“Loved this place, but as of yesterday, another closure of a small pharmacy. Really sad that all we're left with is the poor service of CVS and Walgreens and their endless lines.”

“Have only spoke on phone so can only say the woman I talked with was very nice and answered my questions. Waiting on prescription and will update as to shipping time and quality etc. But for now they seemed nice and professional.Update : received first prescription and was somewhat upset due to minimum cost and barely getting much medication, but im pretty sure they sent mine overnight and they did not mention it. So maybe they did this just to be nice after paying the minimum cost. Was appreciated big time and they did this without any complaints or asking by me. Just placed next refill this past Friday and received email saying will be updated on when is shipped (monday today). Will update as to consistency and relative results with medication relative to other compounding pharmacies used, and regular shipping times once received. But so far seem to be a very professional and helpful business.”

“I hesitate to share how great these guys are as they may get overwhelmed by customers fleeing other pharmacies. But in fairness, these folks answer the phone and work with you to resolve problems like getting approval and arranging for delivery. I'm so grateful.”

“While picking up prescriptions at the Berkeley CVS store I had the help of the pharmacist, David, who truly provided Legendary Customer Service. Thanks to David's help, knowledge and care I will continue to shop at CVS. You are most fortunate to have such an excellent employee.”

“Excellent pharmacy. The staff is very professional, competent and knowledgeable. It is the pharmacy manager Joel that keeps me coming back and recommending CVS to my family and friends.”

“I have found the people working at this pharmacy to be extremely helpful, supportive, accommodating, and quick to fill a prescription on the spot. They have even helped me identify the proper way to get my insurance to cover a medication I need that is being denied. I have appreciated their expertise and consideration. I have used many pharmacies in many cities and this one has been a particularly outstanding one.”

“A rare CVS W!! This pharmacy team is really amazing. Cho from the pharmacy helped me for 30 minutes to figure out an annoying insurance issue. The pharmacy staff are overworked as with any CVS/walgreens but they are very caring and helpful and it genuinely felt like they wanted to help”

“They did not process my western union amazon order. i had to call many times to amazon and western union to figure out it was walgreens who did not process the order. So i called walgreens to let them know. The manager says we don't have western union to pay amazon, yet i did it at the computer near the pharmacy. Pay bill, amazon, enter code, etc...got a receipt and western union code from walgreens for it. what kind of place is this? shut it down.”

“I’ve been going to this CVS for at least 10 years. Never once did I have a problem. The staff are helpful. The store is clean. Large parking lot. Even back in the day with Covid and all of the issues with vaccinations, some times one may need to wait, but they do a great job. Even though the techs giving shots one after another, they manage to be pleasant and caring. Of all the CVS’s around Berkeley, this one is the best!”

“Well I dunno what everyone else's experience was in here seems like since it's so close to the college it gets a bad wrap. I like the location.... Went in to add money to my chime card... accidentally gave Jorge the manager a extra $100 he handed it back to me with no problem. I had to write him a review he was a honest man for that. Good to know it's still good people in the world keep being that dope man thank you.”

“People have been giving this location terrible reviews so I thought I'd balance it out with a few thoughts. My original pharmacy was the Walgreens at 51st and Telegraph. But with the rampant car break-ins, a couple of armed robberies, and armed carjackings at that location, I refused to go there. So I switched to the Walgreens on Gilman in Berkeley. On a few visits (spaced months apart) the storefront was boarded up because someone rammed a car through the front doors to steal their ATM machine. But I kept going there until prescriptions started being delayed due to lack of pharmacists. Their phone recording stated that they weren't sure if/when the pharmacists would return. It wasn't just for a day or two, it was weeks. So I was forced to switch pharmacies once again. I have no idea if they even have pharmacists at that location anymore, to this day. Thankfully, I found the Adeline location, and they regularly have pharmacists. Yes, you always have to wait on line for 20-45 min, which sucks. The hours are short because, apparently, the pharmacists' union declared that there always needs to be a minimum number of pharmacists on duty because they've been held up at gunpoint too many times, and the minimum number is to assure their safety and peace of mind. We should not begrudge them that, it is not their fault. Why they can't hire more pharmacists is a bigger area-wide, societal question.Despite the long lines, every time I've spoken to a pharmacist in person or on the phone, they've all, always, been extremely patient, courteous, and thoughtfully answer all my questions. Which is kind of remarkable given how busy they are.Sure, people can write bad reviews. But I hope you'll all take a look at what's going on with all the pharmacies in the area before you bash this one. It's the best of what's left and I, for one, am grateful they're still hanging in there.”
