“We stopped in here because we were passing by and I was out of whiskey at home. For a small place, they have a great selection and the staff was really friendly and eager to help. Chuka was a delight to chat with and told us they do some tastings on Thursdays from 5 to 8 so we will definitely be back to check that out!”

“A. Litteri is a classic -- small but mighty! They have a great assortment of fresh pastas, a tasty selection of Italian cheeses, and lots of fun condiments and such. (They also have what's supposed to be a terrific wine selection, but we haven't sampled that.) We even found fresh apple pie there for Pi Day. Nice, helpful people, too!”

“This is a tremendous neighborhood hidden gem. We had a great salad and pizza. They sell lots of groceries and delicacies, including beer and wine to take away. I welcome the day they get a liquor license so we can drink there.”

“Great wine shop with a fantastic point of view. The service was excellent and on point, without being overbearing. The passion for their set of wines was evident and they clearly enjoyed sharing information on their wines. Highly recommend!”

“They kicked my friend and I out for taking to long but he was tryna buy groceries and I was not about to spend all of my money in an expensive market. Other than the "Hold Up" the store was pretty nice. A variety selection of snacks and they take EBT”

“I can’t say enough good things about this place. Dog-friendly, will order in specialty items, and a great selection of wines, but what makes it truly special is the staff-they are incredibly professional, funny, and patient.”

“Just an hour ago, I had the pleasure of presenting wines at Verified Wines and Fine Spirits and was genuinely impressed by the experience. The community here, led by Max and his dedicated team, is incredibly welcoming — it's like being part of a family. Sharing the exquisite Salton Wines from Brazil with such enthusiastic customers on a lively Tuesday evening was a delight. The shop's pet-friendly environment adds to the charm, making it feel like a slice of wine country right here in DC. A big thank you for the wonderful experience – I'm already excited for the opportunity to come back and share more wonderful wines. And to whoever is reading this review and feeling my excitement, here are the pictures I took to document the whole experience. I will cherish this day forever!”

“This just became my new favorite sandwich spot…I would rate it 6 stars if I could! I got the Stadium sandwich on a sub roll and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, and super friendly employees make this a lovely gem in the Navy Yard area. Highly recommend!”

“A family member in D.C. was recently engaged and my husband and I wanted to send a congratulatory gift basket to the happy couple. We're based in CA and came across Calvert Woodley here on Yelp. I called the store and spoke with the manager Schuyler Jones- he helped me create a wonderful gift basket, was very helpful, patient and made nice suggestions. He coordinated delivery which gave me peace of mind from across the country that the basket would be delivered smoothly and received by the couple! Thank you Schuyler!”

“One of the best place to get wide range of brands in Tequila , whisky and vodka etc.Just talk to the staff about the price if u are unhappy about the price they are always ready to fix it . Staff is very friendly and if you are confused to select right one or to gift someone, staff provides best suggestions if you ask. You get pretty much everything here at affordable price”

“Everyone Loves LAX! Their life mission is to get you in & out. Excellent customer service, as they will let you know what's trending & getting good feedback, and what will get you the best buck for your bang. They also have drink samples sometimes during the afternoon time. Bargain wise there is no competition, as they have the best prices in the D.M.V. Even compared to all the wholesale retailers (Costco, BJS, Sam's etc.) The area is a bit sketchy, as it's in the heart of the hood. Advice for out of towners: mind yours & stick to the task at hand & you'll be straight!! Parking is tight, especially at night & even worse on the weekends. So my suggestion is that you do your haul earlier in the day!”

“Wide variety of fine wines and spirits. Staff is friendly and very helpful. They have a lot of expensive stuff so might not be the best if you’re looking for a $10 bottle of wine (for that there’s Streets Market next door). But if you’re looking for something special then Georgetown Wine & Spirits is the right place. As somebody who primarily drinks water, juice, tea, and beer, the folks in Georgetown Wine & Spirits Ware a lifesaver with recommendations. Give them a shot you won’t be disappointed.”

“First time in this liqueur store even live in Mount Pleasant for 11 years. VERY friendly bearded gentleman, forgot to ask him for name, bought MEZCAL, he had four different kinds. Small store, but very well stocked. Will be back for more. Thank you!”

“Visiting Downtown Liquors on International Women's Day my sister and I were treated to a bottle of rosé for a mere penny. She was in town under difficult circumstances and we'd had an unlucky and terrible morning, and this little bit of grace, along with some fabulous tacos next door at Habanero were the things that turned her trip around. The world needs more of this! Thank you”

“First time there, Raymond from the wine section was tremendously helpful, i had a ton of stuff to bring to the car and he went out of his way to help me out. Much appreciated.”

“Best liquor store in Downtown/NW DC, hands down. The prices are phenomenal and far lower than their competitors. Most liquor stores in the area are run by seedy old men who massively price gouge the suit-and-tie crowd and bums rather than run an honest business. McReynold's could not be more different than this-- helpful, charming staff, great classical music playlist and very fair prices make this unquestionably the best option in the area. I feel happy to stop by here, whereas many of these sorts of stores are rather depressing to say the least.”

“I love this place and make it a point to stop by and load up every time I'm in the area. They are priced better than the army base. I wish they had shopping carts but the place is too small and would not make sense. they are super helpful and the price makes it worth the trip. Highly recommended.”

“It's still five stars here, and they also opened the nearby Sara's Market. Love them both. But now the "food desert" aspects of Georgetown have improved since my previous review. We got our Whole Foods back (although it is mechanized, so the ambience sucks), and Trader Joe's opened, as did Wegman's and Streets. So there is competition, definitely, but this little corner shop still has my heart.”

“THIS LIQUOR STORE WAS GREAT! Very amazing service. The workers were very ready to help me find things. But what stunned me about this place is it’s variety of brands. I enjoy mixing from home and I am very specific about which alcohol brands I keep in my liquor cabinet. This place satisfies.”

“They are the best!!! I visit that store all the time, and every time I go into that store, I have got nothing but excellent service, and the guys that work there are so knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices are reasonable, and they always have what I am looking for in stock.”

4.7 Superb28 Reviews

“The staff is really helpful and funny. The prices are decent for the area and they generally have everything you could want from a neighborhood liquor store. Recommend going here over the liquor store up the street just because the prices are better and the staff is really helpful.”

“Wow!! Skips is a nice liquor store in the neighborhood that has been there for a very long time at one time there was a crowd of folks that hung around the store all day begging for money but they have cleaned it up and you feel much safer going there now”

“Visiting the District for the day: heard about this place and its amazing mezcal selection. Figured I’d bring a bottle or two home for the holidays. I was very impressed. Have not seen this kind of selection outside of Mexico. Miguel, one of the guys on the floor, spoke with me and gave me numerous recommendations. He was very helpful and friendly. Just wish I had more time to look around at the other spirits.Parking was a bit of a hassle. Opted for street parking but it was a busy Friday night. I’m assuming public garages are nearby.”

“This is a great local shop that has a well curated selection, it does not have a huge selection ( it’s a small business) but each one is well thought out and if you are unfamiliar with the selection the owner provides amazing recommendations and I’ve never had a bed experience with three bottles he recommends, additionally one of the few places in admo where you can find reasonably priced Soju! And lastly I always enjoy the playlist while I’m browsing :)”

“Awesome neighborhood wine shop! My husband and I tried one of their wine classes as a fun date night and had so much fun! They have a very unique and interesting selection of wines - something for everyone. Absolutely recommend giving this place a visit.”

“I've been here a couple times. It's a small place with great service. The deli is excellent. I recommend the Reuben with no modifications. On one occasion, my card was unexpectedly declined; the cashier was very gracious and took care of the next customer at the second register while I sorted out the issue, so I didn't suffer any further embarrassment OR hold up the line. I really appreciate that level of service.”
