there would be more. Store does have a good variety of other merchandise and store seemed pretty clean. Tough to grow women's sports without visibility.

This is absolutely the worst Sporting Goods store in Tacoma. Avoid it at all costs. Go to Big 5, save yourself some frustration. I went there last week to buy some stuff for my son. Soccer season starts soon and he needed some cleats. So I was there, in the shoe isle looking for cleats. Not only was I not approached by anyone, I was completely ignored by the employee standing 10 feet away. After some time and some body language of frustration, another employee yelled from 20 feet away asking if I needed help. I told him what I needed and he directed me upstairs. There were no employees upstairs and only the display shoes were out, so employees were required for purchase. Anyway I found what I needed, took a lap around the upstairs, looking for an employee and back to the cleat section. After about 10 minutes I rang the service bell, 5 minutes later an employee appears and asks me what I need. I show her the shoe and give her the sizes I wanted to try. She disappeared again and returned about 5 minutes later with the box with the other shoe, from display in it and leaves. Doesn't say anything. We'll I had a complete pair of shoes but they didn't fit right. I looked around to see if maybe she was helping someone else. Nope, there was nobody else around. I left empty handed, went to Big 5, spent 250 dollars and was in and out in 5 minutes. Great service at Big 5. Go there.

Placed a store pick up order for 2 nike items each showing 3 in stock. 2 hours later received an email saying none of the items where in stock at Tacoma but I could pick them up at another store. I selected Puyallup store, showing 4 of each item in stock. Within 15 minutes I received a text message saying all or part of my order was canceled because it is out of stock in Puyallup. If I have to have my items shipped because you can't get your inventory updated or your team on board with what you advertise online "in store order pick up" I might as well shop somewhere else. Nike sells the same merch at the same price. There is no reason for you to be in business.

My wife and I wanted to buy a couple of kayaks so I did a lot of research online (various vendors) and in person, including several trips to Dick's Sporting Goods in Tacoma. One of their managers (Frank) was super helpful in telling me about various kayaks that they sell. He told me they get a lot of new boats in mid-February that usually sell out within a couple of months. I decided that their "Lifetime Teton Angler 100" 10' kayaks would be good for us (both beginners), based on their design and on the price. When it was time to actually purchase the kayaks, Julio was really patient and helpful in finding the boats we were looking for (making sure we found the 10' boats, choosing the right color, unfolding the seats) as well as helping us to find the correct paddles. Dick's was also helpful by storing our kayaks about a week until I could install some "J" racks on the roof of my car and return to pick up the boats. Two women from the store even helped me lift the kayaks into the "J" racks. I had a terrific experience with Dick's; they have an excellent selection of products and without exception their staff is friendly and helpful.

Store is dirty and not well maintained. There are clothes everywhere that shouldn’t be there, go back racks blocking isles and no one insight restocking the shelves or cleaning up. Found trash all over the place on shelves and wrappers of opened products. The fitting rooms were dirty, clothes laying everywhere, tons of dust and dirt on the floors and ceiling. Not worth it.

I received a holiday gift from Dicks that was too big. I did not have the receipt because the gift giver was on holiday. I went into the store with my gift in a bag and asked to exchange it. Because I did not have the proof of purchase the associate said I could not exchange it for the smaller size that I needed. She said it because I could have stolen the merchandise. I asked if a manager could help with the process and she said: "NO, it's a terrible policy, and even a manager would not be able to help, sorry". I have purchased many items at Dick's, I am an avid runner. I have never had to exchange a gift that someone has bought me. I am so disappointed, that I think I will just return the items and use another store that is friendly to customers.
