Was kinda let down. You can't meet any of the dogs. You look though a book too see what they have but the cats can walk around....they say it's because the dogs act up when people walk though....I volunteered at a few animal shelters and have never seen a shelter do that. I can see why some of the dogs have been there for year's. It's all just kinda sad. From what I could see it looked clean and the cat look happy and healthy.

The only complaint is that they promise to call you back but don't. Be warned.

We adopted Oreo, a cocker spaniel, quite a few years ago. I wonder if the shelter still thinks of her because of the joy she brought, like she brings us still lol

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Dog and Cat Shelter of Sheridan Wyoming, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment I stepped foot into the shelter, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. The staff members were not only knowledgeable and professional, but they also displayed a genuine passion and love for the animals under their care. The dogs and cats at the shelter are truly special. It is evident that they are well taken care of and receive a tremendous amount of love and attention. Each animal has a unique personality, and it is heartwarming to see how the staff members go above and beyond to ensure their comfort and happiness. The shelter provides a safe and nurturing environment for these furry friends until they find their forever homes. In addition to providing exceptional service and care, the Dog and Cat Shelter of Sheridan Wyoming relies on the generosity of donations from the community to continue their important work. They understand the value of any kind of donation, whether it be financial contributions, food, toys, or time. It is inspiring to see how the shelter actively engages with the community, educating them on the importance of animal welfare and advocating for the needs of the animals in their care.I wholeheartedly recommend the Dog and Cat Shelter of Sheridan Wyoming to anyone looking to adopt a new furry family member or to support a worthy cause. The staff's dedication, the loving animals, and the shelter's need for donations make this establishment truly deserving of recognition. By choosing to support this shelter, you not only give a loving home to a dog or cat in need but also contribute to the overall welfare of these precious animals

They wouldn't allow any alternative forms of proof other than closing documents or tax documents proving that we own our house which wouldn't have been a problem but they cannot even allow the adoption to go through plus we live out of state

Don't call them early or when they are in a bad mood, because they will snippy with you and a bit angry, which will end up with them putting you on a black list. I assisted a veteran at our non-profit to get a dog from them, he somehow offended them. They then lied to us for over a month, making us change plans every week, saying each week someone was looking at him now. Until finally someone told us basically to stop trying as they are not letting us adopt the dog. Our first assumption was they liked the dog so much they were just trying to keep it. But after some reflection, either they are profiting off of NOT adopting dogs by cashing in on grants when having too many dogs, or the worker there are just petty people, or have something against Veterans.

This shelter is just a way to make money. All the employees are in on it, they just wanna get paid, no volunteers here, which is why they are short staffed. They dont care about the animals or you. They dont care if the get them adopted, they only care to make money by getting Grant's and could care less about animals or getting them homes. You can hear it I thier voices, they actually sounded annoyed by dealing with people who want to adopt.

when you dog gets stolen and dropped off at the shelter and the shelter doesn’t think to scan for her microchip and adopts her out to someone else and now you have to hire a lawyer. terrible.

I have nothing but respect for the folks who work at this shelter. They work very hard to find the best matches for pets that end up at their facility.I do see a significant problem with roaming pets in Sheridan, as well as neighboring towns. This puts a burden on a shelter that is not large and may not have an abundance of financial resources.
