Not only that but the woman who greeted me as I walked in knew not only what it was I was looking for but also what to use as a degreaser in the place of the one recommended on the bottle.AND their price was better than Amazon by quite a bit! “First time visitor today. The swivel hinge on my cabinet broke this morning so I Google searched for "real" cabinet hardware. I brought my cheap, broken hinge with me to B&B. I had dozens of questions. I saw first-hand why my old hinge was thin, brittle, and stamped. It was a custom cabinet, too. No wonder why it broke. B&B had a replacement hinge that was heavy, solid, and REAL. And I was shocked that his hinge was $4. CRAZY! Brian taught me in detail how to repair, install, and adjust. I ended up browsing for nearly an hour and asking questions. Brian was helpful... like old school mom-and-pop shops used to be. Thank you for your expertise and helpfulness. GREAT STORE! I'll be getting all my hardware and project tools from them.”
“This place is hard to rate. They have a couple of outlets - one on S Probandt, and one on Walzam Rd. Probandt is an old warehouse and the goods are presented in a commensurate fashion, making it kind of a dump to go to. BUT it is very large and they have a lot of items. The Walzam Rd location is smaller, more store-like and a lot cleaner. Selection is similar but my impression is of smaller quantities and more limited selection. They both carry a wide range of construction and household materials, whether reclaimed from remodels or demolitions, or closeouts, seconds and scratch-and-dent. They also have a lot of paints, much of which is "evolve", a brand that keeps excess project or returned paint from being senselessly dumped in landfills. Prices are better than the building materials stores, but you still need to know what a good price is, as some of the smaller household goods can be found for less elsewhere (mainly online). But bargains are to be found if you don't mind spending time browsing. I suggest coming prepared with a complete list of what you might need, so you come away with what you really want at a price that suits you. All of that said, remember that this is a thrift store for Habitat for Humanity, a very good organization that makes affordable housing available for low income people. So anything you buy supports a great cause. I would have rated this 3-stars, but the nature of what their main focus is caused me to make it 4-stars since the dollars you spend here contributes to helping people in need.”

“Today was my first time looking for wood for projects (besides home depot), and I was amazed at the options available here. I have always loved the look of purple heart and wenge, so I grabbed a couple small pieces to find something to do with. This place has a lot of stuff, and seems to cater to almost any type of niche craft you can do with wood. From knife handle scales to live-edge, table-sized pieces, you can probably find what you need here. I just got home, but am already beginning to regret not grabbing a few unique pieces from their consignment selection. I will definitely be back soon, and encourage you to drop by as well.”
“Found the sink faucet I was looking 4 and also found out that they r the only place that has it in San Antonio. Home Depo and Lowes don't carry it b cuz it is too old of a product built4 that old of a house built in 1950' a and also 4 the doors I have on my house. They carry items 4 houses built 50-60 yrs ago.”
