I got two stylish shirts in great condition for $5 a piece, and Amberina also provided high quality advice about personal defense and being careful in the city. She mentioned that soon she will be reorganizing to make room for local artist to sell their works in her shop.”
“I was looking for a nice African outfit for a vacation trip, found Lola's African Apparel and made an appointment. She was awesome!!! She explained to me what actually would look better for me and was spot on. Also created the matching head wrap. I was very pleased and got lots of compliments! I highly recommend her!!!”

She helped me find the right size (we ended up going with a set of earrings) and was showed so much patience as I carefully made my decision. “Quite simoly, one of my newest favourites.. The sheer confidence of someone making oversize but comfortable clothing with prices that reflect both maturity with class. This is the brand's flagship and original store an I am a fan. This store is better stocked and more varied than the Palo Alto store. I found the Russian sales woman very smart, honest when some colours did not suit me and well informed about other brands that I may like. Bryn Walker is a wonderful brand.. not for the faint hearted.. oversized and timeless .. very distinctive and tres tres chic..”
“Lava 9 is my favorite store where I can always find something beautiful to wear. Heidi is always so helpful, and has great taste which is reflected in her store. The prices are reasonable and fair and the quality is high.”
“This is always a shop I enjoy visiting when in the area. They have such a great selection of funky and classic clothes and their sale racks have reasonably priced pieces from brands such as Johnny Was. I would say overall, this is a high-end store, so expect to spend big bucks if you're not only checking out the sale racks outside. The staff are friendly enough and make sure you know that their clothing looks good on you.”

“I have been coming to Radbird for several years. I can always find stylish designer pieces although they tend to be on the pricier side of preowned clothing. Their prices seem to always land somewhere between $200-$400. The fine jewelry collection is gorgeous.The ladies who work there are always kind but the fitting rooms could use some full length mirrors.”

“Amber is a wizard. She took my two tone, brassy hair and matched it perfectly to my natural color in two and a half hours. She's so sweet and unpretentious, and the store has more style than pretty much anywhere else in Oakland. Other salons cost twice as much and give you a much worse experience. Amber is a truly awesome hairstylist and I can't recommend her enough.”
“I love this shop. It's my neighborhood place to go for everything I could possibly want when it comes to shopping for new clothing, shoes and accessories. I love popping in at least once or twice a month. When I visit, I like to survey the store and I always seem to find something new or what I want. The merchandise is of quality brands , with trendy and unique items that make it the boutque it is. The staff and owners are friendly and helpful, and are a long time buiness. I kind of consider them a neighborhood institution. They are a huge anchor in this distric. One of my go to's.”
“I've walked by this store many times. I always paused or slowed down because of the great window displays but never walked in: I mean, do I need another pair of earrings?Turns out I do! (And for less than $40!)I also needed very chic trousers a bit reminiscent of Katharine Hepburn, that I can wear all year, because I need all the help as I can get to reach my goal of casual elegance - still unattained but these things will get me closer, lol.Whoever does the buying has a great design sense. Great place to pick up gifts, too. The whole experience - ambience, lovely young woman who helped me, beautiful things I wouldn't find on Amazon - was such a nice boost that I felt moved to bother to write a review!And because I previously overlooked the shop, I thought I'd point it out to others. It reminded me that shopping IRL is usually way more fun and effective for clothes and gifts, and that I'm relieved that retail and Oakland are not dead.And so conveniently located near La Farine, Cole Coffee...”

“I enjoyed shopping in Personal Pizazz. The selection of vintage looking clothing is strikingly well done. I particularly enjoyed the discount rack with items from $5 to $75. There are rows of cool tops, cashmere items and jeans for days. The jewel selection is very interesting and I'm sure everyone would find something to take home.”

“After bringing countless friends here to shop, while I looked on-pleased to watch other people spend their $$$, I went there for myself yesterday and bought some gorgeous clothes. Love the store, the fabrics, the design & sensibility, the JEWELRY- it's all amazing. The prices are quite reasonable, considering they're hand-designed and unique-made from gorgeous fabrics. The sizing also works for me (quite tall) & friends (small, petite) I'm in love...with a LOCAL store, no less. But hey- worth a trip from anywhere you are in the Bay & great lunch spots & coffee & handmade chocolates up the street!!”
“The selection of gifts are vibrant, uniquely designed, and thoughtfully curated. I appreciated how the store owner allowed me to pair and match various baskets even though they were filled with inventory. I was able to pick up last-minute Christmas presents from Nepal, Kenya and India. If you are looking to add more color or geometric designs to your household, there's a drool-worthy section of constellation-inspired houseware (like salt cellars with stars on them) and beautiful basket planters all over the shop.”

“I would highly recommend coming here! The owner Michael is nice and the store is really clean. All of the clothing was sorted by color and it was very well organized. We liked looking through all the racks, all of the clothes were great quality and there was something there for everyone. The prices were also extremely fair. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Berkeley!”
