Hurricane Animal Hospital is absolutely wonderful! The doctors and the staff are caring, compassionate, professional, and extremely good at what they do. They take the time to listen and offer treatment options keeping in mind cost and pet comfort. Hurricane is without a doubt the best veterinary clinic we have ever been to.

They are working with me on Max my senior dog who suffers from allergies
They seem to want to help Max and are very informative about the latest allergy drugs and there side affects concerning Max's overall health The doctor and her helper were very good at explaining all this to me which in itself is not the easiest Good job!

We love Dr. Morissette. She loves and cares for your animals like they’re her own. She is so smart that I trust her with my Animals life. the vets at Hurricane Animal Hospital are top notch doctors. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Dr. Morrisette is the best! She sat and explained things to me and took a real interest in helping my girl get well. The 2 vet techs (I’m thinking Maggie or Molly and maybe Haley) were so sweet and patient with Bella. Thank you for all you do.

Appointment was prompt, staff friendly and Dr. Thomas was very thorough in her explanation of her diagnosis on my cat which didn’t have a serious issue like I suspected.

Worst experience. Vet not there to help an animal an hour before they close. They tried to send me to an ER because they didn’t want to help my dog. For an animal hospital it sure doesn’t seem like they want to help animals. Would not recommend or send any of my friends there. When you live 10 seconds down the road from this place it’s pretty sad they aren’t willing to help. I hope they feel good about letting an animal go in pain.

Nurse appointment for our 15 year old male cat. Cordial staff, in and out without any undue delay.

We have always appreciated having an animal hospital in close proximity that we could take our dog for preventative services as well as care in case of an emergency. We brought our puppy to Hurricane Animal Hospital beginning in 2015 and stayed with them for 9 years. We have always taken great care of our dog and followed every recommendation by the veterinarian...regular checkups, screenings, vaccinations, bloodwork, preventive heart worm medications etc. We often recommended them when friends would be in need of a veterinary hospital for care.
That is until this August when we realized they are unequipped to be called a "hospital". Our dog started have breathing issues (pug) and after a couple visits and not being able to diagnose or treat his issue, they told us they are unable to do anything further. They admitted they have no ultrasounds or other equipment found in animal hospitals and told us we should take our dog to an animal hospital in Columbus, OH where he could have tests run. We did that and the visit to MedVet in Columbus, OH was comprehensive and thorough. He was diagnosed with a partially collapsed trachea and medication was prescribed to help ease his breathing.
Weeks later, he became very short of breath and was struggling to breathe. It was after hours at Hurricane Animal "Hospital" so we had to take him to South Charleston Animal Hospital which was open from 7pm to 7am. When we arrived, they immediately put him in oxygen and he rested through the night. Because they closed at 7am, we then headed for our veterinarian at Hurricane Animal "Hospital". When we arrived, the staff informed us they could not help us that day because they wouldn't have a veterinarian there all day. They couldn't put him in oxygen because they didn't have a vet to order it. To say the least, we were shocked! It was apparent he was struggling to breathe and I implored them to call one of the two vets to ask for the order. They finally agreed and got the order. Then they told us, we're sorry, we don't have anyway of giving him oxygen because he was too big. He was a small pug. I asked to see the apparatus and again I was shocked when it was so tiny, I doubt you could fit a squirrel in it! So, they are not equipped with Oxygen. We had to leave and go to Cross Lanes Animal Hospital in order to give him Oxygen. They were very kind and we all agreed we needed to get our beloved dog to MedVet in Columbus asap. We did that and by the time we arrived, he also had a collapsed larynx. He died. We are heartbroken.
It is important to get the word out that Hurricane Animal "Hospital" is not equipped with diagnostic testing equipment or enough veterinarians to be called an animal hospital. Please remember this in case you are relying on them for help in case of a pet emergency because it's likely they will not be able to save your pet.
Attention:
Please read the response from Hurricane Animal “Hospital” two days after my review.
The response I received today unfortunately demonstrated my review was not even read. ?. Our emergency was not near closing time. In fact, it was in the morning when you had just opened. Second, I didn’t call on the phone…I was in you facility face to face with you so it was not a communication issue as you said. Third, You definitely were not overwhelmed by critical cases as you informed me you had no veterinarians present and wouldn’t ALL DAY!!! It’s sad that a form letter response is what I was answered with. Obviously, no one cares at Hurricane Animal “Hospital” so no one actually reads the reviews that are sent to you. This business has disturbing problems that make critical care for our pets impossible to depend upon. Please do better for those patients who come to you with trust and pay you lots and lots of money for care.

I was very disappointed in the way the office staff treated me when I tried to get an update on my cat that was hospitalized at their facility. Communication was terrible, I kept trying to get a hold of someone to ask questions and it was closing time before anyone got back to me and too late for me to visit or change the course of action which is what I had been trying to accomplish all day with no return calls. We will be changing vet offices.
